A very tired Syles hotel in need of a refurbishment. Grouting in en suite floor collapsed when you walked on the floor. No liquid in the holder in the shower to wash with. Food at breakfast was adequate but overcooked and dried up. Would not return again.

Have stayed several times at the Ibis Styles, Haydock. We are always comfortable, ---and, warm in Winter!--Staff are very helpful and the included breakfast is a real bonus. ( You don't get this at Premier Inn, and, their rooms are cold!) We certainly recommend Ibis Hotels to others.

The hotel might be convenient for the main road - it's right next to it - but it's very dirty. Bedding, public areas and towels all stained, plus there's an ancient looking hand soap dispenser in the bathroom which you have to press to get soap which looks filthy, as though your hands would be dirtier AFTER using. When my partner complained about it, no one seemed to care and though we were told we would be contacted about it, several days later no one has bothered to get in touch. For the price, it was shocking. Couldn't face breakfast, given hygiene levels.

We’ve stayed here a few times and as usual the very helpful Amanda checked us in, she is a star. All the staff are always happy and helpful, notably on this visit Michelle and Kelly were also stars. Happy helpful staff are worth their weight in gold, look after your staff and they’ll look after your business. Please ensure these individuals are rewarded somehow, an early finish, a Christmas bonus, a pay rise, half a day off on their kids sports day. See you end of February!

« A very reasonable stay »

We last stayed at the Ibis Styles in Haydock just over two year’s ago. The hotel has aged a bit since then and will need some tlc within the next year to keep it in a tidy state (e.g. crack-filling and painting, leaky shower fittings etc.). Improvements noted are that the cooked breakfast is now included in the inclusive breakfast charge. We were, however, a little disappointed that the in-room hospitality tray was not restocked for our second night and the amount of coffee/tea and, particularly, milk supplied was poor. No complaints regarding the cleanliness and the comfort of the beds which was very good. The staff were also friendly and helpful. There is little doubt that we shall return.

Arrived too early for check in but the receptionist was very helpful, took car reg details and called a taxi to take us to the races. When we arrived back later to check in we were given key card but no information about locating room, lifts, breakfast or hotel amenities. Hotel room was comfortable although there was only one bottle of water, tea bag and coffee sachet even though a double room. However, reception did provide more without any issue. Would stay again.

Food ok. Staff good. Booking was shocking. 2nd week I was asked by staff if I was going to be rebooking and told them yes. I found I was quoted £294. but that money couldn't be taken asked to return next morning which I did and was told there had been a coach booking and that I couldn't rebook stay. I suggested 1 night in another room told price would be almost £360. Not how I expect to be treated after returning as a guest. Also first booking was problematic. Had to ring customer services to get membership number. Was told to cancel booking and rebook and was told by reception staff "it was cheeky and they couldn't over rule her".
