« Recent stay in Kakadu »

A pleasant stay with a spacious room and good food. No lift to 1st floor means you have to drag your suitcase up the stairs.

« Pretty good »

Staff were mostly excellent - in particular Michael on the front desk, as well as the lady who checked us in and another lady that helped with tour questions. Very friendly. Hotel itself seems quite expensive, I guess based on the location. The pool area needs to be nicer... the roof looks a bit tatty and makes the pool seem dark and green. The restaurant area really needs to have some room dividers (to stop it feeling like a barn) and maybe some music (for some personality). The bar area had a nice atmosphere. Some more outdoor seating, not just for smoking, would be excellent . Again, staff were friendly and helpful. The team were great also arranging a cake for my partner Jeff's birthday which was brilliant. Unfortunately I forgot to add my accor-card number to my booking.

« Dissapointing »

WE thought Mercury would be OK 4 star was reassuring. Not impressed with room s on upper level and no lift or porter service.(not good for over 80 year olds) Evening meals had to be booked in advance. Hot meals weren't hot. Morning buffet food not kept replenished. Room service subject to a $5 surcharge unless you came and picked it up

« What an amazing place to stay...best value and service in the Northern Territory. »

From check in to check out the staff could not of been friendlier or more helpful. the rooms were larger and cleaner than other hotels.the energy saving concepts great. The overall layout of the hotel was novel but very practical and pleasant. The restaurants food was perfect, fresh and tasty, again serving staff excellent. pleased the breakfast was fresh and not the normal tired buffet staff very attentive to restocking and maintaining the freshness of the buffet. Stayed in several more expensive resorts in the NT and this was hands down the best.

One night only but everything was customer friendly and service was helpful and smiley, the layout of the rooms providing easy access to all facilities made the stay a breeze.

« Helpfull staff and comfortable »

We enjoyed our stay but found the hotel to be ageing and needing a facelift, the passageways needed sweeping and more care taken. We found the staff very helpfull and friendly.

Hotel is run down and needs to be renovated. Rust in the bathroom and beds way too small.

« Was very pleasant. We enjoyed using the facilities like the pool and restaurant. »

Despite the fact that we had an enjoyable experience there are a couple of matters that require attention. Areas that require specific attention are the bathrooms in the rooms we stayed in. There was mould in the grout joins and some red staining on the bath surface. There are cleaning products that could deal with these issues quite easily. The central courtyard could also be tidied and maintained to a higher standard. Lounges should be repositioned neatly at the start of each day and the water feature requires cleaning to bring it up to a standard that reflects the quality of your hotel. Finally, we enjoyed the buffet dining but we're put off by the flies that were circling around the food containers.

Very helpful & friendly staff, basic accommodation which is a bit tired now, but all you need for a bed & a shower. Food was reasonable & good location for the sightseeing. I'd recommend staying here.

Overall quite good. Rusty door frame & calcium deposit on the shower head didn't correlate with how expensive the room was

« Staying in The top End Croc »

Upon arriving at this massive crocodile shaped hotel was just amazing, like and oasis in the desert. Our room opened up to the pool so that was a double bonus.

« Overall a great experience. »

We only stayed one night so it is always hard to judge a hotel on just a 'one night stand'. Overall it was a good experience and staff did genuinely try to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Some feedback for consideration: We got a confirmation call the night before which was good. It would have been helpful if when this call was made that we were encouraged to book a time for dinner as when we arrived at the hotel there were only a few later slots for dinner (we had asked the question but had been told that it will be ok to book when we checked-in). Our bookings clearly showed children so it meant hungry children!! When we got to the restaurant for our booking, it seemed that another group of nine had accidentally been given our table so we had to wait a further half an hour for a table. Yes, it was a mistake, but perhaps a round of drinks or nibbles could have been offered at that time. When we got to our table it was then a further half an hour before we could get a waiter to actually take our order. By this times, everyone was a bit annoyed to say the least. Then came the advice on ordering that a few of the items we wanted were no longer available - that would have been handy to know when the menus were delivered to the table. The saving grace was that the food was excellent and arrived in a timely fashion once we had ordered! Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Having grown up in hotels and worked for many years in the hotel industry both in NSW and in the NT, I understand the peak season and it's challenges with staffing, however it was clearly evident at both dinner and breakfast that the staff were worked off their feet. Our thanks to them for their great service despite those challenges. The check-in and check-out process was exceptional and I don't think that could be faulted!

« It's okay. »

Check in experience was very good with every thing was waiting for our Check in. We had to book dinner, which I thought was unusual, we were told that there was no dinner buffet available but when we arrived at the bar , we noticed that there was a buffet of some sort organised. We later found out this was only available to a tour group. A small suggestion would be that you cordon off an area in a private room or hall for these type of functions , we weren't the only people to quiery the buffet setup. After drinks at the bar we rocked up for our table only to be advised that it had been given away to another group who didn't have a booking. We were told to wait 15 minutes. After finally sitting down, the waiter took a very long time to take our orders, we ordered and for a few of us, the mains we wanted were not available or sold out. What we did receive however was good, when it did arrive. Your whole dinner operation and how it is run needs a revamp, for a Mercure, it's absolutely disgraceful. The room was okay, nice and clean, it has a mini bar but no drinks, not sure what that's about. Breakfast was a far better experience and the buffet was good, perhaps a dinner buffet should be brought back. Checkout was good as well.
