Stay was good. We only stayed one night and came in around 6pm. From my experience staying at other hotels, this one was very simple but comfortable and welcoming. Room had basically everything we needed. Bathroom was a little dated but clean. Staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Underground parking is great and affordable.

This was our second time staying here and the room was tidy and well presented. The room service was amazing, hot and tasty. They even made sure that my meal was safe due to allergies. The breakfast was great for my oldest daughter and husband but not a lot for myself and youngest with allergies (not a biggie). The shower kept going between hot and cold which made showering an infant a bit tricky to get the water right. Otherwise it definitely suited our needs and we would stay here again.

Disappointed to find that the king bed was actually 2 single beds joined together. Also, the window was open on arrival and could not be closed fully. Was not informed by staff that a fee of $50 would be held on my credit card.

Very average. Staff member that checked us in was too concerned with delivering room service, than checking myself and my colleague in and providing assistance or directions. Apparently the kitchen had just closed as we arrived (8:50pm) (but all the signs & the "open please take a seat" sign said it didn't close until 9:30), however the girl behind the bar had closed off and was counting the register. We asked if there was anywhere close by that might still be open and the staff member told us to order uber eats or go up to our room and order room service. We went to our room and tried to order room service, but no-one answered the phone (twice). We decided to go for a walk and see if there was somewhere close by that might still be open and as we were leaving, we let the staff member know that we tried to call room service and no-one answered and he just said "sorry" and walked into the kitchen. Pretty unimpressed with the service on a whole - except for the staff member that handled our checkout on Friday 1st Dec - she was lovely and helpful and friendly. The elevator door also opens before the elevator has even come to a stop. The big laundry collection bins are stored in the hallways making it a bit cramped to walk through. The rooms look freshly painted and are very spacious, the bathrooms are also very nice.

My stay at Mercure North Melbourne met all my needs. My husband was in Melbourne Private Hospital and was within walking distance from the Hotel. I found the staff friendly and polite and helpful from housekeeping to Donna on reception and Anita in restaurant .My only complaint being when I stayed an extra night (due to husbands discharge from hospital being delayed)the charge was $ 54 more expensive.I wish you and your staff at North Melbourne a very Merry Christmas.

I stay here because its central for what I do in Melbourne. The rooms are clean and the bed comfortable. The food is reasonably priced and enjoyable. For me its good value for money. Not too expensive for what the rooms are. Would like to see a clock in the room. There was never enough milk put in the fridge but those are small things. I personally would put mirrors in the lift because it is so small and has a claustrophobic feeling. The desk staff were great and really helpful and friendly. Dining staff seem a little short staffed but cope fairly well considering and are friendly as well. Its not a hotel that would suit everyone but if you want value for money I think its fine and will always stay here when in Melbourne
