Where do you start! DIrty bathroom, no hot water, pitiful breakfast, bedroom smelled of damp, mattress sagging in middle made for a fifth night of sleep.

i booked a room with dinner and breakfast to arrive to find out they don't do dinner on a Saturday night. the staff managed to cook me a panini with chip which took 45 minutes as there was 2 staff on which had to do the reception, bar and the dinners. the bed was rock hard along with the pillows. I woke up on the sunday to find no hot water at 05:30am. How ??

« Customer Service is top class. Staff could not do enough for us. »

On arrival we were allocated a family room but it was too small for us with a 12 year old and a 9 year old. We asked at reception when we were on the way out if there was another room available. On our return they had found us a great room and moved all our luggage (half of which was unpacked) and left it in our new room the exact same way we had left it. We were delighted. The breakfast is great. Continental buffet style plus scrambled eggs, beans and sausages and all were lovely. The beds were lovely to sleep in. The rooms were warm, but all of Reading was hot at 31 degrees last weekend, so not the hotels fault. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to our return. Well done to all staff on making our stay so comfortable.

« Very very disappointed with the room which spoilt my weekend. »

This was the third time I have stayed at your hotel and enjoyed both previous times with a nice sized room and very happy with the service. BUT this time, our room was in the very top of the building, a very small room which was boiling hot. I realise that nothing can be done about the weather but it was very claustrophobic (the windows only opened a tiny amount which was not enough to let any air in). I did ask the receptionist if we could move room but was told that was not possible. I don't know why not as the hotel was still advertising as rooms available. We were given a fan which helped with the heat. There were no electrical sockets in the room other than two by the television. So nowhere to plug phones etc in without turning fan off. The pillows were very hard and to be honest, with the noise of the fan and racket from outside I had very little sleep. I do not usually complain but feel that my weekend was spoiled by the room.

Your acessible rooms are only acessable by name , i could not get a shower , because of the huge step , to get in it , the bed was un seep able, because itvwas do hard , even though it nad a foam matress and soft matress topper on it , the pillows were like sleeping on bricks , the whole bathroom was grimmey , the shower pull knob on the tap head didnt have a knob to pull it up , to activate the showerb, the carpet , on the corridoor floor was un even and bulging up high in several places, and downright dangerous , sobbad that if you dont fix it immeadiatly , someone will trip over the raised lumps , hurt themselves and sue you , the only good bits were the helpfull and amazing staff and the breakfast , i am certainly thinking of cancelling my membership of the accors group , on the basis of this debacle and will certainly never stay there again

« It served the purpose »

For the price we paid, it was fine and served the purpose. We were staying in Reading for a hen party so needed somewhere to crash. Sadly I could not find any parking at the hotel and drove around for 30 minutes or so trying to find an alternative in the surrounding area. Outside the hotel in the morning (from approx 9am) there was extremely loud works going on which was not great as we got woken up by this. The breakfast included is fine, nothing amazing but there is a lot of choice which is nice.

First off.......on arrival the receptionist could not find my booking, had to get another member of staff to help. Then I was put in one of the noisciest rooms, after requesting a quiet room. Went back to reception and was moved. The room was lovely, but very warm. Had to get a fan from reception. Breakfast was very nice, but with lack of staff , they kept running out of things. Also, when u went to the bar at night there was often no staff to be seen. It's a nice hotel, just under staffed.

« OK but we didn’t like the people who hung around outside smoking and drinking at night. »

OK but one night you allowed someone to park up against the lift at the front door. My wife is wheelchair bound and we could not get her onto the lift platform. Although everyone has to register their car registration number your staff did not know which car belonged to which guest so they were unable to contact the relevant guest to ask him to move his car. We had the prospect of spending the night in the car.
