Because of the heavy rain and all the problems it has cuased in San Pedro and surroundings, the water supply was cut off. We do understand this is not the fault of the hotel or the staff. But the rooms and the corridor were not clean to the standards we are used to at Ibis, this had nothing to do with lack of water. We had a bad day trying to get to Calama, and couldn't get anything to eat, and in the morning we couldn't get breakfast. Surely with bottled water they could have made some coffee . Anyway, we do admit it was a bit chaotic because of the circumstances wheatherwise.

I was charged tax on my stay as a tourist as the piece of paper immigration gave me said "other" for purpose of travel. My partner staying with me had holidays on hers. Obviously immigration put the wrong purpose if other means anything. Staff just told me I was a local for them... No common sense applies for your staff. Also rooms had no kettle. We do not get any drinking water which is a shame in a place where tap water is not drinkable.

I booked this hotel through hotels.com and they charged me more than what I was guatanteed from booking site. Even when I have to pay, the price from other booking sites(booking.com, expedia etc), it said the same price I booked but hotel concierge told me that I have to pay what they suggesy in order to get a key. And there was no hotel shuttle to airport although they showed me that there is 'airport shuttle'. The only thing they can do is to call the taxi. It is totally different whay I expected. Hotel concierge couldn't speak English, so we needed to use google translator.

« An Oasis in the Atacama »

We were surprised with how much we enjoyed this hotel. Clean, well run, efficient. Good, full Breakfast Buffet. And, a good dinner one evening when we just wanted to stay in. Also, extremely good location with a huge grocery store and full mall nearby. Very, very nice staff.

Service at the restaurant was very slow. We had no hot water for a shower at 8pm and still none at 5am the next morning when we complained at check out we were basically ignored. Compared to our experience at Provedencia Ibis which was very positive our experience at Ibis Calama left a lot to be desired especially as this is such a lovely new hotel.

poor. Service is poor and slow. Rooms are ok for a cpuple of nights only. Clean and in order, but the shower was broken, spilling water all over the bath. AC was not working properly, and very noisy at night, it needs better isolation

First night we arrived I was very tired and wanted to ask something to the reception desk, but when I pushed number 9 it just sounded bip, bip, bip and no ring. I had to dress up and go down to tolk with the receptionist and I told him the problem with the phone and he just said "I don't know, maybe is someting wrong with the device but I have nothing to do". Well, I did not like that answer because in not funny to have to dress up at 1:30 in the morning just because the phone is not working.
