In London with my 9 year old for a few days and had a nice stay at the Victory House. Service was impeccable throughout. The room was clean and comfortable with a good bathroom. The bar/eating arrangements at the hotel were a bit unclear but given location in London was not an issue.

« Shiny but limited substance »

What I really liked: - Great location. - Very nice and competent staff (particularly including breakfast team!). - Amazing breakfast quality. - Calm room environment, even thoug facing the Leicester Square. On the downside: - No desk or chair in the room. - No space in the bath room to even place a toiletries bag. - Windows cannot be opened. - AC was broken (blinking with error code) and could not be fixed during my multi-day stay. Particularly unfortunately in combination with the previous issue. - No rooms with bath tub. - Slow maintenance - hand rail bar in the elevator was loose, a simple screw driver and 30 seconds of work would have fixed it. Still 4 days after reporting no improvement. Not a big deal but symptomatic.

Hotel location was perfect for my needs. Rate also good, but unfortunately my rest was disturbed by both street noise, and someone knocking at my door at 5:00 am. I am always surprised when at checking out one doesn’t ask “how was your stay?”.

« While the location is optimal, the service and amenities are appalling for a hotel with nightly rates so high. »

Unfortunately, from the start of my stay the service was terrible. The women who checked me in were curt, did not provide very much information about the hotel, and were down right rude. When I asked if I could extend my stay by two nights as my plans had changed, instead of being accommodating, it seemed as if it was a burden to them to make the arrangement. It's important to note that there were rooms available, they simply were too lazy to want to help me in extending my stay. They eventually did extend it. I was not provided with any hair conditioner in my room or a face cloth, both things are shown in pictures on your website as being included in the room. When I went downstairs to get these, I was handed hair conditioner and told a face cloth would be brought up. Again, the front desk ladies were as rude as possible. I did not receive a face cloth that day. It wasn't until I went down the next day and was more forceful that I was told both hair conditioner and face cloths are not provided, typically. I've traveled all over the world. I've stayed in hostiles and 5 star resorts, and I will say, I have never not been provided basic amenities. In addition, your website says, and I'm quoting directly, "In room dining available for guests between 7am and 11pm offering all day snack menu." When I went downstairs to ask why I had not been provided a menu in my room, I was told in room dining did not exist, only drinks. I didn't have a drink menu, either. I honestly don't know if room service is apart of this hotel's experience, but I know that the front desk was not going to be much help in the matter. I don't believe the cleaning staff changed my sheets daily, as my bed simply seemed made up, rather than changed. I did appreciate that my room was always cleaned by the time I returned. I stay in London every couple of months and I can say, I will not be returning to this hotel any time soon. There are far too many hotels with better service for the same price in the area. It was a very disappointing stay and I would recommend reviewing your staff as they are some of the most incompetent and rudest people I've encountered at a hotel.

« MY FIFTH STAY IN VICTORY HOUSE »

Victory House is now my regular London hotel for leisure visits. This is because it's good value, and its location is really excellent. However it does have some shortcomings, for example limited opening hours for food service, and slightly amateurish bar service. However the staff are generally helpful. Some people might find the Leicester Square location a bit noisy, so it may help to request a quiet room, if available. For me the location outweighs the disadvantages of Victory House.

Nice rooms and excellent shower. Delicious breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location: on Leicester Square, so theatres and cinema Odeon Luxe nearby. Tube station, China Town, Trafalgar Square with National Gallery Museum, Regent Street, Covent Garden all at walking distance.

I always use the Accor Hotels Group as and when possible. Their staff are simply at a different level to most other hotels and always go above and beyond. I would never consider staying with another hotel group unless i have no choice.

This property treats Platinum members well. We got upgraded to Suite 501 which was a very nice treat. Also late check out for Platinum was exceeding expectations.This propertys location is excellent with Chinatown to the back and Leicester Square at front. Still most rooms are very quiet.Rooms are well maintained and very clean. Staff at this property are very easy to respond to any request and were available and fantastic throughout the stay. Incredible was that staff helped us carry all our shopping success to the taxi stand at departure!This was my second stay at this property and wihin one year processes etc. have significantly approved (They were already good but this time it was really excellent)We will definitely return

The hotel is situated on the heart of theatreland and is good value. The rooms are not very big compared to other hotels but the shower and accessories were great. The staff were very helpful as well. The only downside is it could be a bit noisy at night with the crowds in Leicester Square and the breakfast was quite expensive.

