Location is good in a busy area, about 8 minutes easy walk from Ealing Broadway Tube Station. The staff are friendly and efficient. Check-in was simple. The building is new and well laid out, except...(see below). The room was clean and comfortable but I wondered about the point of having the controls at the opposite end of the shower unit from the water. An in-room safe would be useful. The downside was breakfast - a complete shambles. The eating area is too small and the buffet area is much too small. It was a struggle to reach anything with some people forming queues and others going free-for-all! There was only one coffee machine and one toaster. Plates and cutlery tended to be in short supply. As regards the range of food, there was good choice of cereals and juice but not of bread. Just one type of cold meat and two almost identical types of cheese. There didn't appear to be anything hot available. Pastry range was ok. If the breakfast issues could be sorted out, I would return to this hotel and would recommend it.

I had better hopes of a brand new hotel. As a loyal Accor customer (with 4 years Platinum status) I’ve never had a worse experience. First impressions were bad - no reception desk, just a large red table which looked more like a promotion for a charity collection. Near the table was a scruffily dressed young men wearing a T shirt which said “Cereal Killers” on it. Having been completely ignored by him it eventually transpired that he was the receptionist. It wa difficult to check in due to communication difficulties caused by the over loud music. Having been given my payment card back while his back was towards me, he then walked off saying something inaudible, to the rear of the hotel. A few minutes later the general manager appeared, and explained the receptionist's absence by saying that they could not cut cards for “upgraded rooms” at the front desk. And he tried to justify the T shirt by saying it was part of the movie theme or the hotel. That didn’t work for me. Perhaps I’m getting old. I’m not convinced that I had an upgraded room anyway - I don’t believe that Ibis Styles hotels have a choice of room types. Either way, the room was also disappointing. It hadn’t been cleaned properly, including the toilet, and a mirror was covered in splatter of something. The front desk manager tried to redeem the situation by being very helpful when I was heading out for a meal, apologising for the experience to date and promising to send housekeeping to clean the toilet. She didn’t. While having a drink at the bar, when the front desk manager had left the red table unattended, two more people arrived to check in and asked where the front desk was. Clearly the red table doesn’t work. When checking out the following morning at around 9am there were 2 people queuing, and again nobody at the desk. I left my keys as instructed, but then had to email to request a VAT invoice rather than, as I expected, simply being sent one. Does any other hotel in London have no staff on reception at 9am? I will not be back.

Dear PaulWorc, Firstly please accept my humblest apologies for your experiences during your stay with us. I have noted your feedback regarding the service on arrival and the music and can confirm that all of the team have been retrained on the correct attitude we have come to pride ourselves on in the short space of time that we have been open. At the Ibis Styles London Ealing we have 3 room types, a standard double or twin bedded room or the very comfortable and large Family room which is just over 24sqm. I have also fed back to the head housekeeper regarding the toilet, however please note that the splatter effect on the mirror is part of the design and represents a faded movie reel. As a brand the ibis family of hotels are moving completely away from desks, replaced with team members in the welcome area readily available to assist, which clearly was not the case on your arrival and what you witnessed later, especially on departure. The hotel is very nice, clean and quiet. Very good breakfast. Staff is polite. Cleaning staff doesn’t make noise when in the corridor. I arrived early but was given room straight away. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the tube station. The bus stop is in front of the hotel. I stayed 9 nights and I am Accor Club member, but the check out lady didn’t consider extended check out time. I think, if room is available, some consideration should be given to such requests.

Great price, the hotel was absolutely stunning, the staff were so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My tv remote wasn't working and they sent someone up to my room, he fixed it within 5 minutes. Loved this hotel so much I'm coming back next month.
