« Pleasant staffs, extremely dated hotel. »

Complimentary water should be offered. All lamp shades in room literally had water stains on them. Room overall is extremely dated. I noticed someone previously must have smashed a bug on wall above window; it remained there all week. Pushing together two single beds is a cheap way to make a double bed. You could feel the crack separating the two while laying on the bed. Slow internet as well!

Whilst staff were courteous and helpful the hotel creates a jaded impression. Lots of surfaces, door jambs, coffee tables and the like were damaged or poorly maintained. The buffet breakfast was poor with limited choice and somewhat stodgy. The room itself seemed clean although there were scuff marks on the walls and marks on other surfaces.

The staff provided the highlights to our stay. My role was to manage 20 x 15 year old sportsman representing Queensland, and the staff members of Novotel Norwest were outstanding. They could not have been more helpful, and ensured our sometimes demanding requests were fulfilled. The breakfast menu was exactly what I expected, especially when feeding almost 250 athletes and staff, but I would suggest fresh fruit, yoghurt and museli be added to fully accomodate the diet of high performance athletes. The pool could be shaded, as the 40c + days had no relief in what felt like a heated pool. The dinners were very fresh and tasty, and both carbohydrate and protein based meals were provided as requested. The only suggestion would be to have a supply of fresh steam vegetables available for all meals, as this would complement the athletes diets. When having two coaches share a room, please do not supply single fold out beds that were as hard as a rock. They were extremely uncomfortable, especially for a twelve night stay. I would certainly stay at Novotel Norwest again.

The room was well appointed and the hotel was beautifully decorated. The staff were extremely friendly and eager to help. We even got an unexpected bottle of champagne and chocolate strawberries to help us celebrate Valentines Day. The only disappointment was the children running along the halls shouting in the early hours of the morning. And a greater selection of meals for dinner in the restaurant would have been an improvement.
