« very good bed very good pillows »

about 2 months no major issues need to improve : - silence of maid when cleaving room early in the morning - maids cannot forget to add the laundry bags or the nespresso coffee - kitchen cannot run out of butter or honey !! or brown bread !

Everything was new and very clean. I really enjoyed the bathroom with a glass view for the bed. However I didn't like the breakfast. At 9:50AM the food was almost gone and no one was putting back some more. It looked like that the breaksfast was done nyt 10:00.

The overall experience at the Novotel Botafogo was excellent. The staff was always very welcoming, extremely helpful and the coffee served was very good. I did have a couple of issues: the WiFi was very slow at times, making it difficult to watch a few simple videos on my phone and in couple instances I saw the lights at the lobby go out even as the rest of the hotel seems fine. I was also kind of disappointed at the lack of beach equipment to lend to hotel guests. I mean Rio is a coastal city after all, any hotel should have that available.

« A decent place in Botafogo »

We stayed in Novotel RJ Botafogo last 3 nights if 2017 before moving to Copacabana. The difference was pretty notable. Starting from the comfort, service and ending up with the price. Everything here was good. I would suggest upgrade breakfasts.

« Very rude staff »

The second we arrived there was no assistance with our bags or to bring us a cart for our bags. Our driver had to ask them for ge cart. When we arrived no one greeting us. It was Christmas time you would think they would be cheerful. The check in process was so long and dreadful. They could of told us about the children’s area while we waited. We brought our own bags up to the room and the room was hot and humid! Very dissatisfied. The room was very basic and our view was absolutely nothing but a wall. Wasn’t pleased with that either. The hotel location was very far from where the real fun and the good restaurants. The breakfast was horrible. We only ate the fruit when it wasn’t mushy. The hotel room did not even provide potion. We have stayed at Novotel many of times in different countries and they provided everything!! Even down to razors and toothbrushes. Just was very disappointed in this stay.

« Would've wanted a door for the shower and more vegan options for breakfast »

The room overall was good, but I don't get the absence of a door for the shower. Water splashed on the floor outside the shower. Also, breakfast could've included more vegan options. O quarto era bom de forma geral, mas senti falta de uma porta para o box. No dia em que usei o chuveirinho, muita água espirrou para fora do box, molhando o chão. Além disso, senti falta de mais opções veganas no café da manhã.

« to expensive for what it offers »

Nice room and very good staff, but hotel is too expensive for what it offers. The gym for example only has 1 treadmill - it looks like it is only to check the box, just to be able to say it has a gym room... the room service was another issue. besides offering only too few options, when i called to place an order many of the items were not available... I was planning to stay for another week but due to the above i decided to move to the Hilton Copacabana, only R$ 100 more expensive but with much more to offer... if you don´t improve these points or reduce the price I will not plan to return.

« The bald man at the hotel reception »

The bald-head man at the hotel reception is not polite enough. He is rude. Otherwise we would have had a great stay in Rio de Janeiro. I will never go back there at Botafogo Novotel. On the other hand the room attendant and the restaurant staff were very pleasant, excellent.

The bed is good, shower is great and the space is modern and clean. On the other hand the service is not good - room service extremely slow - every time I call the reception before to prepare my check-out, and never is done and I have to wait (even with fast check-out) - the welcome drink they serve for Gold members is ridiculous (water, soft drink or a cheap beer) - the food is so-so

I have stayed multiple times at the Novotel Botafogo for work and have always been very pleased. Walking distance or at least easy access to multiple actvities, friendly staff, reasonable prices comfortable rooms. Great to hand by the bar for a cold beer or a hearty breakfast in the morning

« I was wrongly charged for my business partners and nobody tried to help me »

I made a reservation on my name for this business travel with three other employees from my company, but each one should have paid for himself. When they wanted to pay, some of them were not allowed to use their credit card but instead the amount was wrongly billed on mine. I asked the hotel to change that as it was a mistake but the hotel said they couldn't change that as it was a request from the Travel Agency. The Travel Agency said they did not request for that. Nobody wanted to help me to solve that so I just had to pay and this will represent a huge problem for me as I am not allowed to pay for others hotel. I asked for any proof or confirmation of that request from Travel Agency so that I can attach on my expense report but I was denied, so I am not sure whose fault is that as both (hotel and Travel Agency) say it's not their fault but none of them cares to prove that. My managers are aware of this and will contact the Travel Agency and probably the hotel as well if nothing can be done to help me to solve that. By the way: no complaints about the room and restaurant: they are just excellent. Unfortunately my experience was influenced for that non solved issue.
