« Poor Customer Service »

We arrived at around 7pm at found the check-in experience to be very poor. The front desk lady had zero English and we did best we could to communicate with her in our limited Portuguese. There was no smile or attempt to help the situation, we were left feeling a bit unwelcome. The hotel is modern and clean but is located in an area away from any activity (no shops or restaurants nearby).

The hotel is extremely clean and convenient. Easy to grab the light rail or a taxi to where ever you need to go. The only downside is that it isn't right in the heart of downtown, otherwise it was quiet and really inexpensive.

I was induced by the receptionist to fill a form to join express check out. I was pre-charged in my credit card on BRL 280,00. At the end of my stay, I deposited the key into the express checkout box. Today I found I was fully charged on the pre-authorization amount. I consumed only 2 bottles of water!! Not fair

« Best cost benefit ratio ever »

I have stayed a few times at the Ibis Budget Rio Centro which has become worn off over time. In São Paulo, I flip between Mercure and Ibis Styles Anhembi for price. This Novotel/Ibis Rio Atlantico was my best positive surprise ever. Good local food for dinner, fast service, especially at check out, friendly staff. Parabéns

I discovered after check in that i had mistakenly booked into a hotel far from where i wanted to be. I was booked in for 4 nights but checked out after 1 night to relocate to Copacabana. I was extremely disappointed to find that I was not offered or given a refund for the nights that i did not stay. This is not conducive to using this chain again or recommending this chain to others

« Very convenient for business visit »

Location good, next to the bus station, right place for transit. And the VLT (Tram) is nearby, so easy to go to the city center as well as the Olimpic anvenue. Not so busy area, so, not very good for Lazer purpose. Very new and stylish hotel, with a fantastic view of the whole RIO harbor and the famous bridge.

The room was perfect and the beds were very confortable but the Breakfast was too expensive according to what it was served, almost there were no fruits. Very poor!! The staff was very friendly and kind.

« Lovely staff and modern rooms »

I had a very good experience. I just thought the minibar and alcoholic beverage prices were a bit exaggerated. Had a wonderful experience with the staff, always in good spirits and ready to help. The food at the restaurant was also a nice surprise, it isn't often that you have good meals in hotel buffets. The location is the only thing that was a little frustrating, especially at night. It's in a very remote area with little to do.

No education, no good morning, at dinner nobody to take my other, I also called to the adm to request my receipt but already 24hs late and nothing. I´m no happy with that hotel.

It was overall satisfactory, though not all reception staff was able to speak English. Airport pick-up was @ 150 BRL extremely expensive and does not give a very welcome to Brazil experience. At my check-out night there was a power cut. Reception staff member handled that perfectly fine. My compliments.

Extremely disappointed. We were confronted with party noise on both nights. After not being able to sleep the first night and the fact this occurred again the second night, we consider the reaction of staff was not adequate and below any standard.

« My worst hotel stay »

I booked 1 room for 6 nights at the Novotel and 2 rooms for 6 nights at the IBIS. I booked the IBIS as we wanted 2 additional rooms that were more affordable. When we arrived we found out that we have the same hotel with exactly the same rooms. I paid much more for my reservation expecting better standards. Besides the above there were other issues that i just do not expect from Novotel - the safe did not work and reception did not attend to this. No shower caps were provided and again reception could not help. The rooms were never cleaned despite asking several times. Having stayed there for a 6 day period on a beach holiday the floors became really dirty and soiled. The breakfast served was a continental breakfast and i expected a full breakfast. They had a nestle coffee machine which was problematic most of the time.

I went to the hotel by carnival season. The room that I was it was on the same level with my brother and family. In the middle of the night when I came after carnival the room was with no light. I went to the reception and the guy told me he already knows the room was with no light but he waited me to go to the room to see and he doesn’t know what happened. He changed to other room and nobody come with lights to help me pack my stuffs!!! I was there with just light by my cellphone. When I went to the reception in the next day the receptionist she doesn’t care at all!! She didn’t say sorry or nothing she just said she will pass this to her supervision and this never happened! Terrible staffs!!! The refrigerator was very surty! It was a such terrible experience.. the hotel is beautiful but needs to improve a lot!
