« Had a bad time as we almost got bumped out of the hotel »

We had a horrible time. The check in took ages. The reception was not trained. Got into two tiny rooms after getting a class room session from the receptionist as to why I should not be asking for interconnecting rooms. Second day they said one room late check out of 3:00PM was fine. At 1:30 pm they said we have to immediately get out. I had ordered room service for lunch. The receptionist actually called to see whether that can be cancelled to throw us out!! The she had the audacity to ask what can we do now? At Geand Mercure it looks like we pay but all services are gesture of the management to undeserving guests like us...

« overall experience was good except floor level and view »

As a Le club member for more than 8 years , I have expected , high floor level instead of providing level 1 .The window was facing meat shop which was disastrous. Food was average and not sure why south Indian delicacies not part of Menu except break fast. Break fast was above average .No body was picking at Room service phone and we have to call reception couple of times

« A Mediocre Stay!! »

Wouldn’t say it was too good or too bad. The Front office people were so helping that they had arranged us a early check in and late check out on request. And we were very happy with their service. The rooms were nice, neat and clean which gave us a good sleep!! But your housekeeping and F&B team seriously needs a revision!! The buffets which we tasted on all the days were just ok when compared to other five star hotels like Taj or Radisson. I initially thought, only I felt that the food was tasteless. But I saw lots of ppl wasting so much of food simultaneously and understood the problem!! Similarly, your housekeeping team have to be expanded. Only one or two people who stroll down the entire floor to clean so many rooms is a tiresome process which consumes huge time. Do u think guests can wait for so much of time? I don’t think so!! Next, the in-room dining has to be surely improved.. we had ordered for filter coffees more than 10 times in all these days. And not even once, we were served with sizzling hot coffee. How will South Indians drink coffee that’s not hot? We expected a hott coffee everytime and got disappointed seeing just a warm coffee.. there’s a huge difference!! The only plus point in ordering coffee were those cookies that came with the coffee which in turn surprised us as it was hot and delicious!! Also, the time taken to deliver in-room orders is too much. You seriously need to work on that!! Sorry for writing what all I felt. But if you could work on these and correct it; you ll get More and more customers!!

Room sizes were not the same as mentioned in the hotel website. Restaurants while good lack variety, particularly room service. Cant get a decent South Indian filter coffee when the hotel is right in the middle of Coffee country.

We had an enjoyable stay and some of your staff really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable . I unfortunately do not remember the names of the staff but Saquib at the front desk was splendid ! Very gracious and hospitable . Punneet (hope I got the name right) was very polite and courteous and small acts like tucking in my son’s napkin were just one of the ways they went above and beyond . My dad is disabled and we had requested for wheelchair access .. the boys who helped my Father were very helpful and kind so thank you for that ! Overall we had a great stay however there are couple of comments - firstly , on one occasion when we were taking my dad upstairs after breakfast on he wheelchair , one of your lady front desk staff (I believe she was the front desk manager ) approached us . We thought she had come to offer help as my Husband was pushing the wheelchair however she asked if they could get the wheelchair back . I get it that the hotel may have limited wheelchairs but there is a place and time for everything .. and how you communicate is very important . it came across as abrupt and uncouteous . Secondly , your lobby would sometimes stink so you should have aromatic oils lighted . Many a times when we stepped out of the lift, it smelled like a washroom .. so you should get that fixed .

Very poor services. I stayed 2 nights but very bad experience. Even for simple things you have to call them multiple times...room service for food or even water bottle is pathetic. You have to literally beg them multiple times. Reception also is like that and do not value commitment.

« ROOM WAS STINKING »

Stayed for two nights where I have checked in two times. So, obviously I had to stay in two different rooms. On day 1 I stayed in room 224.I had no major problems during this stay apart from being asked to wait for 30 minutes to confirm my booking.I won't call it an issue. On day 2 I was given room 512 which was stinking badly as soon as we entered(after spending our day in coorg) . It was stinking so badly that I immediately asked for a room freshener,but only got it after an hour after calling the reception and room service for 3 times. The smell lasted all night and we couldn't sleep which made us to checkout the room at 5 in the morning without even having our breakfast. I had to drive the whole day to Hyderabad, without NO sleep. Day 2 was miserable. I didn't even ask for the complaint book as I wanted to get out immediately. The 7 rating I gave is for the cordial boys (the trainees who gets our luggage to the room). Am I staying here the next time! NEVER. However I might visit By The Blue restaurant. I thought of posting about my miserable stay on day 2 on trip advisor but refrained from doing it as it is not going to affect your reputation anyway nor it will make my stay any better.

Gr8 place and location to be in. Double deluxe room was quite spacious and food served at the restaurant was highly appreciable & one of the best cuisine available in Mysore . « Very good experience, can be at excellent with a few tweaks »

Overall, our stay (my parents and I) at GM was very good. The room was large (we were upgraded after a little bit of initial hiccup at checkin with minimum fuss). The restaurant service is 24/7 and hospitality and ambience is that of a 5 star property. Housekeeping and attention to any request is very good. Newspaper delivery, magazines availability for browsing can be improved. I used the spa and found it very good. I think this property with a little bit more attention to the "smaller details" can be a top-of-the-charts retreat in Mysore. Location is excellent.

« Holiday stay made enjoyable with very helpful staff and high standard hotel »

We enjoyed our stay here - the hotel was lovely. It's only two years old I understand so it is still in excellent condition, unlike a lot of hotels in India, incl 5 star hotels. The staff here were the friendliest and most helpful we experienced during our trip which took us to 6 hotels. My only gripe was when my husband, who was unwell and went to the bar to ask for a brandy for his sore throat, was given an expensive brand. He should have been offered both options.

The property is majestic and resembles shades of the Mysore Palace. The ambience inside is great, rooms are clean & tidy. All the staff that cross you greet you by the traditional "namaskara", which is nice :) The restraunt by pool side is amazing, La Uppa has very good food and very friendly & warm staff.. The staff at the reception in general lack warmth and the smile is missing .... However the one (Mr. Rubeitha) who handled our check in was courteous.. overall good stay!
