We stayed here for 3 nights and had the best experience all along. Right from the staff who ushered us in , to the welcome desk at the reception, to the staff at their in house restaurant La Uppu , and  even the house keeping staff of our hotel floor , literally everyone behaved and attended to us and our needs in the most sincere and attentive manner. My first interaction happened with Lavina from the front desk ( guest relations) days before we checked in. I was planning to surprise my husband with a *welcome back theme* and Lavina left no stone unturned to make that happen. Her attention to detail and warmth in dealing with our requests every now and then pampered us no bounds. Our 3 day stay included complimentary breakfast at the hotel restaurant La uppu and boy , the food was fantastic! The spread was lavish, delectable and wide spread. As a family of 4 that has most varied tastes , we were lucky to be in a place that catered to our tastebuds! There were dosas and idlis for the regulars, pancakes and omelettes for the indulgent and for the picky like yours truly, we had sauteed veggies , chicken salad and fresh fruit juices. Again , the service in the restaurant was top notch. Just a corner of the eye glance and we were attended to within seconds. Pavan, Kavya , Mithun , Vinay , Bhoja,  and esp Gangadhar with his team were efficient and quick. Our 3 day trip became so joyful with each passing day more so because of the relentless hospitality of each and every person working there. Very rarely do we come across hotels such as Grand Mercure Mysore where they take public relations so seriously and pursue meeting high standards of hospitality. Again , a few names of the staff that deserve a mention are : Lavina ( public relations and front desk ) , Shruthi ( booking) , Soumya , Niranjan and Ahmed ( front desk) Pavan , Kavya , Vinay and Gangadhar in restaurant and Sarat, Sagarika , priyanka ( housekeeping) .

« Hotel employees are not aware about the privilages offered to a gold member »

The hotel employees were not aware of the privileges offered to gold members, also the tariff offered was same as one available on any third party travel website, while usually Members have a 10% discount. On a positive note Laveena was helpful in organising our onward journey. Overall, the hotel has to go a long way in customer service. I did not have a good experience and would not want to stay in the hotel again.

Great Experience ...visited on Mothers day and the entire staff went out of their way to may it one of the most memorable mothers day ever ... my parents were extremely touched .. the team went an extra mile to make it special ... I have stayed in almost every hotel in Mysore and am a hotelier myself but by far I think that the GRAND MERCURE is out standing .. Let Me start with the arrival which is extremely warm ... perfectly blended welcome drink with the right neck less and a pleasant lady Lavina at welcome ...Then you move to the check in to the polite Joyanta like the name states ... And then Not to miss @ the Grand Mercure you have to meet Shakti who is most courteous and will go out of his way to make your stay more than comfortable ..... Salute to Mr Sachin the Genaral Manager Who is always around the place making sure everything is intact and all going well with guest .. its awesome to have a conversation with Mr Sachin who in a few words can describe a lot ... The Hotel is well maintained, House keeping is very prompt and so is room service ... amenities placed in the rooms are neat ....The food however can be improved ...Check in and check out was prompt and quick ...Did not use the pool but the view is fab ... Should have promos or discounts on Bar for In House guest (just a suggestion ) ....last but no the least the bell desk and the security most helpful and always smiling .... Food was great, service was excellent. all the staff were eager to help. if asked for anything the staff took real good care of it. Only thing which I want to mention is there was a FOUL SMELL in the corridor of the 5 the floor, and many of our friends were complaining about the aircon of their room as not as strong, Though our room no 511 was excellent.

This was our first visit at this hotel. The check in was professionally attended to. Overall staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. Particularly the staff at the restaurant downstairs. It was a lovely transition stay for a night. The team members are extremely warm and very eager to come forth and assist for the smallest of your needs. The food was very well laid out with a good variety. The South Indian spread was authentic. Yogesh their F&B manager was extremely cordial and helpful. Rooms wede clean and spacious. Food at the restaurant downstairs was good. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Woukd have liked more toiletries and bath towels in room but these were brought to room very quickly when requested.

« Good but could be better »

Overall a good experience. The teams at the reception, housekeeping and By the Blue were very good and polite. Had a couple of issues: - ordered lime slices in the morning which did not turn up even after an hour. Had to leave and hence never received a simple order. - on the day of check in I had someone call and try and sell me a lower room. While the idea was fine it should have been handled better
