I had 3 wonderful days at the Mercure Condor Barcelona.... from check in with ( Barbara ) to my room & wonderful terrace ( Room 703 ) I was very content with my stay .... breakfast was perfect & the staff attentive & friendly ... location convenient to public transport .... all in all a great stay ....

I'm a member of Le Club Accor Hotels. I have Silver Card. Despite this fact: 1. The hotel didn't grant my request related to quiet room allocation. I received the room on the first floor with big noise (street noise) outside the window. Similar request was granted in many hotels out of AccorHotels. In AccorHotels such situation happened at the first time !!! During check in the woman at the reception told me that my room has quiet location. SHE WAS LYING! 2. The hotel didn't grant my request concerning leaving the postcard to send it. This situation happened at the first time too. 3. During making the reservation I was using 6000 points Rewards (accordingly the rules in this scope applicable in AccorHotels) and that enabled me not to pay 120 Euro (following the rules mentioned above). I prepaid the remaining part of the amount. The hotel wasn't take points from my Accor account directly after reservation. Before check out in the hotel the problem arose, because the receptionist thought that I should pay mentioned above 120 Euro. Se showed it total lack of knowledge of the rules in force in AccorHotels. I told her that I wouldn't pay this sum, because I acted in accordance with the rules in AccorHotels and hotel's duty is to take 6000 points form my Accor account. After returning home I contacted with Customer Service Accor. Employees of this service agreed withe the hotel that hotel will "burn" these 6000 points. I received security codes for this purpose and I sended them to the hotel. Unfortunately the hotel "burned" just 2000 points so far (3 weeks after returning). They didn't "burn" 4000 points. I am asking: is it so hard? Whether they can't or don't want to do it? Mayby is a form of intentional action by hotel????!!!!!!!! I suggest to you: AVOID THIS HOTEL! Mercure Barcelona Condor = lies, arrogance, disregard.

We are very sorry about the confusion regarding your points, it is indeed unusual to face this kind of situation. As you booked your reservation using your points, unfortunately they never arrived to our system, that´s why we had to burn them manually. Ir order to do, if we wanted to burn them at once, the system had to send you a security number. As we didn´t receive at time the code, we had to charge separately one voucher of 2000 points at the time. Everything is know fixed but we do understand your deception, kindly accept 1700 courtesy points on your loyalty card as part of our apologies. Once again, we appreciate you sharing your concerns, and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon to be able to change this taste of experience. Sincerely,

"Busy" staff, dirty room and wrong charge

I booked this hotel because i was a former employee of AccorHotel in Vienna and i know about the service usually in these hotels. Unfortunately this time i was wrong. Staff at the reception were all "busy" with starring at their smartphones, not even saying hello or looking at the guests. I was staying at the room 307, there was mold in the shower (needs to be repaired), and the mirror had stains. The bathroom door was not fully closing, there was still a gap and privacy was disturbed due to the fact, that it is not possible to close the bathroom/toilet door. Before arrival, around 1 week before, i contacted the hotel about the breakfast. I was told by the reservation manager, that the breakfast costs EUR 10,-/person. When i saw the invoice, it shows EUR 15,-/person, but i had no time to argue with the receptionist because i had to catch my flight. So i had been charged EUR 20,- more than it was supposed to be. One small tip for the night shift - due to Accor Privacy Policy (all Front Office Agents incl. me were taught about it in a E-Learning process), it is not usual to write guest's credit card details on a piece of paper. Even if the credit card is used as a guarantee, you have to insert it into the hotel system "Opera". Otherwise - you can lose the paper and someone else gets the credit card details.

Good lacalization, but it does not seems like a Mercury. It is much more an Ibis. Nothing at all to eat, except in breakfast. Only one person in reception, some times there is no one. The recptionist does not have any patience. They are not polite. Cleaning is acceptible.

The location of the hotel is great, quite central and very close to a few metro stops. The room was tidy and clean and room service was prompt. The espresso machine in the lobby was a nice bonus.

The room was not ready when we arrived and they charged us almost 30€ from the minibar when we did not consume anything.

We arrived at night and they gave us a key to a room that was not even cleaned. We went to the reception and they realized they had no room available for us (we had booked a room online, 1 month prior to our stay). After almost 40 minutes they finally resolved the situation. Then, after returning from our trip, we noticed they had charged us an extra 27.5€, without permission and even without notifying us. We contacted the hotel and they said we had taken out of the minibar a bunch of snacks and drinks. We most certainly did not take anything from the minibar, we did not even touch it. It has been 5 days since we made a complained to Mercure Condor Barcelona and to Accor Hotels and so far they have not been able to solve this problem. The Mercure Condor has even stopped responding to our emails. This situation is absolutely ridiculous for a Hotel of this level and price. We do not recommend this Hotel at all, unless you want unnecessary stress on your vacation and money wrongly taken out of your account.

The location, and transportation option around the hotel were good. The corridor on one of the floors had a weird smell. The room was lacking a box of tissues. Otherwise everything was good. The bed was comfy, as expected, the area where the hotel is located is quiet, and easily accessible with public transportation as well.
