It was up at the usual standard rooms are basic but clean and tidy, staff are friendly and helpful and the food is freshly prepared and always enjoyable

Really enjoyed our stay. First time at Ibis Style and we were very impressed. Handy location for our next day visit to World of Wedgewood. Our stay was made really excellent by the duty manager Ben. Breakfast was very good.

« Service needs improvement »

We arrived and waited at reception for around 5 minutes waiting for a member of staff to greet us. It was around 13.55 at that point and although I appreciate check in is at 2, when I asked if we could check in, the lady checked her watch and said "it should be ok". Not a good start. I asked for late check out to be added which wasn't a problem. When I questioned what time we have our room until the reply was "3 or 4pm ish" We went to our room and noticed a lot of spider webs in the hallway outside. The room, however, was basic but clean. We went down for our welcome drink being Gold status and an Ibis Business member and again, had to wait around 10 minutes to get a drink. I had to go to reception and ask for service. I questioned the member of staff about the "welcome amenity" you get with gold status and the response was "a welcome drink is as good as it gets here". Unfortunately I didn't catch the name of the member of staff who dealt with us. As I work in a customer facing role myself, I understand there are certain ways of saying things without sounding so blunt.

« Good beds, poor restaurant »

The room was comfortable however the restaurant left a lot to be desired. As a regular stayer at another chain work asked me if I would like to try Ibis, however given the recent nights stay I doubt I will be returning. In the morning I went down to breakfast at around 06:30am and advised the person in charge that I was celiac and therefore required gluten free, he duly went away and when he returned he advised that the only thing I could safely eat was eggs, bacon and potatoes. I asked about whether the beans were gluten free to be advised "they should be OK". Unfortunately my celiac is a medical condition not a choice so I can't risk that something "should be" OK. I did ask if there was any cereal, bread, pastries, etc but nothing was available. This is very disappointed that you cannot cater for dietary requirements.

« A good but short stay »

Overall very good, but my other Half had difficulty getting through to me on the telephone - the auto-answer directed him to dial '0' to be connected to an operator but no-one answered when he did and there was no tone or music to indicate to him that his call was still live - this happened 5 times out of the 6 times he tried to ring my room. The room was warm and the bed comfortable, and the burger (evening meal) was excellent. The Chicago Town pizza the next night was sadly nowhere near as good. I should have gone with the special! The breakfasts hit the spot nicely. Friendly staff - overall an 8/10 for my stay.

Room was cold and no means of turning heating up. Fire Extinguishers ripped off the wall outside room. Towels smelled of cooking. Hairdryer noisy and smelled of burning.

The sink took a while to drain which was a little annoying in the morning. And 1 other small thing which is through no fault of the hotel was that some guest was playing some form of recorder or flute, which was not nice to listen to on the evening.

« 2 Bad Showers »

I was given room 222 on the 14/Jan. I didn't want 222 because the shower pressure was just dripping on the week before. But hotel was full so I took 222 Next morning, 15/Jan, I tried the shower in 222, the shower pressure was good. But it was cold water after 10 min and set the temperature gauge to max and to min. I mentioned to the receptionist on my way out and hoping she could fix it. That evening, I tried the shower, nothing changed! Shower water was still cold. The sink had hot water! I went to reception and ask for another room just for shower (not swapping room to save tidy up). After long search, hotel full, they gave me room 129. Room 129, there was signs of it being used ie not as tidy as 'new'. Anyway, to me it is the shower that counts. The problem this time was the shower was just hot water no matter how I adjust the temperature. When I tried the sink, there was no cold water, only hot water too! I return the room 129 key back to reception and told them my experience. They were apologetic but didn't try to find me another shower. Only saying they wouldn't put me back to room 222 again. I have been to Ibis Crewe almost every week since October 2018

« Great value - with Style »

One night stay to visit Crewe station. The hotel is around a 20 minute level walk at the entrance to a business park. Check in was fine although the computer was down and the room was perfect for a short stay. The hotel is some way from the amenities of the town so I decided to use the restaurant. This was a good decision as the choice and quality of the food was excellent, and surprisingly good value. Breakfast was also extremely good with plenty of choice, both cooked and cold, regularly replenished. I have stayed in a number of Ibis Styles, mainly on the Continent and can honestly put this one at the top of my satisfaction list. Well done management and staff.

Every time I stay in the hotel there is always an issue with the rooms e.g.: Shower controls broken sinks do not drain radiators do not turn off lose bathroom floor tiles breakfast was cold. It would seem that as I am on a set rate I appear to get the rooms that require maintenance
