I think Novotel Pekanbaru design and interior is above other Novotel which I had stay so far.. However, I booked non-smoking room and double bed but I got the twin bed instead. This 2nd I had experience in Novotel group. Overall is pleasant to stay at Novotel regarding the complaining above

First night I had non smoking room as requested, but I had to extend for second night stay and was told that there was no more non smoking room available and had to be switched to smoking room, (which I'm sure there was plenty of rooms available as the rates was rather low and tons of parking space available). good thing it wasn't stink of smokes. Second thing which disappoint me is the parking guy, I clearly had registered my vehicle number when I checked in. when I was trying to get leave the hotel, I was asked to re-park my vehicle nearby and have to walk myself to receptionist to re-register my vehicle number. I feel like the staff in the hotel takes thing for granted that there are many visitors and they don't provide their best services to the customer. Clearly I felt there is slight difference in the service provided when I stayed on the other branches compared to Novotel Pekanbaru. I have previously stated these things hoping that it could be changed for better. but all review I left seems to be passed thru from ears to ears without any changes.

« Great room, and great accomodations. »

The hotel was very comfortable. The food was good, and the staff was attentive. My only complaint is that the room could be better insulated from outdoor sounds. I was awakened every morning at 4:30 a.m. Since I was in Pekanbaru to work, and was working very long hours, this was a major distraction. Perhaps dual-paned windows would help.

I strongly felt the services deteriorated from my last stay. Food choices getting worse during breakfast, despite request to omit beef in my omelette, I was served an omelette with beef bits. Staff are less friendly and where is all the glasses. Why there is always lack of glasses at the drink station during breakfast. And I seriously don't know why your staff loves to remove my unfinished food n drinks each time I go to get some additional stuff. Shouldn't they wait for the guess to leave before clearing the table?

« Hotel with Excellent Service »

This was the second time I stayed in novotel pekanbaru. So far the quality of service, room & other hotel property are meet novotel standard, nothing special. Except one thing that made me surprised & amazing, when I checked in the welcome drink had been tidy up, the front desk guy just said apology, no initiatif at all i.e. offer drink from bar. Later when I had in the room 1010, I called front desk asking welcome drink, at the first they said cannot delivered to the room it was hotel policy, but a few minute later, my door was knocked then when I opened the door I was surprised a Waiter brought soft drink for me. Finally I would like to say thank you to Novotel Pekanbaru for this excellent service. In the future I wish I would get room upgrade, as novotel bandung did.
