The check in and check out process is fast. The location of the hotel is amazing, right next to shopping mall so it's very easy to find something to eat. The cleanliness of the hotel is great. And the breakfast variety is good.

Dirty blood stained bedsheets & poor wifi connection

my room 1210 had dirty blood stained bedsheets which i only discovered after preparing to go to bed at night. even though housekeeping came quickly to change the sheets, it was still an unpleasant experience as it made me wonder what else was not changed/cleaned in the room. the wifi connection would be logged out as soon as my phone was not playing any apps... this is a bit strange as previously as long as i have logged on and remained in the room/hotel, my phone would be connected to the wifi/internet. as such, i wasn't able to be contacted on my watsapp as my phone would not be always connected to the wifi/internet. the toiletries supplied was also inconsistent with my previous stays. during this stay, there was no shampoo supplied. only body wash?

Room was excellent Breakfast so so Receptionist is very lame, i had to wait 15minutes for checkin, and 10 more minutes for room, they say the room is available but the system wont recognise it. Btw i came 5pm, and so far i know the check out time is 12am and check in time is 2pm. What are they doing in 3 hours?

I ordered for non smoking room, but because of availability i was upgraded to higher room but smoking. The receptionist said sorry though but seems that this happened very often. I need to complaint to my travel agent that the next day i could had a non smoking room

I love everything about this hotel. The location is strategic, next to a mall and close to the airport. The hotel is very well designed, modern, sophisticated, contemporary, and it has a charming character. My room was spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable too. If I'm ever going back to Pekanbaru sometimes in the future, I'm certain that the first hotel that will pop up in my head is the Novotel.

Front desk wasn't friendly, didn't smile, hence I didn't feel welcomed. Housekeeping staff also did not properly clean my room before my arrival. After I stayed for 1 night, they claimed that they actually found a pack of condoms under the bed and decided to place it on the bedside table, so when I returned to my room I felt very confused and creeped out. Even though the manager agreed to let me change my room, he asked me several times whether I had let a friend stay over, even though I had clearly explained that I was staying alone throughout my stay, as if insinuating that I had a friend who may have left the item. I thought it was rude and unprofessional of him, and it made my stay very unpleasant.

Not the usual Accor service that i know

As we reported to the front office earlier than check in time, we expected the rooms can be well prepared. But, we were disappointed. The water heater in 1 room was broken; both safe-deposit boxes were error & we were reluctant to report it as we brought our own padlock. One room was smell of cigarettes (room no 912 to be precise). That was my second stay there, and both were not as good experience as my other Accor / Novotel stays. And i think the front-liner should smile more. Hope to have a better experience next time.
