A Saturday night, the whole place busier than I've ever seen it. One poor young lady (with very limited English) trying to cope with reception, the phone, and a full restaurant. One person in the kitchen. We understood an announced 20 minute delay, were less pleased when it took more than half an hour to tell me that they had run out of the dish I ordered. When finally food arrived (not far off two hours later than we wanted to eat), the steak ordered well done was blue, the fish was so overcooked as to be inedible. Much later and more tired than we hoped, we went elsewhere. I felt desperately sorry for the minimal staff, but what a shambles. I'm booked in for October : beds still comfortable and location suits, but next year will be having a serious rethink.

The hotel reception staff were good and friendly hotel was clean the room was a bit small but ok for a overnight. The Breakfast was poor no sliced bread for toast.

Usual zany Ibis Style decor, pleasant staff, good restaurant, large portions. However, my bathroom was well below expected Ibis standards, paint peeling from tiles around the washbasin and a broken toilet seat are not acceptable. This hotel is tired and needs attention.

Friendly staff. Disappointed restaurant is closed on a Sunday evening . Some problems with the room but we were generally satisfied with the hotel which was our second visit.

i always stay with Ibis whenever possible. However, since the withdrawal of the written sites directory, it makes it quite difficult to book in advance when there is no internet available with my pay as you go mobile phone. Traffic conditions can sometimes cause bad delays too.

« Disappointing to say the least »

After a long and exhausting journey all we wanted was a hot drink, some hot food and catch up on our e-mails. NO COFFEE SACHETS, NO ENGLISH TEA BAGS, NO WATER IN THE DISPENSER, NO INTERNET CONNECTION and NO ENGLISH INTERPRETATION OF THE PLÂT DE JOUR. Young staff couldn’t speak English so very unhelpful. Also noticed the complimentary sweet jars were empty. We’ve stayed at Ibis Styles Chartres on a number of occasions and never been treated like this before. A complete shambles. Staff should have at least the bare minimum of another language, after all a fair number of the guests are visiting France from another country. We will be staying in B&B Hotel next door from now on.

No problem with the room or bed and breakfast was fine. Dinner was adequate for the amount paid, but the waiting staff need an awful lot more training

Staff good and friendly, spoke good English so we couldn’t practice our French! Problem with our booking, we had been booked in for the next day, quickly resolved. We were given a disabled person room on the ground floor as we had our dog with us. The only problem they couldn’t fix was that the restaurant was closed and we could not take our dog in the car as it was so hot. We left our mobile number with reception in case he became distressed and ate at the Hippopotamus - adequate but disappointing. When we returned we were told that our dog had been barking but was now quiet. We are going to have to work out where to stay now as having a meal in the hotel is now essential. Disappointing.
