Room was as expected. Check in was smooth, took me a long time to check out. There has to be a better system. I was standing right in front at the counter but somebody behind me was attended to first.

« I mixed of positive and negative experience »

The positive experience is that the staff were great! Helpful and friendly! The breakfast was good! There were items there that really shined! The restaurants served good food! But the real let down was my room. It was run down. Door knob of the shower was coming off. My sofa bed was broken. Toilet not working properly. The rooms need to be upgraded and given a new lease of life!

Overall experience was excellence, especially the service provided by concierge and the shuttle bus driver. I was greeted upon alighting at the hotel and was directed to the counter for check-in. Shuttle bus uncle is friendly and provide extra guide to me as for information and I found it useful. On the 2nd day, I was waiting for the shuttle bus at the lobby as I wanted to go gym, So fit. Upon the concierge knows it, they asked someone to send me there via buggy. Thumb up for the team! Cons will be the bedsheet has a lot of small black stain on it. Additional, there is a space for ornaments displayed on the bathroom window which was quite dusty. Feedback- I hope to have shuttle bus from RWS to the hotel as it was really very inconvenient when I encountered a heavy rain. I called the hotel and the receptionist suggested I took a monorail back to VivoCity and take the shuttle bus. I was speechless. Instead I took the monorail to beach station, take Bus B and alighted at So Spa and wait for the shuttle bus. It’s really very inconvenient for the guest.

« Great facilities - need to focus on the details »

The Sofitel resort was well maintained and truly beautiful- there were multiple small failures and details that left us wanting a bit and feeling like a number a few were: 1. Arriving at 4pm to be told our suite was not ready - was told to go to the bar for a complimentary drink - instead had to use the free drink vouchers from le club - there were no other rooms available in our class 2. On entering the room (family suite) the kids bed was not made up (they were noted on booking - one would assume to set up the sofa) 3. On multiple occasions in le bar sat down for a drink and waited 10 mins without being attended to (was very quiet) and left due to no service 4. Took children to villa fed enfants at 4pm - no attendants - called reception from mobile who said they would follow up - at 4.15pm no one arrived. Called duty manager to complain and was informed will raise with management (wasn’t he the manager). Was then told that staff were assisting in the spa. Was offered no apology. 5. On checkout there was another problem with the payment terminal (I wanted to pay with a different credit card than what I used to check in) there was no solution other than for them to bill the original card and email me 6. Turn down service was inconsistent and on one occasion didn’t have any towels for kids Overall the staff were friendly and courteous (particularly the concierge team) my take on it was no one really cares about the detail - I am not a keyboard warrior - ever - I called the duty manager whilst there to talk about these issues and didn’t get a satisfactory response. I could’ve stayed somewhere for a significantly lower price (deliberately booked a Sofitel suite as have had good experiences in Queenstown and SYDNEY (both wentworth and the new Darling Harbour). Would suggest getting the team focused on the details.

« Pre-stay service can be much better »

Generally I was very happy with our family staycation. However before the stay, these were the problems 1. The hotel sends an email that allows for upgrades but it cannot be modified or cancelled online after a choice has been made 2. When I emailed to amend my choice , I was told the prestige suite was fully booked for the period of stay 3. When I called room reservation line , I was able to book the prestige suite . I was also told I could purchase two dining credits ( I had purchase one earlier 150 credit for 105 dollarswhen I booked my stay ) so I said I wanted to purchase another 150 credit for 105 dollars. The lady who answered the call said yes . When I checked in , again I asked about my dining credits and it was confirmed yes. However on checkout , they said I had or could only use one dining credit. I had actually asked two more Friends to come for dinner to use up the dining credit so it was a little annoying to me. Further even if I couldn’t have the same 150 credit for 105 dollars there was another one offered in the e-upgrade email — 125 credit for 99 dollars . That was also not offered . So I did end up paying for my dining almost in full. Otherwise we were very happy with the stay. The hote prepared a birthday cake for my Husband. Yes the rooms may be a little run down , the lift for the tranquility wing had some part near the door flapping , but the grounds are still very pretty. Staff were more or Less friendly.

