Staff good and friendly, spoke good English so we couldn’t practice our French! Problem with our booking, we had been booked in for the next day, quickly resolved. We were given a disabled person room on the ground floor as we had our dog with us. The only problem they couldn’t fix was that the restaurant was closed and we could not take our dog in the car as it was so hot. We left our mobile number with reception in case he became distressed and ate at the Hippopotamus - adequate but disappointing. When we returned we were told that our dog had been barking but was now quiet. We are going to have to work out where to stay now as having a meal in the hotel is now essential. Disappointing.

« very small basic room and very small and basic bathroom and no style at all »

We were very dissapointed with the hotel as the bedrooms were very very small, the whole experiance of the hotel and rooms was not a hotel with style as its name suggests. The bathroom was small and shoddy and the furniture which was very basic and cheap was I suppose the style in the title of the hotel chain and a painted oicture on the wall

Dear Madam, Thank you for reviewing our hotel. We feel sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at our hotel even if you did appreciate the quality of our staff. We are a three stars hotel. You can find hotel with a bigger bathroom, room, or a better quality but at a four or five stars range. Our hotel architecture is in a modern industrial look, as our restaurant. I would not reccomend this hotel chain to anyone, they claim style and charge for it but there is no style at all except a few industrial type pieces of furniture. The rooms are very very small and very basic, and the bathroom is worse.

« Good hotel stay despite breakfast entertainment! »

As usual, a comfortable guest room, good service from attentive staff, value for money dinner in the restaraunt. Only one complaint, relating to a coach trip of Chinese tourist at breakfast. 50 odd guest arriving for a buffet breakfast within 10 minutes, and only two staff trying to cope, just doesn't work. We are understanding regular customers, but I guess many guests would think twice about using the hotel again.

As always very good except this time water running out of bottom of shower, making floor slippery. NOT GOOD. Lady on reception she has been there 15 to 20 years in total. Is very nice and helpful We had to go out for food as you are closed on Saturday night Long drive didn’t want to go out , but hungry.

« In need of TLC »

Arrived on a Saturday evening to find the restaurant closed (apparently it doesn't open on the weekend). Luckily, there is a Hippopotamus place over the road. The place felt a little rub down and poorly finished. In the bathroom, paint was peeling off the tiles, which had obviously been a cheap fix during the last makeover! However, the room was clean, and the bed comfortable, Breakfast was reasonable, with a good choice

As you mention it, there is restaurants, just accross our street, where you can enjoy a dinner. We have chosen to hire a full-time technician to take care of our bathroom and upgrade our rooms. Although the hotel is well situated and easy to find, It seemed a bit shabby in places. Paint was peeling off in the bathroom, where the original tiles had been painted over and the general appearance of the place was that it needed a revamp. The advertised on site restaurant was closed, and apparently does not open on the weekend

We've stayed here before and it's a good hotel with very helpful staff , the only problem we had was after a long drive and the weather hitting 32 degrees the air conditioning in the room wasn't working. , we reported it to the receptionist and went out for dinner , when we came back she told us she'd changed the remote control for the unit and it was now working, we went to the room and the unit was putting out a low ammount of cold air , we sat and watched TV but the heat in the room wasn't coming down , we decided because of the late hour we would just keep the window open , unfortunately the hotel is near a motorway and another busy road so the noise meant we had a sleepless night , so we were weary for our next days journey.

Dear Sir, Thank you for reviewing our hotel ibis Styles Chartres. We had, the week of you stay, a changing weather with big temperature's gap (between 12°C to 32°C). This kind of change is exceptional for our region. We chose an air condionning systeme that can switch between cold and hot. Pros are a system that offer you winter or summer best air quality, but cons can be a delay between the switching. We are sorry that it did impact your journey. Served it's purpose admirably - a clean room, comfortable bed and a breakfast that sets you up for the day. We particularly enjoy the freshly squeezed orange juice.
