Very good hotel. Clean, good value. I think the breakfast in overvalued, it could be less expensive. The service was very good, The cleanliness in general, and the most important the excellent location, nearby the metro station and other public transportation.

« Lots of things went wrong. »

Lots of things went wrong with my stay. The first morning, I woke up and there was no hot water. I tried calling reception, but they couldn't hear me, so they just hung up. So, I had to go downstairs to talk to them. They gave me a key to another room on another floor so I could take a shower. I went to the elevator, and the key didn't work. They showed me to another elevator, the key worked, and I went up and took a shower. When I gor back to my room, my room key was no longer working. I went back downstairs. The receptionist came back up with me to check that the key was indeed not working. (Actually, it was the card reader on the door that wasn't working.) She told me to wait 2 minutes while she brought up a computer to reset the card reader. I waited 15 minutes. I went back downstairs. I waited while she sorted out the computer and we went back upstairs together. It took about 10 minutes to fix it. I missed the first talk of the conference I was attending. They were meant to fix the water, the door, and the phone that day. I don't know if they fixed the water and the phone, but when I got back to my room that night, at 1 a.m., the door was again not working, so I again had to go downstairs, and this time they gave me a new room. I got ready for bed in the new room, and after about 15 minutes they had managed to unlock my original room so I could transfer my things over. The ladies were efficient enough about solving the problems, but I never once got an apology. They only seemed as frustrated as I was. They did give me a few extras I asked for, like a free breakfast, a bottle of water, and a late check-out, but all in all it was very frustrating! Especially since I was very tired, having just flown in from Canada.

Check in was frustrating because I booked a room for 3 adults online through a 3rd party site. When I arrived they told me the 3rd person had to be a child but there were three adults in our group. I had to upgrade merely because the 3rd person was an adult instead of a child and pay more. The website should not have allowed me to select 3 adults and book a room online if the hotel wanted the 3rd person to be a child, which is ridiculous anyway. It should not cost more to sleep 3 adults in a room than it costs for 2 adults and a child to sleep in a room, bottom line. 3 people is 3 people. So after having to pay more, stay was ok. Toilet had a leak in the bathroom that flooded the bathroom overnight but the staff cleaned it up right away.

I went to look at the booking website if there was the information contrary to what I'm talking about and on the website it is written that it is a double room (two people) and extra bed for child. The people who works at the hotel were very kind and helpful. The room was good and clean, but we think it will be better to add a coffe maker or kettle to make hot water. The breakfast was very good and it has a variety of food.

I was given an early checkup min which was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean and up to date. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only thing I could think that I wasn’t completely satisfied with was the bed and pillows. I would give them a 8/10

It is always a pelasure to return to this hotel. All the staff is very nice and kind, and they do try hard to make the guests feel comfortable. This particular hotel is slightly superior (in terms of comfort and quality of services) to other premises in the Ibis chain.

Dear manager, Att: Ibis posto 5 I came hereby to show my disappointment with the way issues are handled in your property. Well, all was going well during and before my stay here at Ibis posto 5. The lady by the name of Luisa was amazing to us over the phone a week before our arrival, she was very helpful, friendly and professional. The lady who checked us in Khetetela was amazing as well and the other young lady with the curly reddish hair ( apologies I can’t recall her name) overall the staff was good to us. Suddenly right at the end of our stay 25/04/2018 we got disappointed. I left the Hotel with my friend at 1:30pm to the beach and did not carry any money with me leaving it at the Hotel bed side desk trusting that I would spend my friend’s money then when we back I would pay her back. I have been traveling all over the world and I never had to hide things due to non trustable staff. I had valuable things to put in the safe and I had in mind that because it’s just 16Reais I wouldn’t be robbed yes I call it robbed because what’s not yours you do not take it without permission. This complain is not actually about the amount of money but for being robbed and taken out my privacy. I had 16Reais when I left the hotel but when I came back around 03:40PM only found 4 Reais. How come? As per the supervisors Andre and other lady They went into an internal investigation and the only people who went into the room was us and the housekeeping lady, they were always freezing that the staff is trained and they never had this kind of issue. Ok I do believe but who took the money then? I wanted an apology letter and they couldn’t afford to do it and seemed not to be that helpful. They gave the same explanation twice and gave me the money and made me sign the attached documentation which I had to add few words. The solution was not really helpful that’s why I’m writing to the head office to see what can be done. I will be checking out tomorrow at 11:30am hope I can hear from you before I leave. Seriously all was going well until this happened, now it’s a bit tricky for us to go out imagine what else can happen. Before I forget, my friend also found her hand bag opened yet Lucky her there was no money. I repeat is not about the money but about the privacy invasion and the way things were handled. I would not recommend the Ibis group anymore. I look forward to hear from you. Laila Ruface Note: I wrote a complain to the head office and to the GM email on the 25th evening but seems like you do not care at all. What a disappointment. I’m about to write it all on trip advisor as well.

Unfortunately we worked with people, I talked to the person in charge of the apartment and I informed them about what happened. Due to the fact we will put her to work only accompanied from now until the end of her experience contract, when we will end the same. Well located hotel with a very helpful, friendly, professional, hard working and lovely staff. Our room was new, the internet was very fast and I would gladly come back whenever travelling again to Rio for business or tourism. 9/10 because the breakfast was not as good as we had expected. Since Ibis had just implemented a new coffee machine when we were there, this might have improved in the meantime.
