« Perfect stay. Exceptional housekeeping »

I am a Hilton honors member because Accor doesn’t have as good a loyalty program and their online system is less user friendly. Since there is no Hilton property in Wiesbaden, I decided to try the Mercure hotel. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and spend a lot of time in hotels. As of this year, I would have stayed at the Mercure for more 3 weeks. I have never had better housekeeping service before. I work in my room a lot and eat in my room a lot. I also do the horrid thing of leaving my room late in the afternoon. Regardless, housekeeping was always friendly. They noticed that I drink a lot of coffee and leave extra capsules. They line my bin because I eat in the room. I believe my housekeeper’s name is called Dragen. The reception staff was also very courteous except one who is slightly rough around the edges. They held my amazon package for me and dealt with all my requests extremely efficiently. Thank you Sacha, Frau Kapour, Rupprect for the politeness and help. ( I hope I spelled their names right) The only light problem I have would be the pillow. I sleep on my back and the pillows are too high. Also, the bed is a bit soft by American standard. I would like to thank the hotel for the pleasant stay.

« A positive experience with some issues »

Positive - staff were helpful, lobby is attractive, breakfast was impressive Issues: 1. Hotel was uncomfortably warm 2. Temperature control in room was ineffective 3. Instructions to get to gym were unhelpful. 4. Staff to staff communication was faulty. I had to "check in" and swipe my credit card multiple times.

I am a regular visitor to this hotel, so like the convenient location and the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. One thing that both myself and my colleague who travels with me love is the breakfast. But we have recently noticed from our last two visits that you are adding salt to the scrambled eggs that we love so much. This has really ruined the breakfast for us, the eggs are now far too salty. As we always dine in the bar for our dinner, it would be nice if the menu changed occasionally. Other than that, lovely staff, lovely hotel and always a lovely welcome.

« Poor Stay for Business Travel »

I never write reviews of the hotels I stay in as my repeated business speaks for itself. But this hotel was so poor I felt I needed to do the review. To begin with, the coffee maker was broken & the desk staff insisted it worked. They finally gave me a new one. Then, the room was supposed to have a mini-refrig. but that didn't work either & they finally replaced that with one of those small commercial "coolers" from the breakfast area (lit up at night & I had to turn it towards the wall & cover it so I could sleep). The "human factors" logistics of the rooms are terrible for a "working" stay - lighting is awful, the desk arrangement with chair (which is too low for the desk) was almost impossible to deal with as there was no space to pull the chair out in order to sit down! Finally, I sent out some laundry to be washed & they overcharged me (expensive to begin with) and left some laundry in my room that wasn't mine. Overall, I wouldn't go near this place again!

The hotel is located in a great area with plenty of great restaurants close by. The people working at the restaurant are very fluent in English and extremely nice and accommodating. I have used this hotel in the past and will continue to use it.

I enjoyed the stay at the hotel along with the amenities the hotel had to offer. This is my third time staying at the hotel and each time there is some type of construction or renovation. In the future it would be nice to see a completed gym facility.

The biggest downfall was the construction occurring in the spa. I am also awaiting a response to receive a new updated folio because I was double-charged for an early check-in and I need a new bill reflecting the correct dollar amount I paid in order to submit to my company for reimbursement.

First of all I always enjoy staying at this hotel while in Wiesbaden. Unfortunately this stay had a few errors from the start. I booked a king privilege room and was put into room 309 which is the same size of a standard room. I have always stayed in a much bigger room when reserving king privilege. This room had damage around the inside door frame, lamp shades damaged, bathroom ceiling stained and damaged. We only had one robe which another was later delivered. A welcome note was provided to us later that evening. We had late check out the next day but our belongings to include suitcases were moved around while at breakfast just so they could clean the room, even though we hung a do not disturb sign on our door. Having platinum Status and experiencing this was very disturbing. On another note! Your bar staff and front desk staff always remain professional which is very nice. I hope my experience is better next time. Kevin A.

Overall Ok-ish, but elevators are weird (when you arrive form parking lot and push button for elevator, the elevator at the other site of the plastic curtain ( maintenance going on?) comes down. You cannot see that but hear the bell. No signs that you should take that one, but if you don's you will never get to the reception. Next; if you want to go down to the parking lot only 2 elevators go there, if you call for an elevator and the other one comes up you cannot go down, so you send that one to the 5th floor other wise it will keep coming up. Next; rooms are very noisy looks like carton wall, no value for money...

We returned to the hotel after three year absence, the refurbishment has lifted the hotel to a very high standard. Staff very helpful, gave good guidance on places to eat and see. A relaxing public area after touring the town.
