i was disappointing to discover how dated and drab the hotel was. The old brown doors on the rooms didnt help. I had hoped for a cooked breakfast. The area for eating your evening meal is cold and drab. Its also very open to anyone who walks into the hotel as there is no partition between the reception and the bar area. Everyone is looking to see what you're eating. On that note, is everything microwaved ?? I opened my curtains in the morning to see two faces looking up at me and smoking. Nice.

Staff were very friendly, but the hotel is tired and in need of some upkeep, the carpet in my room was filthy, I was greeted by an awful smell when I opened the door, the bathroom needs attention

Stayed close to Family for a family occasion... easy to access, room was basic,the bathroom could do with updating but served a purpose.... breakfast was a bonus although a bit of bacon would have been nice.

We booked for two nights but only stayed one. The first room we stayed in, we can hear the music from the next building, very loud. We asked if we can change rooms and they gave us another room. In the second room the window didn't close properly... The cleaning in both rooms was very bad. In the morning we wake up by the fire alarm that started out of nowhere. Absolutely horrible

Our first room (103) was disappointing as it smelled unpleasant. We were moved and were very satisfied. The reception staff were pleasant and very helpful. Parking was limited and although we paid for two nights parking we got a lift to the hotel on the second night. Ibis is always our first choice but we have, in the past, been priced out.

We use these hotel frequently because it offers good VFM. It has car parking which is invaluable. One can walk into town in about 25 minutes or to our favourite Reading restaurant (River Spice) in 50 minutes. We always feel safe when walking in the area. The hotel staff are great - very friendly and helpful. On one occasion, we padlocked our case shut and lost the key - not a problem, the hotel handyman had massive bolt cutters and soon opened the case for us. The rooms are fine; although a little tired, the plugs have USB charging sockets on them and we have had many good stays here. Downstairs there is good wheelchair access, but not sure if there are any rooms with showers or toilets for poorly able folk. Breakfasts are OK, but not as good as one year ago when a hot breakfast was included for free. We have stayed here about 5 times and have no hestitation in staying again. But be aware that there are other Ibis hotels in Reading, so do not muddle them up; I am sure that the others are nice, but they do not have car parking

Bad plumbing - non functioning plug in bathroom sink, very smelly. In shower Sunday morning when the water cut out. Staff flustered and offered no apology....not good. However good breakfast, good coffee and the cleaners do a very good job considering the state of the fabric of the building.

Another week at the Ibis Styles Oxford road with very helpful staff. We had a cheap and relaxing stay with good food with drinks at the Bar during opening times room service was good nice clean room every day with refreshments topped up. again a few improvements to the breakfast room making it more efficient hopefully we will be back next year health permitting.

dusty, bathroom not clean! Window with wallview and extremely cold without possibility to heat the room No way. I was travelling for business reason and this hotel is not what I need after flight and work day out of my city!

They gave me twin single bed instead of queen bed i booked on first night.

I booked 2 night for business trip with 1 queen size bed. But when i arrived at my room it has twin single bed not a 1 queen bed. I asked to change the room but staffs said they can't because of fully booked. They changed the my room to queen size bed room for only second night.

Filthy, dilapidated, impossible to park, all the charm (and cleanliness) of a 1970s YMCA! Room was grim... absolutely filthy... the carpet is probably used to train new forensic students. Bathroom was disgraceful... damp and disgusting, poor upkeep and very old fashioned. Proving IBIS management are asleep at the wheel with this location! I Regularly stay at other IBIS across UK and Europe... but this is the worst I’ve ever seen... tired and uncared for... Room stank of stale food, paper thin walls so you can enjoy the snoring of fellow inmates. Nothing to commend this flee pit... off for a chemical wash now! One word of advice: AVOID!!!
