« Intermittnet 'drillilke' noise in bathroom during night which kept me awake for hours »

Apart from the above, the stay was very pleasant otherwise. Welcome on arrival, pre-check-in luggage storage, room, staff, bar, food were all lovely.

IT was ok. Disappointed there was no designated disabled parking. Disappointed that we had to pay so much for parking. Disappointed that once we had a designated parking space someone else parked in the space! We were not very happy to be woken up at 4.30 am on the Saturday by the party goers in the next room to us and the coming a goings to and from that room for about 45 minutes. We had breakfast which was good but we felt overpriced for Bridgwater. We have there so are quiet often in Bridgwater.

The hotel itself is a wonderful addition to the town of Bridgwater. Whilst welcoming the idea of of the informal reception I do think that at times of it being busy it does seem to be slightly overwhelmed. The parking in the area seems to be a shambles with little or no coordination of who should park close to the hotel and it is a bit of a free for all. This was my second visit and it was the same both times when having paid I was left without a parking space. An idea might be scrap the idea of parking there all together and park across the road until suitable land can be purchased when the supermarket next door is relocated

Phoned Ivy at the desk who organised our booking. She was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The room was comfortable and despite overlooking Broadway Road, it was very quiet and the curtains ensured the room was dark at night. Great shower facilities. We chose to park our car across the street but it was easy to access - we could see it from our room! We enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Pierre White Restaurant downstairs. I was born in Bridgwater but have live abroad for many years and am thrilled a modern hotel has finally been built in the town. My husband and I will definately use The Mecure whenever we travel to Bridgwater in the future!

I travel for business and usually choose my hotel by the Parking, I do not like to park offsite - first for the security of both me and the car but also for the sheer convenience bags to carry etc. The limited parking is not clear and therefore I had to park offsite in a public car park admittedly not too far away. When I mentioned this again the following morning the reception told me the website outlines this, but I cannot see anything to advise, all it says is "Private Indoor Parking (Paying) Private Outdoor Parking" no Public Car park mentioned. You need to call prior to your stay. On a positive note, room is lovely and great for working, bathroom lovely but towels are very small and thin. Room Service really nice as well.

This was my second stay within two weeks and which I really enjoyed staying at the hotel rooms very clean and staff very friendly. The only downside was having to pay for parking.

All aspects good, just a couple of suggestions: Bath towel size far too small, just didn't match the standard of the room / hotel. Restaurant Manager eating as he walked around the restaurant (spotted a couple of times). Shepherds Pie, disappointing, lacked flavour, integral veg raw (not al dente). Clearer advanced info regarding car park charges. Breakfast particularly good.

The room was dirty. My member of staff asked for the room to be cleaned and was told to move rooms. He had lots of files etc so it was not practice for him to move. The cleaners only work till 12.00 he was told ( not his problem). Don’t think I will be booking a room again as I cannot afford to have staff complaining. It was not the cheapest hotel in Bridgwater, but thought 4 star would be 4 star. Please look at this and let me know how this can be rectified. I will be forwarding a complaint letter/email in due course regarding my concerns.

I have also spoken to reception, they believed offering the room move was the quickest solution to the guest but when this was declined we should have been in the position to offer room cleaning even if all our housekeepers had finished for the day and I am sorry that this was not the case. Overnight stay, room comfortable, some sporadic cleaning. Reception area I felt was inadequate for the job the receptionists have to do. As a consequence with any more than one or two customers requiring assistance at one time the system falls down. For example I required a room key reprogramming because I could not get into the room, this could not be done until later in the evening after I returned from a meeting because the staff had no access to the machine. The car park fees at the hotel were extortionate at £15.00, the alternative parking suggested by the hotel was too far away, particularly on what was a very wet and rainy day. My experience in the restaurant was slightly disappointing both with the fayre and with the serving staff being far to overstretched. Overall the staff both at the hotel and restaurant were polite, attentive and helpful given their circumstances.

Nice hotel, friendly reception staff, however restaurant staff and restaurant food was very disappointing. Staff need a lot more training on what products they stock. Booked the restaurant for valentines, choose to eat from the valantines menu at £45pp plus 10% service charge. Soup was tasteless and bland, came with no bread, sirloin again bland, my chicken was tasteless no flavour whatsoever, tasted like a cheep chicken burger from iceland. When I complained to the server she offered a sauce, I asked what was on offer, she replied with Ketchup or mayonnaise Seriously?! On payment we complained again about the food only to be offered a reduction of the 10% service charge from the bill. We most definitely will not be eating at the restaurant again.

Dear Ms G., Thank you for taking the time to complete our online feedback following your recent visit to the hotel it is only through receiving such feedback that we are able to target the correct areas within the hotel that require additional resources. I apologise that the Valentines Menu disappointed, we have already passed this onto both our Head Chef and the Marco Pierre White central team as most of the menu items were dictated by brand. I'm sorry that you found them lacking in flavour the vast majority of feedback on the special menu was positive with only one other negative piece of feedback. I have spoken to the F&B manager and I believe there may have been a misunderstanding at how unhappy you were with your meals for which he unreservedly apologises. To put your mind at rest there was a 10% discount made to the bill and the 10% service charge was removed, again I’m sorry if this was not communicated correctly between the staff involved. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope that on your next visit the restaurant service and food matches your experience of the rest of the hotel.
