« Extremely uncomfortable stay »

Despite having written to the General Manager of the hotel regarding our special request, he did not have the courtesy to reply to my email. Only after the intervention of the Senior VP of Brigade Bangalore, I received a reply from him. The hotel has a travel desk which messed up our taxi transfer. On checking in, we found that the room was not in a quiet corner. There were children howling and adults talking aloud. We had a change of room on the top floor but this too was very very noisy at night. All the 5 nights of our stay were really bad. People were banging doors, children were screaming and adults talking aloud every night. We have not slept a single night. Seems like there is no sound proofing in the rooms. There was no hot water in the bathroom shower for 4 nights!The breakfast was adequate but F & B service was poor. The restaurant is like a 2 star place.The chairs are not cleaned, the floor has food bits on it and the staff is untrained. When we have not even finished our food and we have food in our mouth, the waiter is in a tearing hurry to clear the plate ! Some of the staff is also rude. When we spoke to the GM Sachin Malhotra about all this, he just offered us a visit to the spa ! Extremely insensitive and callous attitude from a GM. Except for Musadiq and Lovina at the Front Office, the rest of the staff especially Joyanta are very smooth talkers ! Joyanta has a lot of attitude.We do not recommend this hotel to ANYONE. There is nothing" grand "about Grand Mercure. The hotel staff is behaving very complacently and has a "no care" attitude because there are just very few hotels in Mysore.

The junior suite is just fine for 3 pax and the service and quality of room service is good. However, would appreciate if the management can handle unruly guests in more strict fashion. I had lodged my complaint with reception.

I paid premium for my dusherra stay. But the festival arrangements in front of hotel was extremely poor. Some examples,..only first row people can see. No snacks were distributed. No crowd management by hotel staff,..everybody were standing as per their wish blocking others way,... There was no welcome when I checked in

Booked this hotel for attending Dasara celebrations in Mysore with my parents. We paid for a 3 person room. Not only was the room tiny but everything was stocked only for 2 people. We called the room service 5 times no less for an extra glass to drink water from. Since the room was set for 2 people, the towels, pillows and bedding was set only for two. We had to request for the third one of everything multiple times. Every time they would say it would get done immediately but either took forever or never happened. We were staying there for 2 nights and explained multiple times that we are 3 people. The next day again after room cleaning, they replaced all the items with 2 fresh ones instead of 3. Worst part was that at night when we requested them for an extra bed, they said they were out of stock. We had to push them to put an extra mattress.

Staff is extremely friendly and will do their best to address your requirements. They make this hotel special. They are highly responsive though can be more proactive in communication. Rooms are small compared to other 5 star properties in Mysuru. Food and room service was excellent. However the Karnataka Thali which was a Dasara special was a major disappointment. Hopefully they will put more efforts into appreciating the local cuisine. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
