« Good, but not so good »

It’s apparent you’re new as you still haven’t worked out all the kinks and bugs. From the first confusing elevator ride to controls in the room, it was an up and down experience for us. Surely you already have complaints about the elevator indicator lights and the hodge podge of in-room controls where you have a mix of wall and control panel... except for the bedroom lights. Totally confusing. And we’re confident others mentioned the weak WiFi that will not support two laptops in the same room (we were told it was because there were too many guests using it...) The room was so dry a humidifier is absolutely crucial. And happy to know that was free. But ask for an extra blanket to use on the couch and you charge an extra 24,000 Won ??? This for a room that is over $300/night total. It’s almost as though you’re not sure what level hotel you are. 6 star prices but 4 Star service and policies. Crazy... we’ve never ever been asked to pay for an extra blanket at any Star level hotel. Perhaps it’s never a good idea to mix multi-level Star & price hotels in one property, as possibly the staff become confused. Certainly guests can become confused... When booking we did note the big difference in rating between Ibis and the Novotel Suites, but we wanted the big room. We we’re extremely disappointed by the size of the room as it’s not what we saw in the pictures. We upgraded and found the suite room we were expecting... from the website to pamphlets/info in the room, we were disappointed due to the lack of good descriptive pictures and clear information about what was what and, in some cases, where. Also, we checked in and out on the first floor as the Suite’s desk was not open on both occasions. Check-out was a huge time consuming mess as staff didn’t know it was closed... followed by a very long line and wait. Lastly, our car license would not register in your parking system so we had to use the intercom to get out. We loved the deluxe suite room. We also enjoyed our midnight room-service snack with huge portions. The convenience store on-site is also a nice touch. Our opinion, if you’re using your guest to train staff, fine tune your systems and work out the bugs... you should not charge full price ! As it is, we are unlikely to return or recommend to others. Too many bugs and minor irritations add up to unpleasantness that you share with others. The value simply is not there yet.

The hotel has an excellent service team ... impeccable. The only negative aspect is that as the hotel is new, some taxi drivers do not know the place .... the hotel should try to create more awareness for its location.

Good location, services are just okay, very good decoration, but lack of signage of direction, and too disappointed that the suites do not have bath, noisy due to big leak at the bottom of front door of hotel room

Stayed in the Junior Suite for two nights. A bit disappointed with your online system system as it was down for more than a week. I was unable to get the best rate during your Private Sale. Although your replied mail promised to response within 24 hours but I didn't receive any help until one week later when the Private Sale was OVER. Your hotline staff didn't manage to make any compensation but asked me to make IDD call to China to get my membership benefits. Very disappointed with Novotel

« Our saty was amazing »

our stay was better than expected. all the staff were amazing, helpful and very professional. I would like to recommend " JAEHWAN JUNG" the chief concierge and PAUL the concierge as well, to any guest, their performance was above expectation. we thank them so much as well as the rest of the staff. As for our suite, it was amazing clean, and perfectly equipped. Maybe one little small details that needs to be improved for my opinion. I think that if you make a smoking area for the guest that would be a bit comfortable ( away from the cold) it would be perfect. we enjoyed our saty and we thank you so much. we would like to be members in "Le Club AccroHotel", AS WE TRAVEL A LOT, and we will choose your hotel in our next stays for sure. THANK YOU.

« New building but extremely dissatisfied »

I have been a dedicated member of another hotel chain. 4 new Accor hotels opened recently near my place so I thought I would give it a try. My conclusion is that it was one of the worst stays I have ever had. I will point them out in bullet points below: POSITIVES - Friendly staff - New hotel, new facilities NEGATIVES - No one cared enough to check shower head before opening the hotel. I checked in at night and did not use shower at night. I used the shower in the early morning and turned on the rain shower and realized that all the water was dripping on the other side where the toilet is located. My girlfriend was using the toilet when I was taking the shower... So I approached night shift manager upon checkout (approximately 6:30 am) and asked Bo Ram to follow up. She apologized and she said yes that she will follow up that day. I was so frustrated but I had to get to work. I waited until 10:30 am but no one called. I called the hotel to ask if anyone is going to follow up with the case and a few minutes later Seul Ki Lee called back and told me that she's truly sorry. I asked her if she was the manager and she said that she isn't. I was surprised by the fact that a lower level employee called back to apologize. I asked her to please have a manager call back. Then about half an hour later, manager named Sangjun Oh called back and apologized and asked me if I had another stay coming up and that he will make sure that I get treated well next time. I cannot believe how a global hotel chain such as Accor could react to such incident in an unprofessional manner. Even though Mr. Oh assured me that I would be treated well next time, I wanted to alert the upper management how they are handling such case. - After checkout, I went to Food Exchange to grab a quick bite to eat. I was not in the happiest mood and then I encountered so many misspellings on menu. That's when I began to think if anyone actually cares about the hotel. No one cared to check if rain shower was functioning properly and no F&B manager cared enough to check the spellings on the menu. (i.e. crab soup was written as crap soup, stirred mushroom was written as stired mushroom, Food exchange billboard said breafast instead of breakfast). I have taken pictures and I can send them to you if you would like. Again, I wanted to point out the facts of what happened during my stay and that I wanted upper management to be aware of this issue and handle them in a PROPER way and not have a junior employee call back and apologize. Even though we showed the hotel name card with map on it, the taxi drivers always had trouble to locate it. Sometimes we had to tell them the direction when near the hotel area. The room was spacious and we had the Namsan Seoul Tower view. Although it was equipped with washing machine/dryer, we didn't have time to use it. :) In all, we truly enjoyed our stay there. Will go back when visit Seoul again.

« really enjoyable 5 day holiday break in seoul »

thank you for letting us check in early. the hotel is very new with friendly staff. we stayed at 38th floor, and the room has a beautiful view of the city with N tower in the background. the location of the hotel has a direct footbridge connection to yongsan station, airport bus 6030 stops at the hotel. when my wife and i come to korea, we like to go to Hongdae, noriyangin seafood market, myeondong, itaewon. yongshan station is convenient. (communicating with taxi drivers are not always easy in korea, and visit this country at least once a year..subway trains are the best. there is a big super market below the station too, so you can buy drinks, snacks easily, there is a microwave oven in the hotel room. washing machine too. the hotel tv had a lot of channels, i got to watch english premier league, (in korean SBS sport). we really enjoyed our stayed.

« My best hotel experience.....EVER »

I have traveled a lot for work and pleasure in the Asian region, and I can say these visits (we stayed 1 night x 3 during 20-29 Oct), were the very best of my life. Most especially, the staff were exceptionally helpful (I'd like to mention for special efforts Helen Noh at the Concierge Desk and Nate at Check in). Our last stay was on Saturday night when there was also a Festival next door, and we learned that apparently the hotel was full because of guests checking who didn't have reservations. For breakfast, we faced a queue of about 25+ people waiting for a table. Much to our delight, the line moved quickly and they staff were dealing well with the large numbers. Similarly, we were very impressed with the management at check out (another queue of 30+ people), which also went quickly. All the while the staff dealt happily with every request and went 'above and beyond'! Much sincere appreciation from we two first-time visitors.
