« Nice hotel but check in staff have to be trained or be guided closely »

Check in was nice but takes some time. I had shown the check in staff my Expedia check in list. And i would like to upgrade my room with lake view. So they would like me to add another RM40. Which i am ok with it. Once its all done and i have been in my room. Suddenly there is a knock on my door and ask for my credit card number and expiry date. Without mentioning what it is for. When i asked, she just mention that just now she had forgotten to take it. Which i am in doubt. After around 15min to 30min a call to my room to ask for credit card number again. Which i asked again why, they said they had forgotten to take it. Which makes me feels weird. After that my phone got an sms from my credit card bank and mention i was charged RM172.64. The next day when i checked out, i asked the staff what am i charged for? She could not tell me the details but she promised to check for me with the finance department. When i am about to exit the building, she called me and told me that i was wrongly charged and the amount had been voided. I had kept all the receipt and sms from bank just in case my bank charge me for that. It should not be happened in the first place. Other than that everything is still good for me.

Generally, the hotel was good but I believe the team could do more better to improve the service. My expectation for an international hotel like Novotel is definately high. Some issue to be shared; 1. One of the lighting in the room was not functioning upon checked in. Technician did repair but it was tripped & blackout for about 10 mnt. Further more, the lighting in the room is too deemed. 2. Treadmils at the gym was very dirty (dry stains). Based on the record, I am the 1st person who use the facility that day. 3. Car park at level 6 is at an isolated place and accessible to outsider. At least a security guard to be stationed at the lift lobby that facing to car park. The car park lif is the only access for those who drive to your hotel.

« Great hotel with an awesome view »

The room was complete as a hotel room should; plenty of towels; tolietries, iron kettle, ect. The room service menu also looks good. Hotel linked to mall, very convenient. Best point is, whichever room u get, u get a high view of the city with mountains at the side, or better, direct view of mountains. Swimming pool gives a non interrupted view of nature; sky and mountains, which you can never get back in Singapore...

All the hotel facilities are new and the entire room are spacious. Hotel did provide a prayer room in level 6 with prayer mat. You may consider to add up several menus for the breakfast buffet.. Half boiled egg was superb and tasty.. However your scramble egg taste sour and tasteless. Keep it up.

« Superb location surrounded by good food »

The hotel was impeccable in terms of location and the accessibility to everything! Most of the famous eateries were walking distance to the hotel (think 3 to 5 mins). As to Accor hotel standards, clean and comfortable bed/pillows. The lake gardens and zoo were just a 5 mins drive away! They were also offering a RM10nett cakes + coffee deal in which we discovered the best peanut butter cake ever (although the coffee was mediocre). We were happy to be given rooms facing the lake garden! The only downside to it were the directions in the carpark, no clear signs on how to get up and we ended up circling each floor before finding the right ramps! (Reviewed in Tripadvisor)

« New, clean and located in center city »

Really nice to have a newer hotel in Taiping. I’m please with the room design and easy access to local stuff. Inconvenient is the parking, need to park in level 6 and each time need to go back to lobby to get validate for hotel and then go back again to level 6. I have book 2 rooms and i did ask for extra toothbrushes 3 sets, I got a response immediately is NO because each room limit to 2. I try to explain to her that I have 2 rooms and she gave it t me afte explains. This is the first time I have hear there is restrictions for toothbrush. Internet is too SLOW and I have to use my phone as a hotspot. Please upgrade to at least minimum 6-8 Mps. I measure is not even 1 Mbps. Hope the improvements can be implement soon

Hotel is very nice building, rooms facilities, furnishings. Staff are pretty hopeless and why the hell do you think apple and melon is TROPICAL fruit. I had to make a big fuss to get some local fruit.
