The Villa domain and location were sublime, unfortunately though it doesn’t fall close to MGallery hotels I’ve been in. Starting from the check-in which I had to do twice due to some misshap while taking my passport details... had to go through the check-in saga again in the evening. Went for dinner with my wife at the Hotel’s famous gourmet restaurant, the food and wine selection were exquisite, but honestly it felt like being in a cafeteria... the waiters decided to clear up the dining room to prepare for the next day noting that there were several other guests besides us having dinner that evening; which was extremely noisy and unpleasant - unacceptable behavior for a restaurant of this standing. To top it off, when we decided to call it a night after a long day of travel, I was surprised to find out that the aircondition cannot be switched on! I was told by the receptionist that it is central and will not be switched on till summer, this was extremely annoying as the room was pretty hot, thus had to revert to opening the window, as a result both my wife and I had mosquito bites in the morning. For what we were being charged, you should be doing a much better job by far!

Villa Igea has definitely had its best days and is now ageing like a Grand old Lady. The Villa is in desperate need of renovation if it wants to keep in acceptable shape. The sträng Scirocco revealed crackling windows and ceilings etc. The excellent staff tried to make up for everything with their competence and friendlyness. Hope to be back Ehen the place is renovated...

We stayed for 4 days but on arrival found we could not take a hot shower. We were informed by reception staff that it was a problem that affected the entire hotel but they were working to fix it. The same explanation was offered each day but the repair was not carried out during our stay. Hot water is essential for cleanliness (especially for those with certain medical conditions) but the hotel management appeared indifferent - no apology was offered although a 10% reduction in the bill was made at the time of our departure. We would have preferred to have been advised of the problem in advance so that we could have taken appropriate action to ensure we had access to appropriate and necessary hygiene facilities

Rooms not made up as requested "1 King-size bed room and 1 Twin beds room, please" and I had to request the bed was charged twice for this to be corrected. The website should be clear that the shuttle service to central Palermo and pool opening are seasonal.

We were at the hotel for a f. reunion. Our room was well-appointed and the bed was one of the most comfortable that we have had in a hotel. The hotel was able to supply electric converters for our plugs (we had brought some but our kids needed some too). The concierge was helpful and informative, suggesting excellent restaurants and site visits, as well as excellent directions! Breakfast was delicious and the outdoor dining was relaxing and beautiful!

The room (104) was well maintained and updated in the classic style. Very comfortable and quiet. Great large deck overlooking the water and marina. Staff were helpful and well trained. The concierge provided excellent recommendations for restaurants. The shuttle to and from downtown was comfortable and the service appreciated.

Hotel seafront setting and gardens offer the best alternative in town even though you need to take a shuttle to go downtown. Drinks or dinner at the terrace with live piano music is a must. Service at the restaurant is first class, the one at the bar and snacks side, not so. Our room, at the garden level wiyh a privare terrace overlookng gardens was ample sized and enjoyable; however you have to walk down and up stairs to reach it. This an hotel to go back again and again.

Had a wonderful time. Breakfast was amazing and breakfast service was friendly. Staff were pleasant and efficient. The hotel and its surrounds are in need of a little TLC but the view from our room and at breakfast were just lovely.

You did not advertise the fact the room was not in the hotel but was in an annex, nor did you advertise that it was a subterranean dungeon that looked *up* onto a carpark. The walls were paper thin, the toilet dripped all night, the wifi was terrible, and the foyer was decorated with odd headless mannequins. The staff could not cope with a full hotel. Breakfast was terrible and the service was worse. This is not a 5-star hotel. Gouging me $700 because it was a last minute booking just makes me think Accor is not good value and should be avoided in the future. I would have been better off at a motel, not even factoring in the exorbitant cost. I should post on tripadvisor to warn others.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was in a great location with great outdoor amenities. Our room was very disappointing, small and had a very, distinct unpleasant smell. Overall for the price we paid it was a bit of a let down

This is NOT a SofitelWe booked this hotel based on our years of staying at Sofitel hotels around the world. This property is very outdated, old and in need of total renovation. We had booked a suite with balcony and as we checked in were told that our suite will not have balcony and there is no chance of changing it. The suite was good size, however very old. The furniture was old as well as the bathroom. The shower had a small glass door and while using it would splash water everywhere.on the last day we had the Do not Disturb sign on the door and one of the hotel employees knocked, then opened the door while I was dressing. This is totally unacceptable and not expected from a Sofitel.Overall we were disappointed from the time we arrive until we left.This is NOT a 5 Star hotel and should not be advertised as such, it is misleading and not worth the money we paid for. At best We would rate this a 3 Starr property.

This hotel is absolutely charming, vintage, old and as everything old it has its own mood; the plumbing is noisy, the safe box has to be checked for opening, last time during storm it rained in our room, but this is part of this extraordinary experience! The staff is so kind that everything is immediately forgot... please do not change anything!

We stayed here for 3 nights. Good in some ways to be out of hustle of Palermo, but then options for dining are limited very much to the hotel. The villa had a grand presence, but needed significant repairs and upkeep. Lights not working, one phone in room non functioning(and still was by end of stay despite reporting), cracks, loose tiles etc. Front desk and pool bar service good. Terrace and restaurant service hopeless. Not sure if arrogance or ineptitude. Young staff busy but older waiters the worst I’ve seen. Similar accomodation and prices to Villa Athena Agrigento and Grand Hotel Ortigia and those places left Villa Igiea for dead. Expected so much more
