Everything was fine except for the smell in the room. It really smelled like cigarette smoke.

However I was disappointed to hear that someone had smoked in the room prior to your stay. I completely understand and appreciate on how this would of detracted from your stay. Overall my stay was ok, simply ok. I chose to stay at Mecure North Melbourne for the proximity to where I needed to work over 2 days. It was 1 night and I could walk to and from the hotel. However the room I was in (208, road side) is in need of some TLC, particularly around the window area where there is evidence of water damage in the ceiling and window frames. While there was zero inter-room noise, there is significant need to improve the sound proofing of the windows. It was only that I had the tv up loud and/or the air-conditioner on that I managed to get any sleep. Front desk and room service staff were helpful and friendly and food was tasty and filling.

We stay at the Mercure because it is across the road from the Royal Childrens Hospital where we regularly have to take our son. It is very convenient, comfortable and clean and has somewhere safe to park our car. My only recommendation would be a bit of an update with painting etc and our stay this time was in a tiny room, where the bathroom would get very wet with only a shower curtain. Otherwise, our stays are always good.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff went out of their way to arrange co-joined rooms and beds to suit our needs. The $1 breakfast was amazing, a reason in itself to come back! Rooms were a little dated and dark but well equipped and clean. It was a pleasure to stay!

Staff were very nice & breakfast fine & room size was good. However when it rained water ran off the flat roof into the bedroom ...down the wall & onto a single bed making it soaking & causing a drip drip noise all night. Also the rain made a huge cockroach enter the bathroom & sit & defecate over our towels ..which had to be replaced by staff ..after they killed the cockroach. So all not ideal !

Disappointing. Mercires are normally good. Restaurant food fairly good. Service good but rooms small, shabby and not comfortable, especially for price. Bathrooms a disgrace.

The room is satisfying and the staff is nice as they gave us information about the local area, such as food and transportation. However, the lift in the hotel is quite old and scary. It makes us feel like the lift won't be able to hold our weight and will break soon. Otherwise, our overall feeling towards our stay in the hotel is satisfying.
