Overall a good hotel. Staff were willing to help. Some improvements required. Room had cigarette butt in - reception happily switched rooms No gluten free options on dinner menu at all which was an issue. Meeting room facilities very good although cold initially Staff all very keen to help

« In a ‘superior room,’ there was one towel per person and, during our two-night stay, the towels were not changed and the room was not cleaned. »

I was disappointed. We were visiting Wavre for a funeral so it was not an easy weekend. I booked two rooms: one for my wife and myself and one for my wife’s mother. We use Accor Hotels regularly, though we have less experience of Ibis. One towel per person seems a bit mean, even for an economy hotel, but it is supposed to be a superior room. The rooms were not cleaned and the towels were not changed over our two-night stay. Also, I’ll mention that the heating system seemed a bit marginal, especially, for room 703: it worked, but took some time to reach a comfortable temperature. A final point, though it’s not one that you can do much about. Why design a hotel room such that there’s hardly sufficient space to walk between the foot of the bed and the wall?

We pay great attention to satisfy our travelers' wishes, unfortunately clearly there was a problem with the organization of our housekeeping that weekend! We can assure you that all rooms are cleaned on a daily base, except if you do not wish to have anybody in the room indicating it by the "do not disturb" card. As for the towels, we always have fresh towels available, please do not hesitate to ask a member of our team at any time of the day to get fresh or additional towels. If they are not changed daily but every second day, it is for environmental reasons, nevertheless, if you place your towel on the floor, we will change them immediately. I am really sorry that you had an unpleasant experience, and also my condolences for your loss! « my kindle ereqder has been stolen in my room »

I was impressed by the renovation. I liked the room as well as the as the bar and the breakfast area. However, the fact my kindle was stolen ruined my experience. I travel a lot and also in third world countries and I always leave my kindle on the night table. This is the first time it has been stolen. You should maybe check your personnel and who has access to guest rooms.

It was all good except for being charged for a breakfast that I never had. I contacted the hotel and the response was that I had to call to talk to the same person who charged me for the imaginary breakfast, which I found peculiar. I persuaded the person to leave her colleague a message but in the end I had to phone again. I spoke to the person who charged me and he said it might be difficult to put the money back on my credit card and asked whether I would be staying again at the hotel so it could be included in the bill next time. This does not sound right to me. I still have not heard anything about getting my money back. Not good.

« Quiet and recently refurbed but some design flaws »

A 'family' room (for a 4yo and infant) was great as Ibis supplied a great cot, but loose electrical housing on the skirting and lots of hanging cables (design - bedside lights, flaw - tv cables) meant it was less than relaxing being on the lookout all the time! Amazingly comfortable beds but who puts twin single beds together as a double?? No chance of bringing the kids in with us... Some basic child safety precautions would help (slippery shower stall would benefit from a non-slip mat) - and pretty sure EU rules require no outlets in the bathroom - although there was no bath (in a family room?!) - just a shower. Fun. And if you're going to refurb the rooms, you should take out the old vent instead of just covering it in a bag and some tape..Cots could be supplied with an actual pillow, instead of a folded towel in a pillowcase...but overall clean, amazing food, wonderful staff, and given we were one of only 3 rooms occupied in the hotel, although we got put on the top floor, we had a great view (but perhaps move the desk so that it isn't under the skylight, which the 4yo tried to climb out of!). Thank you.

Good location, close to city centre. Plenty of parking places. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and modern rooms, a bit small though. Things to improve: check-in and check-out takes very long time; breakfast could be a bit better.

« Too small and no kettle etc »

The bathroom was well equipped but very small, with nowhere to put toiletries. We were provided with only a bath towel each and had to ask for hand towels (which turned out to be bath mats!) The bed (although very comfortable) was so big there was little space to move around. There was also nowhere to put the case whilst packing/unpacking except on the bed. There was only one small uncomfortable chair and there was no kettle etc. The coffee machine in the lobby had no milk and neither did the one behind the bar, which gave a poor choice of either hot water or black coffee

For the space issue allow me to suggest to book a Superior room for your next stay, you will find the couple of square meters very useful plus there are coffee makers in these rooms. We are happy to supply additional chairs, one additional folding chair is stored in the wardrobe and there are plenty more available at the welcome desk. For quality reasons we keep the milk always in our fridges but you should get it immediately upon request, I will discuss this with my team! « It would be a very nice hotel, if heating works. »

I stayied 2 days in the Wavre Hotel, which has been refurbished few months ago, during relatively cold days in September 2017. I appreciated a lot the brand new rooms, as well as the clean and very comfortable toilettes (especially the shower cabins). The personell was extremily friendly and ready to help. Unfortunately, despite each room has an independent air heating, it was not possible to switch it on. I was switched between three different rooms, and the situation was always the same: apparently heating was deactivated in some general way, and no one had idea about how to activate it.

« Nice facilities poor food in the restaurant and too few personnel »

The ambiente was pretty nice. I Liked that. Much better than the other hotels like the Ibis Styles in LLN or Leonardo/Best Western. However, the food in the restaurant was not good. Not all dishes were available and the Mac&Cheese I had was clearly rewarmed but still cold. In addition, the quality was barely acceptable. The breakfast on the other hand was good! During my stay in the restaurant there was only one guy on duty and responsible for the reception, the restaurant, bar and the kitchen. Unsurprisingly, he could not handle all though he was really trying hard and was very friendly/helpful. As consequence, I had to wait very long for my order. Please improve that! The AC in my room was very very loud. If the hotel had a fitness room I would prefer it over the Ibis Styles LLN at any given time.

« "Roll out bed" for 3 year old was tiny cot. »

We requested a roll out bed for our three year old daughter, when we arrived all they could offer us was a tiny cot for a baby, when booking we were told this was suitable for children up to 7. Staff were sympathetic when we complained but were not able to do anything, as a result spent 2 very uncomfortable and expensive nights with a 3 year old squeezed between us.

« A little gem with a big customer focused offer - ideal for those with accessibility issues »

- A bedroom ideally designed for those with reduced mobility (the only improvements I can suggest is the toilet height should be 5cm lower for ease of bowel movement and the mattress on the bed which risks movement) ; - Polite attentive staff from the manager (Mr. ZEMANEK) to the serving staff & reception; - Very clean. I'd say 3*++ (We stayed for 3 nights). It beats à l’hôtel Dolce La Hulpe Brussels hands down (we stayed there for 4 nights); - Breakfast was good; - The room was of a nice size. tastefully furnished. - The hotel is incredibly well soundproofed. Nicely priced. We had booked 10 rooms and heard similar comments from all. They had no mobility problems and are well travelled. Some from Germany, Switzerland, France, U.S.A and U.K. You have changed my perception from 20 years ago! You will have my custom soon again.
