I am very disappointed about my stay at the hotel. First of all there was a constant problem with the internet connection and it was most of the time impossible to connect to the internet. Secondly during breakfast I had to constantly ask people for bread and other missing ingredients on the table. Finally, I was extremely disappointed at the way the check out and paiement happened. I had sent several emails in advance to ask about the rate for Accor member and without taxes (as I am UN personnel). I did not receive any response while my colleague asked the same question by email and he did get a response. Because I did not receive an answer, I booked through the Accor website, as there was a early booking discount. I had done the same previously in the IBIS Hotel (also through the website of Accor) and I had had no problem: i had received the breakfast discount and they reduced the taxes and I paid everything at the end of my stay. At Mercure, this was apparently not possible, my money had already been taken from my visa card and it was impossible to reduce the taxes. The ladies at the front could not do anything for me. They even had me pay the other taxes I had not paid over the internet and did not offer any client-friendly solution to solve the problem. I ended up being punished for having booked in advance through the website even though I had sent an email I had not received any response to!! I should have received my taxes back, as UN personnel is not supposed to pay this. I end up paying the commission Mercure has to pay to Accor which is not very fair, I think! I was extremely disappointed, especially as my my colleague (also accor member and UN personnel and who I had convinced to stay at the Mercure!!!) received and paid a much better rate without taxes, and we were both in exactly the same situation (except I had booked over the accor website) How unfair is this???? i really don't understand why the paiement could not just have been annuled and a new paiement without taxes could have been done. And I really don't understand why none of the administration offered to reduce the amount I still had to pay, as a client friendly solution! At the IBIS I get better rates and they are definitely more client friendly. I don't think I ll ever stay in Mercure again.

Hotel is very nice and staff is very friendly and helpful. Very satisfied with everything apart from price of late check-out, room floor (needs washing), and wifi (not working well even in the reception area).

Lovely room - and comfortable bed with cool linen. Plenty of TV stations, and air con worked well. Pool well looked after, and great views over the river...great place for aperitif!

They Give me 3rd Floor Room and A/C was not Working. Later I Informed to reception for other Room. But They Replied Wait for A/C technician to Sort out The problem. If Not able to repair they will allot me Other Room!!! After One Hour I Got Other Room. A/C Is Just O.Kay. No WiFi available. No WiFi Available at restauranat.

I made a prepaid reservation on the Mercure website, arrived on the correct date only to find the funds had not been sent to N'Jamena. Had to pay US cash on the spot. The staff told me that the Mercure hotel group had not even set up a system to send the reservation monies and that the same things has happened to other guests.
