My colleague Dr Asha Peters flew in to London from Dubai. She reached the hotel morning around 9 am. The front office staff treated her very badly, when she asked for a early check-in and was willing to pay additional early check-in fee if required. The front office staff kept her waiting stating that they could not find her booking, even though she furnished the booking number they could not find. They kept her waiting for 3 hours.

Arrived late at night approx 11:30pm to check in. The gentleman who checked me in was efficient and quick, very polite and explained all the necessary facilities to me, including that the bar would close at midnight. I dropped my case into my room, and quickly went to the bar to order a drink and sandwhich, where I was told I could not order any food from the bar (approx 23:40) and told to order from reception. I did this, and although not a huge problem, the bar staff member seemed very dismissive and pre-occupied with closing the bar. The room allocated, although what was booked, was less than what I would expect from a Mercure hotel, especially in the Heathrow area, where generally accommodation is of a good standard. The room was small, cramped and in need of an upgrade (room 014). I have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions, and can say that on those occasion the rooms have been at a much great level of comfort. I requested a late check out, which if available is complimentary for platinum card holders, I required an extra two hours (check out at 2pm) and so requested this at reception, to be told that the cost would £15 but reduced to £10 as a gesture, I had to explain that I was platinum, to which I was told I could then stay without charge. All in all an adequate stay for a short amount of time, however a few disappointing aspects which could of made for a more comfortable stay, especially as arriving late.

« No apology for room intrusion »

When entering my room I put the door lock on. It seems that another guest was assigned my room. They must have returned to the front desk when they could not enter. THE SAME PERSON WHO CHECKED ME INTO THE ROOM then bypassed the lock, disturbing me in bed. When I raised this the next morning with the female staff member who checked me out, I asked for an email to be sent to me clarifying the reason for this intrusion. Despite confirming with me what my email address was, the staff member made random squiqqles and I was sure I would receive no such email. I was proven right.

Well the fact that you have sent me a link for a 'Y. Diamond' when I am Elizabeth Muchegwa and booked under my own name sums up the stay. Firstly I am sure this is breaching data of some sort. Secondly I wonder which Tom or Jill received a guest feedback form with my name on it. Back to the stay itself. The room was basic and the AC was temperamental which we learn to adjust too as it was the middle of the night. I asked for an ice bucket on arrival from the bar but was handed a Budweiser bucket with a lime of black dirt at the bottom. I simply handed it back and said that is fine. The guy did bring a fresh bucket to the room after calling down. we previously stayed here a few weeks ago and we couldn't fault anything but this stay was so disappointing, but that is something which we can overlook. One thing which is extremely worrying why I am receiving someone else's guest feedback form?!

My stay at the hotel was ruined by a mass of noise from the room above our room at 2:30am. I rang reception and they did sort it out at the time but I will seriously be considering not staying at the hotel again.

« Fairly reasonable hotel, the rooms need updating,some rather elderly looking aspects to the bathrooms. »

The check in experience was good though, on check out, I had not paid for certain items which should have been charged on check in. The room as small and the bathroom tiny. Some of the aspects of the bathroom needed attention to them. There was evidence of mould. The remote for the Th was problematic ( often due to the batteries not being changed regularly.

« An excellent overnight stay for early morning flight »

We stayed in room 86 which was a modern spacious twin room with roomy bathroom. A great improvement on a previous stay where the twin room was so small there was no space anywhere to put the cases and open them other than on the bed. This time plenty of room to leave a case open on the floor. We took the two course meal in the restaurant which was good value and great food. Would certainly return again if the better type of room is available but not for a small room.

2nd time we've been here just for an overnight stay. Room more than adequate, but minor issues (this time a toilet roll holder that was broken allowing the paper to fall on the floor when you tried to use it). Seems the cleaners don't report, or there are no mechanics doing minor repairs). Dinner was good, but help yourself breakfast below par.

The room overlooked a motorway. Traffic was very loud and so I did not sleep well. While not arranged by the hotel, I found the Hoppa bus very inconvenient. Including the waiting time and the travel, it took over 90 mins to get to the hotel from terminal 2. This was a shock given the short distance. Could Mercure not provide a more convenient transfer system to the hotel?

I stay here every year in September for a local school reunion (which is next weekend). Stayed here on 1st Sept for a wedding. I wouldn’t stay in any other hotel in the area.
