« Nice hotel on a quitte area »

The reception was very nice. Due to an IT error, the number of persons about to accomodaties has not been well passend. The receptionist has upgraded our room to an apartment.

We have had a stay for 3 nights in October 2018. I'm a Platinum Member of Accor hotels and quite often stay in Mercure hotels. I as a Platinum member got really bad room. So, my feelings: Room - bed is very poor. Instead of double bed, there were two single which are on the wheels! It was not possible to sleep together, so were needed to sleep separately - mattress was very poor quality, it had just springs inside, so I all the time had a pain in the back after the night:( - the furniture was very poor repaired, see photo. It was not really staying and was almost to be broken again - even being two of us in the room, we were all the time getting 1 portion of sublimated coffee and 1 plastic cup. How do they think us to drink? together from one cup?? Bathroom - not really clean, it was not pleasure to be there. Is it that difficult to clean it? Cleaning - there was no cleaning. Only they did is put new towels and 1 cup and 1 coffee. - we haven't got even single time the new shampoo or bath gel Corridor - All the time the cleaning staff were parking their trolley in front of the room, I was needed all the time to cross it and try to fit myself into this small space to get to the room. Hotel location. Nothing special. To get to the beach you need to walk 1 hour. By transport - 54 min. So no real benefit you would get staying there in the hotel. Reception confirmed that there is no transfer to the sea.

« A great location, hotel met our needs »

We had an enjoyable stay, liked the fact it wasn’t too busy and in a resort that is easily accessible to restaurants, Salou and PortAventura. We hired a car so was easy to get around. Rooms were clean and ok for a family of 4, cleaned daily, kitchen eqp available on request. Air conditioning didn’t work at first but reception soon reset it and advised to leave it on during the hot days so was cool when we came in. Pool area was nice and not too overcrowded, beds and grass area handy for kids to play. Breakfast was simple, sometimes it was busy and staff struggled to keep up with demand (no plates, cups or hot food at times), although they were working hard to keep up. Always friendly and welcoming. Great that towels were available for the pool. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Pool table was handy. One Lift out of order last few days but suppose that can’t be helped. Didn’t feel right to walking through the restaurant to get to the pool area.

really nice, the staff were great and really helpful. The room was clean. My only suggestion would be to start AC unit just prior to checkin. The room had some aspects that were a little tired looking particularly kitchen, could use a spruce up. TV could use a longer antenna cable so it could be used from other side of room when sitting on sofa.

The hotel and restaurant were absolutely fine, but the air conditioning in room 502 did not work at all, this made for a very uncomfortable night, opening the window only let the insects in!

Initial reception good but often no one at desk. Lifts were very slow and on one occasion not working properly. Cafeteria - service slow and on Sunday no information that food not available as private party.

« Very pleasant stay (and excellent value for money in June) »

The receptionist was helpful and we were impressed with her switching between 4 languages fluently. This hotel has a certain wow factor we weren't expecting, with the central ground floor reception and then looking up at 8 floors of rooms around the atrium. It wasn't busy in June, which was nice for us, I can imagine in July and August its very popular. I didn't get to use the pool or spa. We were offered a free welcome drink in the bar and the fixed price dinner menu was excellent value and very tasty and had a decent choose of things to eat. The lady who worked in restaurant worked very hard keeping all the dinners happy all on her own. I can see its good location for porta aventura or ferrarie land however it was also great for exploring tarragon just down the road. I think we will be back.

« Very good for the profoundly deaf »

Unless you are hard of hearing do not stay at this hotel. Booked in for 2 nights, Kept awake until after 2AM with shouting from the lobby and the constant banging of bedroom doors. Door noise started again at 6.30 AM. Noise so bad we checked out and booked in at another hotel for our second night. I now know why we were charged for our 2 nights on arrival, others must have left after the first night. On complaining the response was a shoulder shrug.

« Useful stopover but disappointingly smelly room »

We have stayed at this hotel several times on our journeys around Spain. Normally in the past there have been no problems with the suites we have used, but on this last occasion our room had a real smell of drains that emanated from the bathroom. This had a real negative effect on our stay and I am not sure we will use this hotel again. Such a disappointment.

We do stay regulaty at this hotel, and this stay we booked and received the top floor room ( floor 8 ) with a small terrace. The rooms on this floor are less well used ( as it cost us and extra 20€ a night ) and they do not offer this as an Accor Platinum upgrade even when avalible. As a result they were in better condition. We would book these rooms again. We stayed during a French holiday period, and the hotel was reasonably full. The web site is unclear, and authough you think that you have access to the indoor pool free - it is just the out side one that is unheated. You have to pay a small fee for access to the inside heated area - it is not a pool, as it has water spa treatments. In the room you get 2 Nespresso type ( fake ) capusels - and two paper cups ( different size each ) also some powdered coffee and sugar. There was also a kitchen set - for the small kitchen area. However there was no milk. We were charged £2 at the resturant bar for a small glass cup of milk for making the coffee in the room. Later this was refunded. Some reviews say that the privalage rooms have free swim caps - I had never checked before - but having forgotton ours we did and could not find them. They were avalible for a charge at reception. It also seemed that we were the only ones who had paid the 5€ for the heated area. The door is opened by a change to your key card, but others who were there left the door open, or opened it for people who asked.... it is only human to do this, but the area became very quickly over full, with children jumping and running into the pool, and the cold plung pool being used as a "punishment" area for others who were taken by theire friends and thrown in. As this whole area is not supervised - except at the weekend - it is ripe for an acident. It was not calm and not safe. Nothing was done when reported. We had a resturant meal, that was only 13€ for three courses, but again, most options needed extra costs. The meal though was very good, but only one member of staff in the resturant. Did not see the kitchen. Overall, our stay was good, but it is not typical for the brand at the stated star rating. The hotel is not near much in walking distance, and I was shocked that a taxi to the airport ( Reus ) was estimated at 25€ - it was about 5kms away. This is not the hotels fault, but the who area is expensive for taxi services. We could not find any English lanugage TV channels.

A good stop over location, local bars and restaurants within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel does not have much of a atmosphere, more suitable for business trips than holiday, although excellent indoor pool and spa areA
