We had a basic room on the ground floor which looked out on to another part of the building. The room was a reasonable size for one night, and quiet. The location has very good access to lunch and evening dining. Breakfasts are a bit more limited.

Staff in the hotel were friendly which was great. I know they are renovating & I would hope they put a bar in the hotel itself & breakfast buffet too. You need to walk a couple hundred metres all the way into the Panthers club to finally find the breakfast buffet & then they make you sign into the club! As a Mercure member it was very hard to use my complimentary drinks. I think you would have had to have a beer at the reception which was pretty weird! Also we had a family room as there were 3 adults and a child but the only Tv in the room was on the wall infront of the queen bed! So we all had to jump in the queen bed to watch tv. That was pretty strange too!

It was very comfortable - however, I left a kindle in the room on the bedside table after I had checked out. I rang back the next day to track it down and was advised someone from housekeeping would call me back in 10 mins. Two hours later a I called back and yes, housekeeping had my kindle. I would have expected that you would have tracked me down after it was found in the room. I suspect that if I had not called, I may have never seen the kindle again.

« The lobby was under renovation, but overall experience was good »

Generally I am satisfied with the overall experience. The room is spacious, clean and has decent facilities. The location is good because there are many eating places nearby. It is located next to Panther Penrith though, so it can be crowded when the game is on. Hotel facilities are sufficient too. The lobby was under renovation when I stayed there, so obviously this impacted the overall experience.

Stay was ok, room was comfortable but we were not happy that being Accor members that we were shoved down on the bottom floor almost underground for our stay. So much for Accor loyalty!

Very happy to start with, this soon turned to disappointment! When I arrived I advised reception that I would finalising my account with cash, I did this just prior to departing. You can imagine the displeasure when I noticed that my credit card had also been accessed for payment as well, meaning I’ve paid twice. When I contacted the accommodation and questioned the reason for this, I was advised the payment had been taken from my account before I’d made the cash payment in fact within minutes of each other. My account had been accessed at 09:23 and I departed paying in cash before doing so around 09:30. I was advised it was an oversight and the money would be released within 7 days. This should never had happened especially when I originally advised reception when I arrived that I’d be paying with cash. My credit card should not have been accessed for payment in the first place. I can assure I’m not happy with incident and will think twice before ever stay here again.

The hotel was fine, the staff were great and very attentive and helpful. There was some building works happening at the time which was annoying during the day and didn't make the entrance inviting, but other than that, which will make the hotel better in time.

I can say that overall experience was good, except few things. I have asked room service to look into the issue in my room, but there was no positive revert, even they didn't had any other room available at that moment. Not a big deal for me, I managed that.
