The bed was awfully uncomfortable - two single beds pushed together? Not good for a big guy like me. Not easy to find the light switches in the room. Lighting in the bathroom was inadequate.

I don't think I've ever paid more for a simple hotel room than during this stay, and I was pretty disappointed with what I got in return. Yes the design was nice, but the room and bed were small. The walls and floors had icky stains on them. Desk staff were very blasé. If I had to sum everything up I paid double the price to the experience I got. Breakfast was great though.

The mercure hotel is a lovely peaceful hotel, located just one stop from Amsterdam central. The hotels hygiene is amazing, and the quality of the rooms for the price you pay is fantastic. I really enjoyed my stay, I 100% recommend

Hardly a destination hotel (however, that isn't your fault), but I'm afraid that the experience didn't improve. Good welcome from your reception staff, but the dingy dark corridors were far from inspiring. The lack of drinking water, either in the room or corridors, is frankly unacceptable. The gym was not welcoming and lacked a good range of equipment. I didn't appreciate having to reprogramme my key card twice in a two day stay. Bland and characterless. Won't visit again voluntarily. Bizarre having 2 hotels share 1 stairwell.

On arrival our booking could not be traced although it was booked on the Accor site and we had received confirmation emails. We found the restaurant was closed Friday and Saturday night although the hotel site advises open 7 nights! and the pizza delivery service advertised in the room was not available. There is not much on offer on Saturday night nearby.
