Our stay was great, the staff are all amazing. The only element that we were not happy with was the New Years Eve event, we were very disappointed with the lack of entertainment on the night and also the additional charge we paid for the night to be told we could only have Sangria as our drink preference and if we wanted another drink we would have to purchase it from the bar.

Nice things first: Amazing room design is like real igloo. The outside bath is extremely photogenic. A lot of sharks around meter long. Good spa. Beautiful sunsets especially in the pool. The stuff in Male airport is very helpful and walk you to the lounge. Bad went worse: · 1. The first night my friend woke up at 3am because noticed a men in the room who came through the patio and was staying near the table trying to steal a bag. But then he noticed that people awake and run away. Reception didn’t reply to the call two times. Emergency replied and brought regular stuff. Then they asked to come the head of security (a nice guy). In the morning we didn’t receive any calls or letters. As compensation the head of front desk offered us one free dinner. Seriously? We wanted to change the hotel... The general manager said sorry. Many thanks! Actually we knew who was a thief, he was fired and deported the same day (if believe the reception). It made us feel safety at least... But we are not sure he was fired. 2. The food is so average. The All Inclusive package doesn’t worth it. But you actually need to spend a lot in a buffet as you almost have no other options. For example, for breakfast you will see some dishes from the last dinner. 3. Because of the tides, the beach was dirty the first day. There were cans, plastic bottles. The water has oil surface and dust. The water is not always transparent and blue. More green. 4. If you love snorkeling, please, be aware that there are so many corrals with a low level of water. To swim on the reef gap you need to walk through corals. 5. There are some stairs to the water near water villas. Sounds cool but the water smells like pee there and we caught !pants!. 6. No one wants to help you in a buffet. We think it depends on where you are from. 7. The room cleaning is once a day. What’s not enough and there is nothing to clean out the sand. I just want to stop myself writing this. Maldives are amazing and you may find a lot of options.

I would say that the overall experience was average. First, the resort is breathtakingly beautiful! It's one of the nicest places that I have been to. The staffs are friendly, and very helpful, right from the start to the end of our trip. The foods and drinks are a bit limited, I would love to see more options on the menu, or multiple menus. We didn't get to participate in pretty much all the activities because the Dolphin Adventure and the Local tour was canceled (due to not having enough people), and the diving was canceled due to the weather. That was a disappointment. However, the worst experience was due to the other tourists. During our stay, there are a few groups of Chinese tourists that basically ruined our trip. They are LOUD, all the times! At the pool, in the restaurant, near the bar, wherever they are, they were just TOO LOUD! They talk to each other as if they are yelling. They laughed and screamed like it's in the supermarket or in the park. I think the staffs must know (or train) how to handle these situations. The staffs must remind them that this is a resort, where there are other tourists that chose to spend the money and their time here to relax, not to be disturbed. I am NOT targeting Chinese tourists, as this should be handled with any group. It just happened to be Chinese groups in this specific instance.

Unfortunately it was the worst staying with AccorHotels. Mercure Kooddoo has the greatest villas: the outside shower is amazing, the beach in front our villa (206) was excellent. Also the swimming pool is very good. But.... In our first night in Mercure Kooddoo someone insert into our villa and tried to filch a handbag. Fortunately, I heard it and awoke, saw the robber and scream. He run out. I called to reception twice but nobody has answered. So I have had to call the emergency. The security came, I explained the situation, they promised to provide the investigation. Next morning nobody from hotel’s management tries to contact us. It was very strange. We identified the robber in a garden-men. Only after our visit to reception and asking to invite someone from management we have had a discussion with director assistant. The dialogue was very shot and poor, he offered only still water.... no comments. I would like to say thanks for care some members of the staff team: the head of front office/reception and a woman, who provided service in Male airport. Only these two people were pleasant and careful. I hope this information will be useful to improve your services and such situation will never happen again.

« Amazing once-in-a-lifetime holiday »

We came for our honeymoon. Food was decent, christmas eve gala dinner was great. Staff were great, we were well looked after. Some staff went out of their way to help. After lunch one day we left some valuables on the table which was mistakenly thrown away. Restaurant staff did all they could to help us find them. We had a lovely lovley time there. Thank you all.

We really enjoyed the room and facilities, the rather reasonable size of the hotel, but felt that F&B services were quite uneven e.g. very smiling staff but either absent, and/or looking at clients without properly attending our needs and certainly little proactivity. Waiting 10-15' to get a glass of water, a hot tea (green tea ran out of stock at the end!!!!), staff not removing empty plates unless being told. One noticeable exception is one staff at the pool bar. All inclusive at 120 USD/day for kids is not good value for money and Vista experience was not nice from poor service, to overcooked dishes and extra charges applying all the way for rather basic dishes. We enjoyed diving and the great professionalism of staff but were taken back by surprise when at the time of billing we were told that packages did not apply for all dives but counted per each diver which when you come as a family with 3 teenagers seems a bit weird.

Very well designed rooms, beautiful outdoor bathroom & nice private pool. Everything very well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful in special Mr. Shafeen. I was impressed with the property and would say it’s probably the best Mercure Hotel I ever stayed. Only Dow side was the quality of food which could be improved in special at the Vistas Restaurant. The music animation wasn’t very Xmas style and sometimes to loud. Nevertheless a fantastic beautiful stay with a good value.

« The Overall experience vastly exceeded any of our expectations! »

From the moment we landed in Male, all of our travel arrangements were well coordinated, including with the Somerset hotel in which we stayed at the night prior. We had the best room in the resort which was definitely a plus, and everyone resort employee we talked to was friendly and extremely helpful. We would like to specifically thank the Australian gentleman John who went above and beyond to help us secure a late checkout in a beach villa, on the day of our departure, so we would have a room for the 7 hours before our flight out of Kooddoo. Despite the great hospitality and everything greatly exceeding our expectations, we feel there are still some areas that can be improved on. While the overall level of service was great, we felt that there needed to be more attention payed to restaurant guests. Too often did I find employees standing around waiting for new guests to arrive, when they could be providing service to the guests who were already there at the restaurant. My water glass was never refilled, items on the buffers were not replenished as quickly as they should have been (there was a loaf of bread that hit the floor and instead of throwing it away and getting new bread, the employee just guarded it from other guests until I suggested she the idea). The coffee machines were never serviced with milk, water, beans, or had cups u less I asked for it. The one night we went to the Vistas restaurant it was understaffed and we had to wait almost 20 minutes before the one server was able to get around to us to give us the bill after we were done with our meal. Long enough to where I was creating my own lyrics to the Christmas music playing about how much I wanted the bill. I also feel that there should be a little more transparency as far as the menu and prices for all the services provided (buffet pricing for lunch and dinner, excursions, spa, etc) on the website. Prior to my arrival, I had no idea how much anything was going to cost and therefore came with a limited budget as to not overspend, instead of being able to plans ahead of time. We are looking forward to returning again soon and maybe even checking out the new Pullman resort we heard so much about.
