Very nice stay. Good Breakfirst. Unfortunately in case the room is on the 9th floor, there is no staircase to walk down. The elevator must be taken. The directions on the 9th floor indicate a staircase, which is only an emergency exit to outside stairs. Once closed the first door, there is no way back and only a phone call at a colleague allowed to get back in the hotel. Nobody took the call at the reception. I was locked.

My absolute worst check-in experience in 13+ years in Russia. I have a visa that does not require me to register in Russia as long as I do not stay in the country for more than 90 consecutive days. Occasionally when I check in at hotels in Russia, I am asked whether I have a registration and when I give this explanation and show my visa, there is no issue (I had been questioned in this way on one of my three previous stays at the Mercure in Voronezh). However, this time, the lady at check-in (who explained she was new) said that this was not enough and she would not be able to check me in. She then called the duty manager, who confirmed this. This person explained that this was the law in Russia and that there was nothing she could do - even if this is technically correct, I stay in hotels frequently and Russia, and as noted above, had previously stayed in this specific hotel three times, so either every other hotel/person in the Voronezh Mercure is wrong/behaving improperly or the lady I was dealing with was being overzealous at best. Given that there were no subsequent flights back to Moscow, I was beginning to get slightly concerned. Upon further negotiation, it was concluded that the photo of my work permit would be considered adequate so I was able to stay, but I was extremely stressed/unhappy about the situation. In short - you really need to sort this out.

According to Russian laws you have to be registered during 7 working days after your flying to Russia. After these days you are necessary to have a registration from the previous place of living. If you have a card of highly qualified professional / work permission, you could live in Russia without registration during 90 days. It was the first time when you checked in our hotel on 46th day of your living in Russia. We were necessary to take a document confirming your legal stay in Russia. Unfortunately, we didn’t know that you had the card, because you never gave this document to us. On the daily basis we improve our services and standards and hope you will give us another opportunity in the future, so we could change your opinion in the best way! Nothing special, breakfast just OK, fish didn't seem to be fresh. Strange that there is a lamp stand in the room with no plug to connect it... No table lamp for work (was installed after asking at the reception). Will look for another hotel to try in Voronezh to compare.

Temperature control units do no work in the hotel rooms during my stay. Breakfast quality experience was moderate to low. Hotel personnel was very helpful. Parking is available. Good for overnight stay.

I complained about the temperature in the room few times per night. The person on reception told me that I should wait or open the window if I want lower temperature. After second complaint the engineer came to my room and say the same. No one helped me with this problem. Why I should open the window and hear the noise from outside in one of the the most expensive hotels in Voronezh city? I just wanted to have 20 degrees in my room not 25 - 26. My stay was dissatisfied

We checked in on weekend with 2 small children. Initially we were located on 3rd floor and it was loud music from restaurant till 3 AM at night and no one could help us, there were only promising from reception that soon music would be turned off. It's unacceptable for Mercure brand for my opinion. So my advice for guests - avoid to stay in rooms at 3rd floor on weekend. So next day new room on 6th floor was granted instead of previous one and the rest weekend was OK and good. Staff is good, breakfast is excellent, furniture is great.

The stay was excellent. The staff is very professional, the room was very clean and the breakfast options were very vast. Besides, in one of the nights, I had dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants and that was also a very good experience. The food was quite tasty and the staff also professional. I just so happens that I ended up celebrating my birthday while in Voronezh and the Front Desk Staff offered me a cake. Very pleasant and kind surprise!

Accommodation was good, clean and functional. Certain items could be improved, such as a few more sockets or usb charging ports and the design of the bathroom would be more comfortable if there was extra room around the toilet and the shower door could be opened to step out onto the bathmat rather than pushing it away.