Excellent - booking process was great despite the complexity of our plan (thank you Faith); the catering for our 30 guests was both flexible and excellent (thank you Simone); and the service was great. Lunch at The Cliff and Sunday brunch were also great.

We really enjoyed our stay especially my wife as this was my surprise for her to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Really look forward to another stay in Sofitel. Only issue I noticed is the dirt in the middle of the swimming pool. It should have been properly maintained. I have highlighted to the life guard on that day as well.

« I think my experience of staying in Sofitel just average »

I think next time when room service want to go into the guest room please kick the door three times and ring the door bell also. Cause this time I staying in Sofitel, and room service staff just pop into the guest room. That is quite shock and rude, some more I am doing some private thing, and suddenly some one come into the the guest room are really angry and scared.

« Absolutely Fantastic Hotel in a Breathtaking Location »

From the moment we arrived we absolutely loved this hotel. From the beautiful hotel bar surrounded by the marble pathways which led to the rooms we fell in love with. We were greeted by Alex at the bar who we also loved. It was my Birthday and he went out of his way to make me feel special. The lushness of the location was what we loved the most and the pool which felt like a freshwater lake to match the surroundings. The restaurants were all great but a special thank you to The Garden where I had my Birthday dinner and the girl who decorated my table for me and the Chefs who gave me a cake, so wonderful. We loved the buffet breakfast which provided choices for every taste. A special mention to Vijay who met us every morning at breakfast and was such a wonderful host. He looked after us so well and he was very genuine with his hospitality. It makes such a difference. By the time we left we felt like family. The only criticism I have was the layout of the bathroom. I struggled with the shower in the bathtub and would have preferred a stand alone shower plus the toilet within the bathroom with the glass door was a little confusing. Overall we loved out stay and the peacocks were amazing as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to everybody and we would love to return.

Beautiful hotel , comfortable room , modern and well decorated .Staff is super professional and food from main restaurant and Italian place is really good. Spa is amazing. I didn't have time to use the pool or beach but the pool area is really lovely .

We had a fantastic weeks stay and found amost all facets of our stay outstanding. Our room was great a extremely well clean and staff always provided great service and were attentive. The food at all the food areas we ate at was excellent with great service. The facilties were excellent both the pool ,gym etc and the customer service by the staff was outstanding. My only gripe with our stay is the extremely poor standard of coffee avaliable at breakfast and the other bars and the pool bottom didnt seem to get cleaned as it was covered in green algae the whole time during our stay. For Breakfast the only option was an automatic coffee machine which never made an average cup of coffee in approx 25 attempts over 7 days. Coffee from the bar and pool was better as it was barista made it appeared but either you use a very dark roast or it was burnt due to a slow extraction. Given i admit to being picky about my coffee as I'm a coffee roaster by trade and understand abit about trying to serve large volumes of barista coffee quickly. But for 4/5star hotel I would expect the option of a decent made barista coffee for breakfast even if i have to pay for it. Thank you Martyn S.

The staff was wonderful - everyone greets you and were very happy to accommodate whatever request I had. For the caliber of hotel, it did appear to be starting to get a little worn, with stained and fraying carpets, dings in the walls, etc. I would expect that some overall maintenance is likely to be scheduled soon.

Arrival was pleasant, check in efficiently, room wasn't ready, but they worked hard to prepare it asap. Pity they don't have an executive lounge. Breakfast was amazing. Room upgrade was appreciated and enjoyed the space of the suite. Beautiful pool, although I think the hotel should not allow guests to reserve chairs/loungers at the pool at 7 am and not arriving before 10.30 am. It is cheap and towels should be removed if guests are not there. We weren't able to find a place in the shade for our early swim/sunbathing because of reserved seats. Felt a bit cheap. I like the room/decor of hotel and service was as expected. Didn't exceed our expectations though. Shuttle service is very reliable and useful.
