« Great location and value »

Easy 10 minute walk from Gare Saint Lazare and 2 minutes from Rome Metro. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was a problem with the lift and the manager carried my bag down 3 flights of steps! Plenty of cafes and restaurants all around. Very pleasant stay at affordable price.

We had one problem at the hotel. The pillows were so hard that we couldn't enjoy a good nights sleep. The hotel was unable to supply either feather pillows or soft pillows. This spoiled our enjoyment of the hotel. Surely a four star hotel could have met our requirements? The towels were all pretty well worn. New fluffy quality towels would be much appreciated.

« Was good and bad in equal measure »

On the whole I was satisfied with the room and cleanliness of it. I have major issues with two things. Firstly the WiFi did not connect at all in our room which is incredibly poor in this day and age. Now I have had WiFi issues before in hotels but that was in developing countries and even then at least I could connect to the WiFi. we informed the gentleman on reception (night time) of the issue and he just shrugged his shoulders and said some rooms don't get a WiFi signal without either saying sorry or offering a solution which absolutely infuriated my wife and I. When we checked out the next day at least the gentleman on reception then had the decency to say sorry and said he will inform someone of the issue (whether he did or not is none of our concern but the way he handled our issue was so much better).

Encountered a few issues, out flight was delayed from our departure so we got there late no fault of their own. But the guy at the desk couldn’t speak English properly and he was frustrating. We had no option for food at all from the hotel as it was midnight when we reached. We had to order a takeout which arrived 1.5 hours later. On one of the days our room was cleaned but the bedding was not changed and it had spots of blood and the smell was horrible. We told the reception and it was same guy from the night we arrived and said ok and that’s all we had to go as we had a taxi waiting. Overall experience was OK.

« the quiet room I requested was not available when checking in but the receptionist found one and changed the reserved room »

my room was very small. There were no toiletries apart from soap and a fixed shower gel. There were only 2 tiny capules of cream for teas and coffees. The bathroom needs maintainence, painting and regrouting. The breakfast was nice but only scrambled or boiled eggs so other hot dish available.

« Short but very nice »

At check in everything was ready. I got an upgrade to Priviledge, and a small present of some chocolates. Made me feel very welcome. The room was very nice, even better than other Priviledge rooms at other Mercure hotels in Paris. The lobby looks very welcoming and confy, with the firplace and nice sofas to relax I am just sad my stay was very short and did not get to enjoy this hotel for too long. Only complaint, was the work area in the room was quite small.

General room was clean. Reception staff were good. Shower door was broken, shower floor was moldy. Previous guest dirty underwear was left in the bathroom. Toilet rolls not replaced. Light from air conditioning control unit was too bright and lit up whole room. Noisy location, could hear people going up and down stairs. So did not get good sleep.

I was very disappointed with the hotel. It's advertised as 4* but was not like any 4* I have stayed in. Firstly, it's very annoying to have to go up and down to ask for things as the telephones didn't work. Wifi wasn't provided on check in (had to ask for it). No info on check out time given or in the room. Only one robe even though it was booked for 2 people. Only one cup on the first night even though booked for 2 people. Water was not replenished on the second day. On the plus it was very clean and reception staff were helpful when asked for questions.

Check in was great ,the Lady who received us was very nice despite language barrier ,upon stay Geofry was absolutely amazing ,helped us with city navigation and very prompt to help.Except the black gentlemen who cared less about attending or apologising about the fore alarm that woke us up at the crack of dawn.He couldn't be bothered he was about to change his shift so couldn't care less about us.Terrible guy.And he needed a long shower .Reception was full of stench while he on duty .

he had to sleep with the window open. There was allot of noise, and bugs came in the window. the result is that we did not get very much sleep. I have taken this matter up with our travel agent. We were told by the check in staff the matter would be fixed that day. the night staff later told us it had been broken for several weeks.
