« Value for money in Rio »

Spectacular view from the rooms at the front - with 16 lanes of traffic double glazing would have been a good idea ! Location in Botafogo suited us well. Not the most successful of interior designs for a Novotel though. Seem to have condensation or leak problems in at least some rooms. Also has a wonderful view of the toilets just as you enter the restaurant - closing door would help this.

The room condition and the unskilled personnel working at the hotel made the experience extremely dissatisfied. I had neve experienced such bad conditions in over 30 years travelling.

1. My room (Room No. 375) had condensation problems on the floor whenever I switched off the air-conditioning system. 2. No complimentary mineral water was provided. I was charged for using the mineral water from the cooler. 3. Only one English channel on TV?

« Still good, but the clean was worst. »

I stayed in this hotel many times, but in the last time I had a problem with the clean. When I arrived the chair and the cups of the room were dirty. The room smelt bad too. I think that the Accor was minimized the clean service. Well, the others services are OK, mainly the reception.

« Stylish and new hotel with good standard and very good location »

The hotel is relatively new and the rooms spacious and stylish. Just as the lobby including a bar and big TV screen is. The bathroom was a little bit worn-out. But nevertheless the standard is quite good for a hotel in Rio. Breakfast is good - I only missed a good Cappuccino. Location is everything at this hotel. Located in Botafogo iyou have easy access to the nearby shopping mall and with the metro only 200m away, the whole city is easy to explore. Friendly and English speaking staff available at the reception.

« to avoid! NOT a Novotel level, may be a Ibis budget? »

Hotel is located in front of the "sugar bread" meanwhile 90% of the room will have 1m view on the neighbored building. It is the first hotel I stay in, where I understand that economies were done even when building the hotel. Poor materials, air conditioning losing water on the floor, the doors of the bathroom, are not "real doors" but "lockers doors", the floor in the shower is not properly done, and the water flows outside the shower cabin, ... You are provided dirty towels, and single bed sheets; have a look on the mattress, you will understand... 1 iron available for the whole hotel, then, expect to be told that you are on waiting list to get it. By the way, it is a "travel" iron. I stayed 2 days, and the lunch of my neighbor stayed 2 days on the floor inn the corridor. I neither didn't notice any personnel vacuuming during my stay. It may explain why the floor was so dirty. Staff is not helpful, and very busy with papers at your arrival to grant you a smile.

« Disappointing »

I was in the lobby with a friend a went to the bar and requested a bottle of water and asked to be add to my room's bill.The lobby bar attendant replied that he could not I explained that at the moment I have no cash on me and would ask him to wait my guest to leave the hall and I would sort it out.I went to a more private area on the hotel's lobby the bar attendant left his area followed me interrupt my chat in abrupt , rude and arrogant way and demanded the payment straight away , than whilst talking he changed his mind and set a time for the payment.He left us leaving myself over embarrassed.Following my friends departure I went upstairs to colect the payment (as a platinum card holder I had a welcome drink voucher) I hand it to the lobby bar attendant and he said something unpleasant which I ignore.I remain at your disposal for any further information you might need.During my check out I told the above and also offered to write down a easy step-by-step on how to deal with the customers.

I found bad smell at the elevators, at the room itself, and outside the entrance. all different smells, it shows lack of hygene.

the bedroom was very dirty with hair all over the floor and some stains that looked like water but were melted on the floor. I had a very bad experience, the shower had hair all over and the room smelled like urine at night. I dont know why.
