« Useful stopover but disappointingly smelly room »

We have stayed at this hotel several times on our journeys around Spain. Normally in the past there have been no problems with the suites we have used, but on this last occasion our room had a real smell of drains that emanated from the bathroom. This had a real negative effect on our stay and I am not sure we will use this hotel again. Such a disappointment.

« Nice stay but felt nickel-and-dimed a lot »

We do stay regulaty at this hotel, and this stay we booked and received the top floor room ( floor 8 ) with a small terrace. The rooms on this floor are less well used ( as it cost us and extra 20€ a night ) and they do not offer this as an Accor Platinum upgrade even when avalible. As a result they were in better condition. We would book these rooms again. We stayed during a French holiday period, and the hotel was reasonably full. The web site is unclear, and authough you think that you have access to the indoor pool free - it is just the out side one that is unheated. You have to pay a small fee for access to the inside heated area - it is not a pool, as it has water spa treatments. In the room you get 2 Nespresso type ( fake ) capusels - and two paper cups ( different size each ) also some powdered coffee and sugar. There was also a kitchen set - for the small kitchen area. However there was no milk. We were charged £2 at the resturant bar for a small glass cup of milk for making the coffee in the room. Later this was refunded. Some reviews say that the privalage rooms have free swim caps - I had never checked before - but having forgotton ours we did and could not find them. They were avalible for a charge at reception. It also seemed that we were the only ones who had paid the 5€ for the heated area. The door is opened by a change to your key card, but others who were there left the door open, or opened it for people who asked.... it is only human to do this, but the area became very quickly over full, with children jumping and running into the pool, and the cold plung pool being used as a "punishment" area for others who were taken by theire friends and thrown in. As this whole area is not supervised - except at the weekend - it is ripe for an acident. It was not calm and not safe. Nothing was done when reported. We had a resturant meal, that was only 13€ for three courses, but again, most options needed extra costs. The meal though was very good, but only one member of staff in the resturant. Did not see the kitchen. Overall, our stay was good, but it is not typical for the brand at the stated star rating. The hotel is not near much in walking distance, and I was shocked that a taxi to the airport ( Reus ) was estimated at 25€ - it was about 5kms away. This is not the hotels fault, but the who area is expensive for taxi services. We could not find any English lanugage TV channels.

« Convenient location »

A good stop over location, local bars and restaurants within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel does not have much of a atmosphere, more suitable for business trips than holiday, although excellent indoor pool and spa areA

« Nice hotel, but... »

Reception OK, but restaurant not. Visited restaurant during three days (breakfast and dinner), employeers very boared, no one smile during three days. No sleep at all in room 704. Ventilation room behind the wall and over the ceiling. Very heavy noise between 23.00 - 07.00. The bed was shaking like in a small earthcake.

« Nice hotel authough starting to show some signs of ageing »

This was our forth stay at this hotel. The standard of service and helpfulness is consistent and high. We did not eat at the hotel this time, although we have had breakfast in the past - that was good value. However we experienced a few small niggling problems with our stay this time. 1) TV in room did not have any English Language channels - despite the helpful ladies at reception telling us that it did - they tried to fix this - over the two day stay - but they could not alter the settings as the TV has a PIN code that the hotel could not remember ( including the technician who also tried to help ). 2) The Spa was a little cold, but warmed up on the second day. However we were charged 5€ for use when the web site said spa area free to hotel guests - and that we were not charged on previous stays. 3) The room was clean. However, it is showing signs of age related deterioration. It may be time to upgrade the rooms and especially the very old mattress that was in our room. We had an apartment type room with views over the theme park. Apart from these minor faults everything else was fine - including the free cava on Friday night served in reception !

« Okay,but not outstanding. Not the same as staying as staying at the Novotel in Valence France. »

Ok. We booked a room on the privilege level, 7th floor and frankly found it the same as staying on the lower floors. The bathrobe is nice. Nice to have a Nespreso machine in the room, but one capsule of coffee is lame. The breakfast is Adequate but nothing special. Novotel does much better. Your staff is verygood!!! Both in the restaurant and the front desk.

