Comfortable bed, clean room, not so good food, if you eat in restorant, but very tasty and good, if you order room service. Minus - difficult to find electrical plug in, even lamps are connected straight to wall.

Everything from check-in to check-out was an enjoyable experience. We arrived a little before the time we were meant to check-in but the reception staff made and effort to have our room ready asap. The restaurant and bar staff were all amazing as well and they definitely made the stay very welcoming. The facilities look outstanding as well, we didn't get to try everything but it did look really good and the pool was great and fantastic views onto the Nile River. Over all we are extremely satisfied with our stay here because of the friendly staff and incredible facilities and recommend this hotel for anyone going to Luxor

I have been coming to Mercure for many years and always enjoy the experience. Staff are friendly and attentive however it was a shame that the pool bar was only open 2 days, but in saying that bar staff working inside came out periodically to cater for our needs. I have made the Mercure my holiday destination because since my husband died I feel safe on my own there. The staff know me and look after me. Thank you

« Fabulous peaceful hotel :) »

A wonderful peaceful hotel :) Our stay was excellent in almost every way , The thing that let it down . was there was a lot of Eastern guests who arrived late ... They woke up early and woke us up too, They were very loud in the pool and garden from 6.30 am . At breakfast , there was no fruit , no yoghurt left for our breakfast . The person that we asked about this didn't seem too happy to have to go and get more from the kitchen . But the welcome tray and the towel art in the room were very nice touches . Thank you

This was the worst stay for me in Mercure hotel.... How come in 55°C you turn off the Aircondition..... Tourist don't care if about the reason if it because of you try to save some money or it was electrical problem as they said.... If you can't provide good Aircondition .... Please shut down the hotel or at least tell the guests and the company

« Good value & great service but property is tired. »

From was very spacious. Unfortunately the room with single beds smelt terrible - of cigarette smoke. Beds were comfortable. Food was nice but inconsistent. Ordered a club sandwich for lunch & dinner one day & both were completely different!! We gave the buffet breakfast a miss as it didn't look appealing however the Chinese put us off more! The smoking in the foyer gave me a headache. Staff were friendly ESPECIALLY Amer in the Moorish Cafe - please give him our feed back.

A nice hotel with lovely grounds, in a beautiful location next to the nile. Good pool and was very nice. Unfortunately there were not many guests which made it a bit of a ghost town. A mixture of helpful staff but some were a little moody. Loved the decoration of the hotel; the temple theme in the restaurant, Carter’s bar and the rooms. However, the hotel is quite dated and needs new equipment, towels etc. Was very unhappy with the bathroom; it wasnt very clean due to residue around the bath and tiles. The bath had a crack in the bottom and there was a sharp bathmat in there, which when taken out was dirty underneath. Overall a nice stay, felt like an escape from the busy streets of karnak and great place to relax after a nile cruise.

In April 2017 a group of 10 of us stayed at the Mercure Luxor hotel for 2 weeks. We had such a good time that a group of 16 of us returned to Luxor for 2 weeks in April 2018. We stayed at the Mercure Luxor hotel for the first 10 nights of our holiday. As returning guests we received a free upgrade to a suite. The room was spacious with a separate lounge, bedroom and bathroom. We had a large ground floor terrace looking on to the tranquil and pretty gardens. The room upgrade was a nice gesture and great start to our holiday. The hotel staff were genuinely happy to see us again and they couldn't do enough for us. We were treated like VIP's and this made our stay special. Particular thanks to Chef and Walid at the O'Nile restaurant, Ahmed at breakfast, Mohammed and Amer at the bars and Mohammed at the pool. In summary, the Mercure Luxor was very good and we will consider returning again.

