At check in, we were told the breakfast was included. At check we billed 26 euros per person for 3 days for the breakfast buffet. This conflicting information is very poor and deceptive . The person checking out was very rude with a firm belief that I was never given information that indicated the breakfast was included. The guests checking out prior to me had the same situation. I’ll not return .

Check in around 1AM. I had put the request of setting up the sofa bed (notes on the reservation and the online check in), and when we check in, it was not setup yet.. When we are checking out, we are about to be billed an extra 200 euro for the room rate.. We already prepaid through accor website and everything is fully paid except the city taxes.. How come the system/administration in the hotel is so mess up in putting the room rate for the stay? I have been all over accor hotel around the world, this is the first time we ever encounter a rate differences and notes on the reservation not being taken care at all. even Ibis is better in taking care request... Next fiasco, breakfast... we stayed for 3 nights and only take 1st day breakfast.. One of the lousy breakfast we ever take for sofitel standard... all the tables are not being cleaned, no body was even bother asking us how many people and showing the table for 10 minutes!! Even, they want to charge us for soft boiled eggs!! seriously?? We stayed at novotel Venizia before come to this hotel, novotel even better with full capacity!! overall experience, better take away the 4 star to 3 star hotel and not putting managed by sofitel at all.. So, people can expect less experiences.

Excellent in all respects. Your staff are courteous and helpful particularly at reception and the breakfast team. The hotel is lovely. The rooms are nice. The treatment my family and I received is far superior to that I am accustomed to at other Accor group hotels (I am a Gold member).

Amazing experience for my whole family. We are a family of 7. 3 children, 2 adult parents, and 2 senior adults (grandparents). The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were amazing and the location in Arrondissement 10e was perfect. Close to cafes and shops, and close to public transportation.

We were visiting Paris on our honeymoon and had the pleasure of staying a the Hôtel L'Échiquier. It's a beautiful hotel in the Opera district close to everything we were interested in seeing. Plenty of local options for dining and close to the metro. The restaurant/ bar area is easy on the eyes and someplace you want to spend time. We looked forward to breakfast every morning in part to the beautiful setting, but also because the food was delicious. We loved the old style lift. Our only complaint is that the maid helped herself to a tip of 10 to 15 euros I had left on the counter one afternoon. We told the front desk, but never heard anything past that. Overall great experience.

The layout of our shower door was not thought out well. This glass door was wide, swung out and left VERY little room to get in and out of the shower since the toilet room is very small. Poor planning. ****IMPORTANT: You still have a hold on my Visa card for $233. When will that be released? I will be contacted you soon if I don’t see it release back on my card. **** The location was not great for us. It was too far from where we wanted to be. Our travel agent chose it though. The young girl in the restaurant at breakfast was a bit rude. She gave us a hard time when we went to eat. Our breakfast was included with our stay. I guess she wasn’t aware.

I love the welcoming and elegant atmosphere. the personalized message in my room made me smile :-) well done! On the contrary in the morning I did not feel welcomed at breakfast at all...nor for the waitresses attitude - stiff and moody - nor for the extreme low choice of gluten-free foods...

The staff at Hôtel L'Échiquier Opéra Paris were amazing! They were absolutely amazing, we had a quick check in process. We had some concerns that us not knowing English would be an issue but it wasn't at all. The majority of the staff spoke English quite will. The breakfast was beautiful and very filling. We had help at check out with calling a cab to help us get to the airport. I think their rooms are so wonderful, the house keeping did a wonderful job as well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is visiting Paris!

First of all the staff at the reception was very friendly and professional. That was the first impression and this is important. Secondly, I really liked the fact that the hotel is not too big. My room was on the 5th floor and really quiet which allowed me to sleep well. Breakfast was very good and the decor of the breakfast room as well as the decor in general pleased me a lot.

Staff are not well enough versed in booking trips , although their willingness cannot be faulted. The hotel had been stripped of most the original Art Nouveau features leaving it characterless. We felt that for the price per night breakfast should be included. A real tea cup and spoon for the room and cupboard fascilities were missing. Nothing beats English tea in the room, certainly not herbals. Would have eaten there if not so expensive compared to local restaurants of similar character. No brochures of where to visit and what to see, no advice on how to use the transport or maps for same. Bed was comfy and large. Linen good quality. Cleanliness good.
