We enjoyed our stay at Mercure Goulburn during our recent trip through NSW. We stayed for one night on our way north and again one night on our way back south. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Very comfortable beds, cosy and quiet room ensured a good nights rest. The only problem we encountered was that on our return visit, the room had a different bathroom layout and the design of the shower enclosure meant that water splashed/leaked onto the bathroom floor. We would definitely stay at this motel again, but would ask for a room without a corner shower unit.

We were passing through and decided to stay at Mercure Goulburn. The outstanding thing of our stay was dinner, we just didn't expect such great food. We had the calamari entree and the fish and duck as mains. Compliments to the chef, do what you can to keep him.

Our room was clean which is great. I was disappointed that there was soooo much cold wind coming under our front door... no door snake seal provided or effective seal on the door. Considering we were staying at a Mercure in Goulburn in winter I expected this to be better. We used towels and cushions to try and stop the cold wind coming under the door. Also the wait time at dinner was extremely long... the restaurant was packed we made a dinner booking for an early dinner one week before our arrival to try and make sure it went smoothly as I knew our kids would be tired. Simply not enough staff rostered on to deal with the high number of customers. The staff were extremely busy and doing their best however unable to keep waiting times reasonable.

Staff were very helpful. I had a late arrival and they kept reception open an extra 10-15 mins to greet me. I would stay here again based on that as this is a stop over point for me and can’t always get there earlier.

We stayed there on the way to Port Macquarie and on return to home. On the return trip we were given a complementary upgrade which we really appreciated. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff are friendly and ever so welcoming and helpful.

Very friendly staff on check in and departure. Nice room. I didn’t eat in for breakfast, instead I grabbed a quick bite just down the road at the fantastic local bakery as I had an early start for work. The breakfast at the hotel was also a short drive from my room so it was easier to just keep driving. Heating in the bathroom would be good especially as I was there prior to winter, but otherwise the rooms were very nice and very large.

« A relaxing stay in Goulburn »

On our way down to Canberra we decided to stay in Goulburn for the night & have a look around this country town. We were so happy we did. The Mercure Goulburn is very modern hotel situated on the outskirts of Goulburn. On arrival we were greated by very friendly staff. We were offered an upgrade on our room which we found to be very big, clean & warm. We went for a brisk walk at sunset & to see the sun setting over the countryside was breathtaking. The Big Marino is just nearby so it was nice to go & have a look at the beautiful Australian wool products & fun to walk up the stairs & look at Goulburn through the Big Marino’s Eyes. For dinner we went into the dining room at the Mercure & the food was delicious. After a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed & a quiet location we went down to “Roses Cafe” in the town of Goulburn & had a beaut breakfast before commencing our journey into Canberra. I would highly recommend the Mercure at Goulburn. If you stay here you will be very happy travellers.

Room was lovely. Although there was a horribly smell (sewerage small) that was overpowering and could not be ignored. Other issue was that beds were so sagged in the middle that it was hard to sleep. Other than that it was fine.
