Comfortable room, good breakfast, friendly staff who ensured that we could have something to eat when we arrived very late due to the boat being late. The rooms were clean and well maintained. It is an hotel where we have stayed many times

« Comfortable room but poor breakfast »

Breakfast was uninspiring and poor value at 15 euros per person. The plates were in the centre of the room and even the staff member did not realise they had been placed there. The bacon was poor quality and only two sausages were available in spite of being told they would be served in 5 minutes.

The room washed very comfortable. The staff excellent. Food in the restaurant Very good but the fire was allowed to go out which diminished the atmosphere and resulted in quite a drop in temperature. Overall a lovely stay and we will return.

« Fantastic service in a beautiful setting »

I would like to make a special note on the receptionist: we called to say we would arrive late and to check if someone would be available. My French is not very good but the receptionist was very patient and polite. When we arrived we received a very warm welcome. Finally when we wanted to use the spa early in the morning, the receptionist kindly opened up the entire room just for us. These smell things make a stay unforgettable. The room was also wonderful and clean. Thank you. I am now interested in becoming a member of the Accor group.

« Very disappointing having had good stays at this hotel prior to the renovations. »

We booked a standard room but were given a disabled room with a door to the adjoining room next door. We did not complain as we thought we would give it a go. My wife particularly felt uneasy and uncomfortable for the duration of our stay. The room was not kept as clean as it should have been. The carpeted area and the bathroom floor were not cleaned during our stay. We did not use the restaurant as we found the menu very limited. We found the renovated bar area extremely noisy as compared to our previous visits. It is highly unlikely that we would choose to stay here again as we feel that the alterations and change of ownership have spoilt the atmosphere of what we considered a lovely comfortable hotel.

Very disappointed.We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last few years and even had a stay there last February while renovations were taking place.We were looking forward to our stay this time and also to seeing the revamped hotel. Unfortunately we feel the hotel has lost much of its character and comfort. While the staff were quite pleasant our stay was not as comfortable as we had expected from past experience. We do not understand why we were allocated a room with disabled facilities plus a door t adjoining room next door (not locked ). We did not complain at the time as we felt that this could be construed as being rather petty. But my wife did not feel comfortable and completely at ease. The room was not given a proper clean for the duration of our stay (6 nights).The carpets and the bathroom floor were not cleaned. We did not eat in the restaurant as we felt the menu was very limited and we were lucky that there were a number of lovely restaurants nearby. It is highly unlikely that we would choose to stay here again despite having had good stays prior to the renovations. It is certainly no longer a four star hotel even by continental standards.

Good: Comfortable quiet room. Efficient / friendly staff. Lovely bed. Poor: Restaurant closed for dinner on a Friday night; Too few staff covering reception / bar area in evening. Poor girl managed well but was rushed off her feet.

Just a little disappointed, I was travelling with my elderly mother and needed a twin bedded room near the lift, but the hotel does not have twin bedded room near the lift, which made this a struggle. The staff let us know that dinner would not be available in the evening, which again was a shame.

« Ver nice hotel, good standard, Nice restaurant with good dinner and excellent breakfast »

The only problems we saw were as follows: 1. The were no drawers in the bedroom to keep our cloths. Maybe OK for one night, but we stayed for 3 nights and had to keep most of our things in our luggage. There was just a shelf in the wardrobe which was not sufficient. 2. The hotel did not have enough staff. There was only one man serving in the restaurant on Friday evening and the service to everyone was slow. You need 2 people serving especially at weekend. Also just one person for the reception and the bar. Several times we had to wait for a drink from the bar because she was dealing with arrival and departures. 3. There was no food available Sunday night, and the restaurants across the canal were also closed. Overall very good but could be improved.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay at the hotel. The service was fully satisfactory - we were greeted well at reception, the room was clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was good (but would have benefited from having hot plates for the hot food). We enjoyed our evening meal.

« Disappointing »

The curtains in the room were falling off the rail and the plug to the sink was not operating properly. The receptionist could not fix the curtain problem but clearly this was not the first time it had fallen off. The breakfast at € 15 we consider to be expensive when most things come from a packet . The fresh fruit was bruised and the fruit juice was full of sugar . Tables from other diners were left uncleared so the whole experience was rather unpleasant .

The hotel was very satisfactory although our bedroom had a lingering smell of cigarettes. It was very basic with only shower gel provided and very basic tea/coffee provisions. In saying that I was pleased to receive a small bottle of water complimentary. The staff in the bar were not very well trained and unsure how to make cocktails.

Efficient and pleasant check-in and a comfortable room with a small terrace where it was pleasant to sit outside with a good book and a glass of wine. Good breakfast with a varied choice of hot dishes and cold dishes in typical French style. The hotel wqs spotless and the housekeeping staff excellent. Special mention should be made of the superb location by the banks of the River Rance. Apart from the hotel's own restaurant,there is easy access to a selection of restaurants to cater for all tastes. Another plus point is the generous amount of parking space.