« Well appointed room, short on quality assurance »

We really liked the room assigned to our stay at your property, however the stay experience was not up to our expectation. Positives: (A) The rooms were quiet and well laid out, with a good view of the river. (B) They appeared to have all the necessary appliances except for an ironing board and a clothes iron. Negatives: (1) one of the rooms assigned to our stay (# 2048) was not clean enough and felt rather sandy to our feet (2) bathrooms in both rooms (#2047 and #2048) did not have functional showers (3) full pack of toiletries were not included in either room (4) the main entrance door and the bathroom door did not shut or lock in room 2048. (5) the hair dryer in room 2047 was not functional, and its mount was broken. (6) there were no clothes iron or ironing boards in either room. (7) we were told that the swimming pool would feature heated water as we wanted to swim in the morning. But the pool was not clean and the water was not heated when we reached the swimming pool. All said, I would definitely rethink staying at your property again.

1.?Despite reminding every day of the absence of creamer for coffee & tea the house keeping and also the reception was not complying with guest requests all the 4 days Instayes there. 2. There was no cleaning of floor on daily basis as dust & grease on floor was felt by me everyday; 3. Added to (2) above, despite my requests no slipper/Sandels were provided. 4. No moisturiser was provided all the 4 days. Very disappointing despite hotel belonging to Accor group & I having had all such facilities in your various properties.

« "A little luxury away from the city" »

I booked knowing the property is quite a distance from the city however there are many transportation alternatives to get you there. I have already left a comment on trip advisor for the property as well. Check-in was quick and efficient and I even got upgraded to a suite. The original room was meant to be a double with garden view. The living room and the bathroom of the suite were very nice and the bed comfortable however the bedroom looked a bit dated. There was also no patio door or real window so a little dark in the room. I did appreciate the upgrade. The pool area is very nice, the grounds well tended too and it is so nice that it is right on the edge of the Nile. I ate in the a-la carte coffee shop and although I am very aware that prices are always much higher in a hotel than in a outside restaurant it would be so very nice to once see a hotel that offers reasonable food prices. This is a concern for me for all hotels, not just this one. The food was good and unfortunately there were no other nearby choices unless you went back into the city. In the room there was a fridge and the TV had a few english channels which was nice. No wifi in the rooms which I knew upon booking however I say one thing to Mercure hotels-this is 2018 and soon it will be 2020. Internet is now as integral a part of a guest experience as having fresh towels in your room. You need to move into the 21st century. The most disappointing was the breakfast and also the breakfast set-up which for me personally did not match with the rest of the property. This may be my personal opinion but it was not very well presented. They had lovely green salad and no dressing, the juices were heavily watered down, most of the food items in the Baie Marie's were cold, the potatoes were cold and tasteless and so were the beans. I am not sure why but so many 4 star and 5 star hotels I have stayed at in Asia and the Middle East can never seem to keep the flames burning on the Baie Marie's. I am traveling for four years and between staying with friends and family stay in hotels on average 200 days of the year so all this is coming from real experience. Overall it was a comfortable and relaxing stay for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the grounds. All the staff were very polite and not just professional but genuinely friendly.

Relaxed hotel, shame wi-fi was not available in rooms even if extra cost. Not exited about the restaurant buffets. Would be nice to have an a la C.'s grill. Location & grounds brilliant. A green paradise with spectacular views of Nile. Pools lovely and all the staff from reception to gardeners friendly and helpful. You need more Western visitors. Let's hope !

« It's OK, worth of its price »

Only one night there, facilities inside the room is good compared with room price. Location is not convenient for sightseeing, far away from downtown. Sofitel would have been a better chioce. As a gold member, no room upgrade, no free WIFI inside room, only a plate of fruit. It's OK, I don't care about that. Buffet dinner is not worth of its price. The lady at the desk besides enterance of the hotel is very enthusiasm and professional. Sorry for not remembering her name. Other staff workers are very common without warmth.

« Not bad, yet not as expected »

The hotel location is one of the best in Luxor with no doubt, yet i think it needs a lot of work on customer service and cleanliness, specially the receptionists. The only great receptionist there i have met was Rita Rizk and the gentleman who helped me check out on the 25th around 5:30 am sadly i didn’t catch his name. All the others made me feel im in a motel definitely not a 5 stars hotel.
