Travelled through from Glasgow by train and it was a short walk to the hotel from Waverley station. The hotel was in a great location on the Royal Mile and walking distance to all the main attractions. The hotel was in a lovely building with great facilities. The price per night was quite expensive but you would pay the same for similar hotels in Edinburgh.

The room was dirty and the towel warmer was broken. The AC/heat controls did not work so the room was stifling and dry.

Urgent Complaint Regarding Hotel Service and Manager's Unhelpful Attitude

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided by your hotel, specifically concerning an incident involving the front desk staff and the manager, Andria. My family and I arrived at the check-in desk at 10 pm on April 3rd, 2024, only to be informed that our room had been given to a walk-in guest without proper verification of their identity. Despite having paid the full amount, we were left waiting at the reception for over 2.5 hours until midnight, as the front desk staff, particularly Issac, informed us that there were no available rooms left. After the lengthy wait, Issac managed to secure a room for us. However, upon entering the room, we were met with a foul smell and poor ventilation. It became apparent that the previous guest had also experienced this issue, as they had requested to change rooms on the same day. Issac assured us that he would arrange for a room with a street-facing window to improve ventilation by the following morning. Despite Issac's assurances, the morning manager, Andria, disregarded our previous agreement and dismissed our concerns. Despite offering to show her the condition of the room, Andria displayed a lack of empathy and professionalism, seeing us as troublesome guests rather than addressing the issues at hand. On March 26th, 2024, we had a pleasant stay in room 234, which is why we requested a similar room. I know your hotel have the ability to accommodate our needs for a better ventilating room. However, Andria, the manager of the morning team, refused to honor the arrangement made by Issac the previous night. Despite our attempts to address the issue and find a satisfactory solution, Andria displayed a dismissive and unhelpful attitude. The odor in the room was so strong that it caused us severe headaches throughout the night, making it impossible for us to sleep. Despite our efforts to seek assistance at 4 am, there was no one available at the front desk. Consequently, we were compelled to vacate the room at 7 am due to the unbearable conditions. Our attempts to resolve the situation with Andria were met with reluctance and unhelpfulness. As we still have three nights remaining in our stay until April 7th, 2024, this experience has marred our Easter holiday trip. I must emphasize that this has been the most uncomfortable stay I have ever endured, and Andria's handling of the situation has only exacerbated the matter. I urge you to address these issues promptly and provide a resolution to ensure the remaining duration of our stay is satisfactory. Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss this matter further and offer assistance in rectifying the situation.
