Five shirts that were all neatly folded in a pile on the floor were taken from my hotel room (Room 914).

Other than the missing shirts, everything was fine. The pool was nice. I gave a detailed description of the missing shirts to the front desk manager at checkout. I thought maybe the maid had them laundered by mistake. I don't know who else had access to my room. There was a man across the hall who always had his door open and was sitting at his desk, watching everyone who went past in the hallway.

I was offered a free upgrade to a suite. Very nice layout and luxurious suite. Very impressive and comfortable stay! Would love to come back again. Two areas which could be improved. Firstly, the priority check-in and check-out table beside the main reception counter is always empty without dedicated staff so VIP guests still have to approach the main counter. Secondly, we were inform that the buffet would end at 10pm, but unfortunately all the food and utensils were removed at 9:30pm and we were not reminded to take the last order before their removal.

Best Hotel in Qinghai

Situated in the new area of Xining, this hotel is definitely the best one in Qinghai province. Magnificent lobby area, elegant and luxury rooms, top class fitness facilities, delicious meals. Very good alcohol selections in the executive lounge. I would like to thank Candy Wang who delivered exceptional service to us in the lounge. Most of the staff were very polite, but I do hope that every staff who meet guests should and must greet guests. And I believe that’s one of the standard that SOFITEL brand should carry and maintain. Last but not least, I would like to draw your attentions to the translations of dish's name in the ADD restaurants. I saw so many mistakes and wrong expressions in the translations while i was having breakfast. for examples, you put parsley instead of coriander, Big Kong Cheese for Emmental Cheese, Yellow Cheese for Gouda Cheese, The poison juice of five greens is drained for Detox juice and so on... I think the management of this hotel must pay serious attentions to this issue as you are a chain hotel of an international brand. And That’s really a shame and disgrace for the brand of ACCOR.

Principal impression was that of a staff who were well versed in the principles of good service and keen to do well by clients. Jeffer Xiao stood out in this regard but other colleagues did well too. On detail we thought the patisserie was excellent, the hotel bar was a good place for a wind down drink after a busy day and the room very comfortable. The only aspect which we were reserved about were that the room was slightly warm - that said we were given fans when we raised the issue.

From arrival to departure, all staff and services were excellent. Car service from the airport was friendly and efficient. We were welcomed with an upgrade to a suite. Food and bar services were tasty.

Diva and Jeffer and Jenny helped us so much! We had a birthday party for our friend and they made it so special including giving us 20 plates and coffee cups, free wine, and free cake! These guys helped us with many extra logistics from renting several rooms for our guests to booking a meeting room for all our birthday party guests. As always- All the Sofitel Staff (but especially Diva) helped us incredibly and went way out of their way to make our event so special! The luxury and sophistication of the Sofitel is the highest of any hotel in all of western China and the buffet breakfast is to die for! But it is the kindness and hospitality of these professional, caring staff that really sets the hotel above any other hotel experience. These guys know how to welcome a guest and make them feel like royalty!

This should be my 3rd time to stay in Sofitel Xining. I used to encounter some issues during my very 1st stay there back in 2016 after I've spent a good 20 minutes in a very long queue trying to check out quickly to catch my flight. The 发票 (receipt) issued to me was with wrong information which cost me another 10 minutes to wait the receptionist to give me a new one. It was not quite a good experience to me. However, service has been very much improved during my stay in mid 2018 and this time. I had a very smooth check in with very professional and warm services provided by the front desk, the room was very tidy and clean, breakfast was also great. What impressed my most was the lady from the front desk. I was a member of Le Club (though with any high membership level) but provided a wrong membership number during check in, the lady processed with checking in for me very professionally so I was able to take a rest fastest as possible in the hotel room after the long journey. A call was given by the lady in very warmly manner and I was informed that wrong membership number was provided, I spent some good time to try to think of the correct number and the lady was very patient along the way. Eventually, after I've tried all possible membership numbers, the lady suggested that she could create a new account ID for me. This could be a very small issue but the service provided the lady was excellent which made me decided to proactively share the good story and my great feeling to Sofitel. I did had a check of the lady's name, her name is 雷嫱。
