Stayed last week at what has become my hotel of choice in the area. Great hotel with great staff, comfortable rooms and good buffet breakfast. Only complaint was the bathroom / shower area in my room (228), floor tiles at the entrance to the shower were uneven / cracked and sealant was badly discoloured and mouldy. Bathroom could do with some maintenance work. One of the toilet seat supports was also broken and loose making it difficult / dangerous to use.

After a long, tiring journey, to be met by the wonderful receptionist, Diane, was just the tonic I needed! The rooms are bright and airy. Meticulously clean. On the two occasions I stayed (different nights/rooms, same week) the noise level did impact on my sleep. Would definitely stay again though.

« Modern, clean and a quick check-in... »

The room was very modern, as was the whole hotel. We loved the horseracing theme, we actually had two horses running at Haydock Park Racecourse the next day! The racecourse itself was only a 10 minute drive away, a perfect location as we had to feed the horses early in the morning. Check-in took less than 10 minutes, even though the hotel was very busy. The only small issue we picked up on was the breakfast. On arrival at the hotel we were told that the breakfast buffet was fully booked from 8-9AM due to a large group that were staying. So when the morning came, we wandered down at about quarter to 8. There was a variety of food (the pastry swirls were delicious!) but no cooked breakfast. However, as the clock struck 8AM the cooked breakfast counter was filled with sausages, bacon, eggs and everything else we could have wanted... but the large group had arrived and the queue was humungous! Had they ordered the breakfast in advance, or did the cooked goodies only come out after nine? Seeing as the restaurant had been open since 6:30 we were slightly confused. The only other small issue was the soap, although it was "eco-friendly" it was not very enticing! It didn't look very hygienic, but this is probably just me being picky. I wouldn't have wanted to put it in my hair though, so it would have been nice to have had some shampoo and conditioner. But I don't want this to put anyone off from visiting the hotel. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

In relation to your query about breakfast, continental is included in the rate, if you upgrade to the full English then it is prepared freshly in the kitchen and brought to the table. As we have tours in most weekends they have full English buffet included and we agree the time with the driver the night before and open the buffet at that time. In relation to the products in the bathroom this is the brand standard, I agree it isn't the ideal product for ladies, i will submit this feedback to the powers that be. « HIDDEN DANGERS !!!! »

WE LEFT EARLIER THAN WE WANTED TO DUE TO LACK OF SLEEP, THINKING ABOUT THE DANGER WE AND OTHER PEOPLE COULD HAVE EXPERIENCED! WE WERE JUST SETTLING DOWN TO SLEEP WHEN I NOTICED SOMETHING UNUSUAL, ON CLOSER INSPECTION I REALISED SOMEONE HAD WRAPPED A PLASTIC BAG AROUND THE SMOKE ALARM!! MY WIFE PHONED DOWN TO THE RECEPTION AND REPORTED WHAT WE HAD FOUND,AND WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES THE ASSISSTANT MANAGER ARRIVED.I STOOD ON THE BED AND REMOVED THE BAG,GAVE IT TO THE ASSISSTANT MANAGER AND SHE SAID SHE WOULD MAKE OUT A REPORT.I SUGGESTED WHEN THE CLEANERS COME IN THEY "CLEAN-UP AND LOOK-UP".

At Ibis Styles, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are take fire safety very seriously and have multiple measures in place to ensure the safety of our guests. Unfortunately the world has a vast population of idiots who think this behavior is acceptable and we do train our staff to look for these issues but again no one is perfect and errors are made, however I can assure you that although this will prevent the system from detecting someone smoking in the room our system is such that should the detector have been damaged a fault would show on the fire panel with an alarm and should a fire have broken out our alarms would have sounded as normal. « Overall good but with a few tweaks would be great »

Overall the offering is good. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Disappointed with the staff training/ knowledge about the LeClub membership programme. When checking in I didn’t receive my welcome drink voucher and only when I asked was given one. Also as a LeClub member I am used to receiving points for meals and drinks purchased at the hotel. Firstly the staff wouldn’t let me charge anything to the room because I didn’t start a tab? If I had known this then would be a problem then I would have started a tab. Secondly when I asked the staff about LeClub points for food and drink purchases they said they don’t give points for food and drink purchases? Even though it clearly states that on the menu! Upon check out I asked again and asked if they could add my points on for the food and drink I had brought and was told I should have started a tab, and it was only available to silver and above members (which I am!) Lastly I wasn’t offered or provided with an invoice upon checkout. I usually get an email with the invoice from other Accor hotels but not from this hotel.

The hotel was very clean. The staff very polite and friendly. The breakfast staff were extremely helpful and provided a gluten free breakfast for my daughter. Very good value for money I would recommend this hotel to friends and certainly stay there again.

Nice staff. Rooms very clean. The bed linen was changed on request as we noticed some fluff under the blankets. The ensuite shower room in room 102 had a very uneven floor when showering as the shower water drips towards door way into bedroom. So had to put bath towel on the floor in the middle of ensuite just beside the door to stop water penetrating the bedroom wood laminate flooring. The grouting on the tiled floor in the shower area had some grout missing in places which looked rather untidy. Also was woken twice during our one night stay. Once at just after 12 midnight with a car alarm going off just outside our bedroom window then some one drives off a short while after. Secondly at 3:00am we could hear the lady guest in the opposite room yelling "Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Mmmm! Mmmm! sounds. The shaver power sockets had no power to them so could not use own electric shaver. The free breakfast lacked variety as there was no full english breakfast on offer. And if there was we didn't notice any hot food other than a toaster and some bread.

There were three coach loads of guests on Sunday 25th of March descending on the breakfast supplies. Needless to say, by 8:30 - 9:00 nothing was left for the rest of the guests like me. I would imagine this is NOT usual, but if so, then the management would need a bit of training to cope with a surge in demand.

Disappointed. A good hotel and good staff but the stay was marred by the large group [around 100] staying at the hotel. It restricted the facilities available to ordinary guests, I've meal times and the noise the group made. I feel you should warn guests in advance if you have such a large party booked into the hotel

Arrived at approximately 10:30pm. Check in was done very quickly... got to the room and in a matter of minutes I was relaxing and had a fantastic night sleep. In the morning I had a quick breakfast and completed a really good stay at the hotel.