Received an email from Accor on this new premium hotel so booked it, fist impression, no lounge area, room had no hanging space fro clothes, expected to hang them on top of cups and ketttle. Windows dont open and heating was difficult to control, room like an oven but bathroom freezing. Icy blast for breakfast every time main door was opened. Only cold plates, no hot plates for hot buffet, limited hot breakfast 4 items, bacon, egg, sausage and beans, unless your French then brought out a range of menu, poached eggs, avacaodo, omelettes, which was not offered to us, no menu to select from. No brown sauce, no toast, English breakfast tea awful, french coffee stand your spoon in it, not Americano as offered and requested. Only one lift working, waited 20 mins to find staff and workmen held it open, complaints on deaf ears, just a massive disappointment - NOT as sugggested Accor premium London Hotel, and NOT on Leicester Square, entrance is a side road Leicester Place, just lie about everything, disgraceful.

Just because its labled as an M Gallery doesnt mean it is. Simply put if you want a nice place to sleep then its ok. However if like me your an m gallery customer it falls far from expectations. The biggest asset in this hotel is the staff. The bed comfy however it doesnt warrent the price tag. Examples. Breakfast plenty of continental options and 4 items that r cooked. The rooms imconsistent i stayed in a number of different types over the time here. One roomm had a welcome pack but no room service menu. Other rooms had no welcome pack and no room service menu. No face cloths in any rooms? These things r expected in any m gallery. Quality of room well furnished but the walls are showing damage foot marks coffee stains bad paint work. Hall ways they r lit to create an atmosphere however after spending time in room the hall ways are very dark. 2 lifts 1 working i looked on trip advisor according to reviews its been like this since september. Website says turn down service and welcome drink as gold member not offered. Website says bistro is open for lunch and dinner but in room tv says otherwise. All these things to me point at it being a hotel disguised as a m gallery

« Another poor experience »

At check in. No acknowledgment that I was a gold card customer. No welcome drink, no mention of upgrade, nothing. TV remote not working. I reported it, no one fixed it. Noisy whine from electrical cupboard outside my room, nothing done about it and in morning the girl on checkout didn’t seem to have a clue as to how to send my bill electronically. This is the worst Sofitel property I have stayed in. The location is good the bed is comfortable hence a 3 out of 10. The service is embarrassing

I stayed in room 204 which was a little noisy (but it is Leicester Square I know) but modern and clean. The staff were very welcoming if not a little busy. The room card slot was not the easiest to find when I opened the door but otherwise my stay was very good.

Not really sure as to whether there is any point in leaving a review as having read posts left by previous guests it looks as if I’ll just a standard reply from the hotel and things will remain as they are. Pros: Centrally located. Although rooms are small, they are nicely appointed & reasonably for a short stay such as ours (2 nights) - for longer stays I suspect they would feel pretty cramped. Reception staff on evening shift extremely helpful and tried to assist clients in any way they could. Cons: Noise. Even on a side street, as you then get the ‘benefit’ of hotel’s extractor system out back. Lifts. Still having problems. On both dates we stayed only one was working and one morning both lifts were out of action for sometime, so all guests were left with the only option of the stairs whether they had luggage or not. If assistance was needed, none was forthcoming from hotel staff. Petit Bistro: Closed. This seems to be another recurring theme. Hotel was advertised as having a restaurant, but on arrival we found it was closed. Reason given was that they ‘were changing the menu’. Reception offered to book us at their ‘sister’ Indigo Hotel for dinner - since when has Indigo Hotels been part of Accor ? To my knowledge they are part of IHG which is a complety different hotel group altogether. Worse still, you cannot compare the type of food offered on the menu of Indigo Hotel with that of the standard expected of a MGallery or Sofitel. Bar: drinks on offer pretty limited and waiter never there and when he was service was rude & indifferent. Breakfast: too small an area for number of guests in hotel and staff, although they teied to help, were completely overwhelmed. All in all not a very pleasant stay and an expensive mistake. Hotel is not worthy of MGallery or Sofitel name. Standards fall short of what is expected for an Ibis, but not charged accordingly
