It was really good experience, I enjoyed it, the reception was really good and welcoming, they are really nice and i liked my experience. My only concern was a little bit the variety and quality of the food. Other than this, I am really happy that we will be visiting Mercure again soon and organize an event together.

Overall very good. All the staff were very helpful, always polite and happy to talk about Luxor. The location, gardens and bird life was appreciated. The room was pleasant and comfortable. Having the 2 restaurants worked well. It would have been nice to have had less volume of food on offer and a little more variation. The food was always well cooked and presented.

I am a UK pensioner and have been spending holidays in Luxor for 25 yrs and have stayed in many different styles and prices of hotels. I always fancied staying at this hotel when it was owned by Sofitel , but it was to expensive for my budget. However, I noticed it had been renamed Mercure and was more affordable for me and decided to book it. Having completed my holiday, I have to say it was the best hotel experience I have had in Luxor. First of all, I have to have low fat and low sugar foods as far as possible and the chef got skimmed milk and made sugar-free karkaday especially for me plus a banana and an individual pot of tea .And the waiters brought me what I needed every day without asking. I have found it I give a good tip to members of staff who give me special service at the start of my stay, I am well looked after. I don't want to pick out any particular member of staff. They were all fantastic right across the hotel! The Mercure was the first hotel to have REALLY hot water- another very important thing for me. The dinner choice was excellent and chef Ahmed did special requests. They opened the spa early especially for me. I stayed for 2 weeks, had a lovely room and everyone , without exception,went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable!

I enjoyed my stay - the rooms and facilities were great in a picturesque setting and the staff very nice and helpful. The only issue was there was no hot water on my final morning so I couldn’t have a shower.

The only thing that is really getting up my nerves personally speaking which I hate not finding it in hotels that the room floor is tiles, hotel room for me is always luxurious when its floor covered in a carpet.

« A very 'tired' hotel - needs upgrading. »

The staff were kind & helpful! The food was quite good. The location was lovely. My room, although peaceful was far away from amenities. This hotel could be excellent if upgraded. Sadly too few tourists to Egypt at the moment.

the hotel location is really great. i believe the staff was trying to help. Although of that there is a clear cost cutting that is impacting the service as swimming pool is not heated and nile terrace is not lighted or operated. No night activities at all.

« Sad hotel with brown tapwater but good Nile views »

The good thing about this Hotel are the beautiful gardens, the pool and the view on the river Nile. For the rest everything feels hopelessly outdated and under maintained (airco not working). The room had brown water coming out the tap for the first few seconds, the bathrooms felt dirty , the beds very hard. Breakfast had a very poor selection of items, with refills taking a long time. At one point somebody dropped a glass on the floor and it took more than 30 mins before someone to come clean. One morning we wanted to play a game of squash but the halls had been refurbished to meeting rooms. Also the gyms equipment did not work properly, and the room also had a broken air-conditioning. I know this should be a five star hotel, but it's golden years have long ago passed.

The rooms were good and the check in and check out was smooth. The major improvement area for the hotel would be to provide wifi in the rooms and also better the breakfast spread. I stayed only for 2 nights and found everything to be repetitive.
