« DISAPPOINTED »

Stayed here before 29/6/18 & staff were friendly & helpful but not this time! Arrived 4/8/18 at reception approx 3pm no staff at desk or at the bar ended up going into the back office where the receptionist & bar man were talking. Asked if someone could check us in - no apology & an unhelpful receptionist. We had requested a quite room & a fan which we did receive. The breakfast was just OK .

As usual, my stay here was pretty good although, with the hot weather, the room got pretty warm this time around. The menu also appears to have changed. Although not as top notch as a year or so ago, dinner was still good quality. All very friendly.

The double bed was comfy however the fold down bed wasnt the best supported underneath. The room was small but adequate and the TV worked with lots of channels. The room temperature was horrendous with no way of cooling it down at all. The breakfast buffet was busy so we struggled to get seated. Once we did there were big queues for everything and once you got to the front there wasn't much to choose from, no control of what was stocked by staff as they were trying to clear tables. One major issue with the queues was the placement on the coffee machine. Everyone was queuing for that meaning noone could get to the food. Had this been on a separate counter or table everything would have moved faster. The toaster was quite quick and you only had to put the bread through once, which is not always the case with industrial toasters. Again the bread ran out and never got replenished by the time we left. Overall the stay was ok but two major flaws with the heat in room and the breakfast should be looked at.

The hotel is on a business park. It had a coachful of guests the night we stayed, which made breakfast very busy. The room was smaller than similar hotels. Breakfast was poor - juice was "very thin" - as if it had been watered down. Queue for self service coffee meant a 5+ minute wait. Overall not very relaxing.

This is a nice hotel in the cooler months but during hot weather the rooms are unbearably hot, at a very minimum electric fans need putting in all rooms,

« A shambles. Terrible service, messed up bookings and unbearably hot and stuffy rooms »

I made a booking for myself and three other colleagues. Having phoned the hotel to amend the booking for two of my colleagues (they only needed one night as opposed to two), the hotel cancelled the wrong night. Consequently when my colleagues arrived there were no rooms available for them. The reception staff were dismissive, unhelpful and suggested it was my fault. As there were no rooms available in other hotels in the area we ended up having to share rooms. This was particularly uncomfortable due to the extremely hot temperatures in the rooms. No air conditioning, no fans and the windows barely opened! I was further disappointed to find that some guests were being given fans for their rooms. As I was quite clearly heavily pregnant it might have nice to be offered one. When I did enquire about a fan I was told that the last one had being given out. We therefore had to go and purchase our own fans at our own expense to make the stay vaguely bearable.

Room was great, although extremely hot at night- even with the window open(although restricted for safety reasons). No air con in the rooms which is needed. Breakfast included with room which is great. If you park at the hotel they charge for parking.

The staff were polite, professional and helpful. They are a credit it to you. The hotel itself, however, was poor. The rooms were aesthetically pleasing and the beds were comfortable. However, the shower flooded the bathrooms of everyone I was there with, this is clearly a design flaw. The lack of any kind of cooling system was a shock, considering every Ibis (normal, budget and styles) I have stayed in (quite a lot) has had some version. The website says there is manual temperature control and yet there wasn't, there was only a small radiator. The room was unbearably hot and quite stifling. The fact you had to pay nearly £10 on top for hot food at breakfast was a shock and quite frankly a disgrace for Accor hotels. The breakfast spread was very limited compared to every other Accor I have stayed in and the water from the cooler tasted like swamp water (maybe get someone to give it a deep clean?). Another shock was paying for parking in your own car park which I have never experience with Accor hotels of any kind. Also the fact you have to pay is quite well hidden on the website, something voiced by a few customers I spoke with. The website is highly misleading as it states there is to be a red dot by extras you have to pay for and there isn't by parking. The staff are under the impression this is all usual for an Ibis of all types, this is unfair on them when they have to deal with regular angry Accor hotel customers. We regularly have to attend business events in the area and we will not be staying here again.

The overall experience was poor. The room 401 was stifling hot and the reception could only add me to list of disgruntled guests who required a fan that was in short supply. Your advertising was misleading suggesting on the homepage that air con was available only to find that this applied to communal areas only. By the way, what does “manual temperature control” mean, at least speak in plain English. The room window opened no more than 2 inches due to the restrictors fitted. There was a loud hum over the bedroom which I can only assume is the air con units which is both annoying and disturbing. When the window was opened we could hear talking from the residents in the bar garden area which prevented sleep. The heat is clearly any issue based on the website reviews and it’s disappointing based on the negative reviews that you have chosen not to supply at least one fan per room.

Stayed many times over the last three years and always been pleased with the hotel and the staff. This time however the restaurant let it down. No croissants at 9.25 one morning and no soup at all for lunch the next day. What kind of hotel does not have a bowl of soup at lunch for those people who want a light snack. Very disappointed. This will not stop me staying again as everything else was good.

« Enjoyable but air-con needed in the bedrooms »

Great bedroom but extremely hot & the bathroom extremely hot &:humid. Staff did supply me with a fan but still too uncomfortable for sleeping. I realise that it is a heatwave but the group I was with stay each July & have commented before about the hot bedrooms. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay with a good evening meal.
