« Wedding in Edinburgh »

There was nothing wrong with the hotel per se. I was just that I hadn't realised the type of establishment that it was when I booked it. It is NOT a hotel. It is basically a studio flat. If you are staying for a week and want to do a bit of self catering it could well suit you, but I was up for my nephew's wedding and planning on eating out. The room was clean and tidy, but if you want your room serviced during your stay it costs extra. Although the fold down bed was comfortable enough I would have preferred a proper bed. I pre-paid for breakfast about £30 for my three night stay and was so underwhelmed by the breakfast buffet on the first morning that I went out and bought breakfast at a local café the next two days. (I would recommend the Edinburgh Larder about 150m up the hill in Blackfriars Street) What I wanted was a conventional hotel which The Adagio is not. If I was up in Edinburgh working for a fortnight it might be a place worth considering, but for my three night trip it didn't really work.

« No problems »

The studio apartment was fine, however I didn't need the cooking facilities and would have preferred a fixed as opposed to fold down bed. If I was working in Edinburgh for a week, I would come back, but if I am spending a couple of days on holiday I think I would book a conventional hotel. I also did not think that the breakfast buffet was value for money.

« Spacious, clean, well organised apartment. »

Greeted by pleasant staff & apartment was found to be exactly what we needed. Plenty of room & a well designed accommodation with storage, hanging space and power points. One thing missing was a toaster.

« We loved the quiet dark room. The breakfast was satisfactory but needs some improvement. »

We stayed for seven nights, with breakfast included. This was our first stay in an Adagio hotel.

« One horrible male staff & some confusions among staff. Room is good. »

The room itself is good. The front desk staff did not seem to coordinate well. It took a woman a long time over the phone to make 2nd reservation, and the staff in the morning shift asked us to move out our room after the night shift staff told us we could keep the same room. Check-in also took quite a while as the woman couldn't locate our 2nd reservation straight away & needed some help from her colleague. The worst part is to check out. My husband gave our luggages to this horribly ill manner male staff & told him we were going to pick them up on Friday. (Checkout was Wednesday) He had no issue & gave him the tickets for keeping the luggages.. While I gave him back my room card, he told me we had a balance to settle. I told him I paid everything upon check-in. It took him a while to search in the computer. I told him we were late to catch train. He left the front desk to ask his colleague. I found my payment receipt when he came back and showed it to him. He just said "I checked with my colleague already." Without a word of apology for holding us there for his own mistake. When I asked him what time should we come back to pick up our luggages on Friday. He said we can't keep our luggages there. It is against the company policy to leave them for more than a day. I felt if he could say it in a nice way, we would be okay with the confusion. But he was so unfriendly, had no manner & totally didn't care a thing we had to say or our lateness for catching a train. We did offer to pay for leaving the luggages but he just told us to get them out of there. I had to tell him to bring our luggages out so we could take them with us. He was so slow & lack of empathetic capacity. The office in our next hotel in Edinburg was willing to take our luggages before we checked in. So we took the taxi & dropped off with them. We will never come back to this hotel. They need to train their staff better.

« Amazing Stay at Adagio Edinburgh »

Such an amazing hotel apartment to stay while in Edinburgh. Its so conveniently located on Royal Mile next to virtually everything. So close to waverly station we actually walked up. The staff was polite and helpful. The room was comfortable and the kids loved it.

« Great service but the room was a bit small »

The service from staff was excellent. We didn't have any problems. I have given this a 4 out of 5 rating because for an apartment, the room was very small. Having said that the space was well thought out and functional.

« Great hotel and location! »

I loved staying at the Adagio Aparthotel in Edinburgh! The room was ideal, great size and had everything we needed. And the hotel itself was in a fantastic location to be close enough to walk to all the tourist sites and restaurants. I would definately stay here again.

Perfect location on the royal mile close to parliament. Only thing missing from rooms was washing machines which were in the basement at a small cost

The hotel is well located on the Royal Mile, but the bed was far too hard and our sleep suffered as a result.

« We enjoyed our stay »

The staff were friendly and helpful. We could not find information about the room cleaning service. When we did book it, there was a muddle and we didn't get the room done til the day before we left. Disappointing. Also I lost an earring down the plug hole and no effort was made to get it out. The room was ok, rather dark, but we liked the way the furniture could be moved around to make a diniing table

« Convenient, Clean and Comfortable »

We were there the last few days of Fringe. Our room was clean and comfortable albeit a little on the small size for three of us. We had a good stay and we were close to everything that we wanted to see and visit. The storage was good and the furniture design was conducive to efficient design. The shower had good pressure but you needed to be careful about the shower door, which was only a partial door, so as not to have water spill out onto the floor. The pull out trundle bed in the living space worked well. The front desk was helpful and having the opportunity to buy beer and wine was a nice perk. The breakfast is overpriced for what one received given the proximity of other cafe's within a block.