« A good standard stopover. »

We have stayed at this hotel several times and always find the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfasts are of a good standard. We always stay in a roomy suite on the top floor with cooking facilities if required, and our experience has always given excellent value for money.

We stayed in 805, two roomed apartment. You claim: ‘kitchen equipped with everything you need to make your stay the most comfortable.’ and describe it as ‘fully equipped kitchen.’ That is simply not true. We found: A sink. A microwave (the smallest and cheapest that you could buy.) A kettle and a coffee maker. A cooker hob with two hot plates. The equipment supplied: Two each cheap knives, forks and large spoons. A frying pan. A colander, A 2 litre pan with lid. 4 unmatched large plates. 3 or 4 large kitchen implements. There was a notice inviting us to ask for a ‘kitchen set.’ We went to reception and asked for that and were given a large white plastic box, we took that up to the room only to find that it was an exact replica of what was already provided in the room, except that the pan this time was a 5 litre pan! Probably big enough to cook a stew for 20 people. Is that what you anticipate in an apartment equipped for 2 people? How stupid can you get? There were no cups, no saucers and no small plates. There was no cutting board (which explains why previous visitors had cut and marked the kitchen surface. Is that what you do in your own home?) There were no glasses of any sort. No small spoons (for eating yoghurt). No cloths for drying dishes and NO CONTAINERS OF ANY SORT THAT COULD BE USED IN THE MICROWAVE! How can you possibly claim that it is a fully equipped kitchen? That is simply dishonest. We asked for the missing items to be supplied and they were brought to us, except that we were never given any cloths for drying purposes or dishes or utensils to use in the microwave. So how were we expected to use it? Fortunately, as seasoned travellers we are well aware that establishments such as yours seldom, if ever, live up to their claims. (However you have plumbed the depths in that respect so far as we are concerned.) Thus we anticipate such disappointments and carry with us a certain amount of ‘emergency equipment’ to compensate for such inefficiency and dishonesty. Thus we managed. What we cannot understand is how such a situation can arise in an establishment managed by a lady. Is she not familiar with kitchens, or has she never actually bothered to inspect intelligently one of the 15 year old apartments? The ‘grab handle’ by the bath fell off the wall when we touched it. I showed this to a staff member on the Tuesday, but nothing had been done about it by the Saturday when we left. Incidentally the right hand window will not open. Additionally the room temperature regulator does not work. We wanted 21°C, but the temperature went up to 23°C. I turned it down to 16°C, but the room continued to heat to 25°C, so we then had to turn the heating on and off periodically and open the window when it was too warm. ? Ecologically sensitive? Who are you kidding? We didn’t report these to matters at the time since the maintenance department and management seemed to be so incompetent, so we planned to put it in writing to you so that you cannot claim that you did not know. Lovely building, pity the administration is so incompetent. Finally, your ‘quote’ on the Booking.com web site ‘in the kitchen there was everything......’ is obviously fictitious. Shame on you.

« A relaxing weekend »

The dinner and the breakfast were geat, also the bedroom was nice and very clean. The spa was small and crowded! We had a problem with the key and nobody was there to help us.

« Not respecting the Accor promise »

Being Platinum member, certain benefits are supposed to be provided. The hotel knew about it but tried not to give them. They tried to cash 20eur from me for a requested 3 hours later check-out, did not give a drink voucher etc

« Acceptable but without happiness »

Breakfast quite poor and low level of service. 8am always a lot of tables not cleaned. No bar or any service with drinks and snacks till 8pm. Restaurant acceptable but not great amount of choices. Anyway, mostly I used restaurant on opposite side of road as they served beer and snacks before 8pm. To low value for price.

« A restful 2 days »

Spent 2 days in this hotel, to use the pool and hot tub area. Was upgraded to a top floor ( 7 ) apartment. Hotel was quiet, and had friendly staff. No real problems. Was charged ( and then refunded ) for the pool access. Check website / hotel before booking or be prepared to pay 5€ per room per stay. Internet not that good, but worked. Breakfast good.
