« 1 year difference and hotel is awful »

Do you think to book this hotel, well try to avoid it. Here is why I would never stay again in Mercure Barcelona Condor (Alberta) I booked this hotel again after an excellent solo experience in the summer of 2016. Now I decided to stay with my wife and it wasn't a good Idea to choose the same place for 5 nights. 1. Bad internet. We combined this trip with business and pleasure. On the first day my wife had an exact timeline to send a presentation and the internet did not worked. The Staff at the reception told as that for long time she encounter the same issues with the internet and other guests too. After several days the internet started to work. I would like to remind to the managers that we are in 2017 not in 1997. 2. Pillows - when choose I stay in a 4 **** (four) stars hotel I expect to have normal -> to excellent pillows. Right now all we have discovered some "sausage" type pillows. When I asked for normal pillows reception gave me another two "sausages". I asked again in a day and there were no pillows at all. Therefore, instead of resting normally - I had to find a normal position to sleep on those sausages. This is unacceptable and I hope the managers of this hotel to sleep for their entire life on similar pillows. 3. Cold floor - Marble floor wasn't in the description of our room. Slippery, and cold feet guaranteed. 4. Hotel is getting old. 6. Breakfast is good but almost similar. 7. Staff at the reception willing to help but... Also it seems that it is a big rotation of new staff (not a good sign) Conclusion: Avoid the Mercure Barcelona Condor if you want to have normal holidays or business trips in Barcelona. PS. This was the worst experience I have encountered in any ACCOR hotel ever.

« Average hotel, nice room upgrade but bad customer service experience »

The hotel is OK and we were pleased to get a room upgrade upon check in as the baby cot wouldn't have fit into the original small room. When I change the rooms after check in I forgot my luggage protector in the original guest room (cabinet drawer) and when I wanted to look for it before check out I was not allowed to check for the same. I was only told it's no there without any further investigation. I'm almost certain it is still in one of the drawers in the room and was very disappointed that the staff didn't go the extra mile and go to look for it.

Nice hotel and staff. The Room was fine but a little bit small. breakfast was good but could have a little bit more choices. They have an agreement with a parking which is less than 1min from the hotel.

« Check In time on the website is wrong »

My second stay at the hotel. The hotel website states that check-in time is noon (12h00) which was great since my flight was landing around the same time. However when I reached there around half past noon, the staff told me that the check-in at noon was subject to availability and was advised to come back at 2 pm which is not the greatest thing to hear after a long flight. So either the hotel should correct its website or actually allow check-in as stated there. Otherwise, the hotel has a great location, is well connected and is a decent place to stay.

« Room ridiculously small »

The room is smaller then the terrasse. It’s very badly designed with a fixed TV screen in front of the door. Not even a small desk or chair on this room. The coffee machine and the free soft drinks in the mini bar won’t let you forget how unpleasant is the room.

« Beautiful Barcelona »

Our stay in Barcelona was wonderful. The hotel was just fabulous. Free coffee in the foyer. Lemon water in the foyer. Lollies in the foyer. Friendly staff that were very happy to help us. No problem to get wine glasses for the room etc. Great location. Bakery a few steps away. Cafes and restaurants and grocery store around the corner. Taxi rank right in front of the hotel and the taxis are inexpensive. Barcelona is so much fun and has so much to entertain you. I fully recommend this hotel for a great stay in Barcelona. We would stay here again in a heart beat!

« Wonderful staff but marginal accommodation »

Great Caring front desk staff, but facilities and accommodation relatively poor - at least the room I stayed in 601 - dirty walls very small room, balcony with no chair, gap in lining of shower in which I could look up to next level and multiple requests for coffee and associated things ( sugar, milk, stirrers etc ) not acknowledged meaning I had to pick them up from the reception area on 3 occasions out of 7 day stay.

Excellent value hotel not too far from Las Ramblas. Good restaurants near the hotel as the hotel offers only breakfast. Very professional personal. Very quiet even if located on an avenue. A home away from home.

Excelent ****s hotel. Great location for business or fun. Great cleaning. Front desk staff helpful and cozy, with highlight to mr. Pablo, who treated us exceptionally, with valuable tips on Barcelona. Only the breakfast that could have more options.

« not a 4 star hotel »

This hotel is well below its peers. As a frequent traveller I was disappointed by the mediocre hotel room: old furniture, tasteless design, uncomfortable bed and paper walls. Barely no air extraction in the bayhroom. Breakfast was good. All in all, this is closer to a 3 star hotel like an Ibis Styles.

« I was extremely happy with the service and accomodations provided, a great value. »

Friendly, helpful staff. Room much more luxurious (701) than anticipated. Location was just enough out of the way to not be hectic but still near all tourist areas. Recommendation for near-by restaurants was appreciated. Your team efficiently stored our luggage after check-out before our flight. All together it was a very positive experience. The only negative would be the cleanliness and comfort of the lobby furniture. That could be improved.

« Nice hotel - reasonable location - friendly and polite staff »

I enjoyed my stay. Everything was as I expected and the staff were notably polite and friendly. There was a little confusion over the availability of an iron and ironing board which was annoying as this was a business trip and I needed ironed shirts but this was not a big issue.

At check-in I was given the key to a room that was already occupied, and then all bed sheets had blood marks on them. Reception said that they would not know how to make a bed but then brought 1 pillowcase and 1 duvet cover (which was not sufficient to cover 2 blood marked single beds). Someone followed up the next day but it still meant that we had to sleep on someones blood marks. The walls were dirty too and the list of TV channels does not reflect what the actual channels are. Also, there is no hint how to contact reception via telephone and as the given number did not work, we had to go down each time anyway. Positive point: great location and it is quick to get to the city centre. Considering the quality of the room and the challenges we experienced with service and cleanliness, I can summarise that this hotel is absolutely overpriced.

The rooms are large, well furnished and with a modern decor. The service is attentive and cordial. The breakfast is great and the location is good but you will need transport to the main points of the city.

« Nice remodeling hotel but too noisy »

I spent only one night but really disappointed by : the 1rst room they gave was not properly cleaned - so they moved me to a small one at the corner of 2 busy streets . So be aware buses, homeless people and traffic start raising from 5.00 am in the morning !
