Nice enough room and comfortable bed, but the in-room air conditioning was not very effective. The common parts were also very warm and stuffy. The locaton was good for the office. I checked in online with my credit card and the front of house staff had no idea that my credit card had been pre-authorised to the value of £500. They were asking for a credit card payment at the bar. I also selected the speedy checkout and I still have not received a receipt or invoice two days after checkout. I would usually expect this to arrive by email almost immediately. I am not happy that I will have to chase your organisation for a copy of the invoice. I am booked in for a whole week at tour hotel in December and I am reconsidering my plans given the overall experience.

« So much better than my last stay »

We visit family every 6 weeks and our last stay was very disappointing and my feedback was answered with an offer of a 50% discount. We stayed last week and the overall experience was a lot better from the welcome from reception through to service for breakfast. The quality of the breakfast seems to have improved too. The hotel is always clean. Our kids were given a lovely welcome when we arrived which means a lot. I do think you need to remove your room charges to increase your sales. Myself and my party found the whole experience somewhat underwhelming. Whilst the room[s] themselves were excellent , the occasion was a family get together so we used the hotel public area's a lot. To be honest , it felt like we were in a basic Camapnile. I've used Mercure branch of Accor whilst on business and the public areas and indeed the breakfast area / breakfast food were well below par.Good that the 11 of us were seated in a private room but that and the standard of the rooms are the only redeeming feature of the stay. I would not be in a hurry to use this location again. For a spend of over £700 , my expectations were not met

Thanks for a nice stay on Thursday 25th. I phoned first as i needed to park an 18ton truck, and was helpfully told that there was enough space in the car park. The room was comfy and exactly what i wanted, with a lovely shower. The lovely receptionist, Mary i think, was very friendly and very helpful with a taxi to town, and asking how my evening went. I'll definitely remember to use again when I'm in the area.

Absolutely super! We had booked into an apartment in Sheffield for a girlie shopping trip my my friend.... when we arrived at apartment it was awful... we a Rialto felt so in safe... so we left. I found the mecure and the ladies in reception couldn’t have made us feel so much better. The hotel was clean and safe.... and the ladies on reception where outstanding.... please pass out thanks over to them.

Became lost on my way to hotel - no signage from Sheffield Parkway or through roadworks. Warm we!come. As a woman staying alone in an unknown location, it was important that I was able to remain in the hotel but the food was poor quality and badly cooked. Two breakfasts ordered for my room, first one bacon was burnt (how difficult is it to get bacon right?), the second one did not arrive (on the day I had a plane to catch! Stressful). My expensive steak in the restaurant on Sunday 14th October was cooked well done when I had asked for rare to medium, the chips were awful, the mushroom looked as though it had been hanging around since breakfast, and the sauce arrived half way through my meal. I was also forgotten in the restaurant until I pointed out I wanted to finish my meal. Consequently I had to go out to find better food on Monday 15th October. This is not the standard expected from a 4 star hotel.

I wanted to move my stay by two days. I didn't want a refund. You said the only way was to pay again and lose the money of the original reservation. I found somewhere else and I'll never stay in an Accor hotel again.
