This is my third time stay in Grand Mercure Kemayoran. Overall we are satisfied with the services provided and comfy bed. But there is one trouble during our stay, which was the elevator stuck in 8th floor when want to going back to my room.

the reception told me I can leave earlier when I checked in. but when I going to leave, the reception manager told me I cant, even I told them my travel plan changed. in most hotels, the guest can leave earlier, even the booking is reserved. also the room is not good, it can be entered from the neighbour room, and I can hear the sound clearly in another room.

« Great hotel but need staff training »

It was second time I used the hotel. The experience wasn’t as great as the first one. I stayed at the hotel for 3 days 2 nights. Day one, I arrived at the hotel quite early around 9am and the room wasn’t ready for me to check-in, so I just did registration and have one medium-size suitcase stored at the reception’s concierge, then I went out of hotel for my appointment. Back to the hotel around 4pm, got the room key quite instantly at front desk, but redeeming my one suitcase took more than 10mins !! There were many front desk staffs, but the staff for luggage wasn’t seem to be enough and there was no intention of front desk staff for cross cover to help, hence the process to redeem my suitcase I feel it was bit too long and the worst feeling was to see front desk personnel who did nothing to help the situation to cover, chit-chat among themselves and kept me waiting.... Day two, I left the hotel around 7am for my appointments and turned on “make up room” light at the door. I came back to the hotel around 3.30pm and found out that my room has not been cleaned !! With a feeling of disappointment I made a complaint to the reception who contacted housekeeping department immediately, had me waiting at the lobby and had my room ready around 4pm. Day three, check out process was smooth. I hope hotel management can pay more attention on the above staff training for user experience in the future. It was quite unfortunate that I have my 2nd experience not as smooth as my first one.

« Our Luggages had been given to another guests? »

It has been many positive stays we had so far for almost 5-6 times since 20… Except this visit: 22 Dec, 11,15PM: My husband came down to reception seeking for assistane to arranged a Taxi booking as we need to urgently visit Hermina Hospital, the lady reception seen my husband in queue line, however she chose to casually speaking and chit chat with Caucasian guests for a long time. Its a crucial moment for us to be in hospital. We can understand in customer service perspective you have to be courteous and you may continue to causally chit chat with guest if there is no other guests in line, this is upsetting as clearly can be seen the other guest had already received the key card, and the lady reception choose not to ackowledge our presence. 24 Dec, 11: 10 AM: Checked out was fast and efficient by a lady receptionist. Another male receptionist by the name of Akbar helped us with our luggages to be kept in luggage store. 24 Dec, 13:00PM: We had returned to the hotel to retrieve our luggages but was told that all 4 luggages had been released and later they realised it was given to another hotel guests?? (please note it had happened only during 2 hours since we had checked out) I believe there should be a proper process in placed by The management of Grand Mercure Kemayoran on how to handle Guests luggages, the luggage card collection slip was given by room number only. There is no name of guests etc, We seek the hotel management to view this incident as a serious matter as it involved on passengers belongings, the poor arrangement of the luggages had leave us a trauma for staying with Grand Mercure Kemayoran Hotel. The duty manager in charged at the moment had confirmed with me that our luggages were at Grand Indonesia at that time being and they had to switch it before we may have it back and send to our parents home, we sincerely thank the duty manager in charged, and also Akbar, Indra and there maybe some staffs that I did not managed to get their name for being attentive in handling the matter. However I do hope that this review does not stop here but to be taken seriously. Special thanks to the operator team and house keeping team who managed to return a pair of my earrings after the room move. Really appreciated it.
