« A very pleasant stay. »

Everything was great except for breakfast.They only had side plates available to eat off.No tomato juice,they poured me one from the bar which I was charged for,I thought it was complementary until I got the bill!

« Nice night away for the two of us »

Greeting at reception was welcoming and Rodrigo tried very hard. Good directions to room and very nice but hot!!!! Tried turning down temp but to no avail! Opened door and let temp out that way. Went down to bar and had drinks with Jenna who looked after us well with wife enjoying her cocktail "KIwi Kiss". Meal was chefs special menu which was enjoyed by both after which we relaxed in bar watching rugby. Breakfast was good the following morning but gluten free options were slim. Wife was given some cerial from out the back in end. I enjoyed the black pudding. Overall a nice stay thankyou!

Check in was a smooth affair with very professional helpful staff answering all of our questions regarding local attractions. Room was large, clean and well maintained. Evening meal was excellent as was the service. From front of house staff to table wait staff everyone was attentive and friendly.

« Good accommodation. »

Accommodation was very comfortable and we loved the central location, and beautiful décor, the easy access to onsite parking was great also. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only things that we felt could be improved on is the Electric Kettle was too "tall" to fit under the bathroom tap for filling, and the bathroom vanity top didn't really have that much space on it to place makeup case etc, and for those of us whose eyesight isn't quite what it was when we were younger, it was very hard to read the little print attached to the light switches, even with our reading glasses on, would've been helpful if those were larger or placed differently.

« Rude Room service Staff, filthy ceiling, TV and Bathroom »

The ceiling in the room had stuff on it and bathroom was dirty also TV had a massive amount of dust build up - all pictures shown to manager on my departure on Sunday the 10th June who assured me someone would be in touch with me - still waiting. Room service menu was very limited and upon ringing at approx. 2am had to wait ages for an answer and then the man was rude and was chewing in my ear - very inappropriate - only to be told products were sold out and he could make me a sandwich - main reason for choosing Novotel was the option of 24 hour room service otherwise could have stayed in a much cheaper place. This hotel is definitely not worth the money charged at all and will not be one I would recommend to anyone. It also was rather apparent that since I booked thru a third party I was not as important as someone that had booked direct. On a positive the check in staff on Saturday 9th June at approx. 1.30pm was amazing and very friendly and helpful.

It was nice. Not enough parking, we had to park at super cheap overnight which we weren’t stoked about. The carpet and decorating was interesting. We were hoping for a view since our package was for a north facing view but we were on the bottom floor so it wasn’t worth looking outside. We were both amused as the room doors look identical to our doors of our old homes growing up, maybe a bit dated?? Our dinner was great, the meat was beautiful and tender but we ordered the chocolate delice and neither of us enjoyed it. It was a bit too salty and the chocolate was very bitter but the dessert wasn’t actually sweet st all to balance it out. Breakfast was ok, but the fruit you had available for the cereal section was far too big, I was going to have some with yoghurt but was put off because I would’ve had to cut it all up to be able to eat it. We don’t go away often at all but recently stayed at a much cheaper hotel in Rotorua and their buffet breakfast was much better with a lot more range. And to be honest their buffet dinner was far more enjoyable than the meal we had at the Novotel. We requested a robe but they are very coarse and not nice to wear. We’ve driven past a million times and were always attracted with the shiny glass and pretty fairy lights, we always wanted to stay for a night but as we’re very busy farmers and parents we’ve never had a chance but finally all the stars aligned, my inlaws offered to have our kids for the night and the cows are dry so we didn’t have to get up in the wee hours to milk so we decided to go and tick it off our bucket list and drive home early to get back to work. It was nice but really didn’t live up to our expectations

« Standard Novotel with a twist »

Bed was comfy, chaise was facing the wrong way and really uncomfortable and old fashioned. Room was a good size but the colours were a bit nauseating - all green, yellow and brown. Bathroom way too small. Sink design meant that the mirror constantly got splashed. I was told I couldn’t order breakfast to be delivered to my room but on my last day I found a breakfast room service menu above the mini-bar. Someone was obviously not aware of this option. Hotel had a relaxed vibe and one of the ladies on reception was just awesome in reserving a parking space for us near the lift after I fractured my fibula 2 days into our 4 day stay. Overall I would stay with you again but only in a superior room like this stay or a 1 bedroom suite.

I was disappointed to discover the hair dryer wasn't working, and worse the iron has a sticky residue on the plate which caused scalding to my trousers.
