Great spot and central to walk to most central London locations. Small cute bar and the room was really nicely furnished and actually quite large for central London. The bathroom looked brand new with a nice large shower (no bath)

« A lot lacking »

The location of this hotel is ideal if you want to visit Central London, be close to all the action and links to other parts of London. The hotel itself however needs to either be star downgraded and rebranded or Accor need to invest and step things up massively. Their pricing for this hotel also needs to reflect this. As Accor members we got a 3 nights for 2 deal but even at the price we paid I think the price was too high for the level of service that is actually available. The rooms feel functional rather than luxurious . I spent 2 nights in a Deluxe Room which had plenty of space and was on the quiet side of the hotel away from the night club and alley at the entrance side. I had to request the advertised slippers and there was no shower cap in the bathroom, on the second day the biscuits weren't replenished and the only view is of fire escapes and a wall but that wasn't a problem for me. Unfortunately on the second morning the door handle came off completely in my hand. The staff were as helpful as they could be and I was finally upgraded to a suite which overlooked Leicester Square but other than a posh coffee machine and a few other bits I couldn’t see any benefits so think carefully before you splash out. There is a total lack of relevant information in the rooms or even in reception. The information books in the rooms promise 24 hour room service but there isn’t any - we couldn't even get a glass of wine on our return to the hotel at 11pm on the first evening. The bistro did not appear to be open other than for breakfast although over the weekend they did serve drinks outside during the day. On the one occasion we had a drink the waitress waited until we had finished came out asked if she could take our glasses and promptly walked off - no "would you like another drink" going on here. Needless to say we ate and drank elsewhere. The staff were very varied one or two were friendly and helpful, others disinterested and a couple surly almost to the point of rudeness - particularly in reception. I was also woken by housekeeping at 9.15am on Sunday morning who wanted to service the room even though I was still in bed?? For any future visits to London despite being an Accor member I will look for other hotels in the area that offer the services they advertise and some levels of service rather than go back to the Victory House.

« Our one night stay went well though service at breakfast was only average. »

It was good: staff were helpful (we actually asked to change rooms as the first had a slight problem and this was done quickly and efficiently.) We also needed help with our luggage at check out and left it there for an hour after 12.00. The assistance was exceptionally good. Rooms are small and expensive BUT the position of the hotel makes this inevitable. Also shower caps and face cloths should be provided in a hotel of this standard .

« Good once we moved rooms »

We had 2 x rooms one was located over a night club that whet to 5am. When we complained the front desk said oh you should have requested not to be in that room. Well when coming from AUSTRALIA. YOU DO NOT ADVERTISE SOME ROOMS ARE OVER A NIGHTCLUB. maybe you front desk need some customers service training.

Ordered the room with view over Leicester Place. Only got a small view of a side-street. Aircondition too cold and unable to adjust even if trying to. Otherwise, excellent! 6/10 due to the above + the price.

Hotel cannot be faulted for location, its right in the centre of town and yet it is not too noisy, the only point I would make is that the mini bar only has water in it, it would be nice to have more choice.

« Really Disappointing »

Room was OK, but the service was utterly abject. There were no bar staff, you literally could not get a glass of wine! The guy on reception (who I practically begged to get me a drink) would not pour a drink he sent for someone to come from Hotel Indigo to serve me a drink. She then asked me that if I wanted a drink when I came back to the hotel later, to tell her at what time and she would head back to pour me a drink.. unbelievable, yet true. I am an Accor hotel Gold Card member and this experience was shocking. In all my years of staying in hotels around the world, this was the most bizarre experience of my life

« A pleasant hotel which did not have the features promised »

We booked a deluxe suite as we intended to spend part of our 4 day visit sitting in our room. It claimed to be 30 Sqm. The room itself was a tiny 15sqm, the shower room a spacious 7sqm and the long L shaped corridor was 8sqm and purely for access. We had 2 upright chairs and a tiny 40cm table. The wall tv faced the bed not the chairs (Not a suite in my view). Our booking confirmation stated free newspapers now discontinued, turndown service now discontinued, mini fridge with soft drinks and snacks now only water. Also a restaurant now closed. We were promised handy phones but they had been withdrawn. The reception area was tiny and uninspiring. The hotel was clean and comfortable but not what we wanted or as it was described.

Hotel centrally located and very near Underground. My room was adequate in size, but could hear noise from Leicester Square quite clearly, especially on weekends. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Bed very comfortable.

« Terrible check-out experience »

Location, quality of the room, cleanliness - no complaints. A nightmare however was the checkout: there is no way this can take more than 20 minutes, at 5 in the morning when I had to catch the Eurostar. Staff (2 guys!) was totally uncoordinated, slow, unfriendly and incompetent. Mind you, I was the only guest there and still it took them 20 minutes to do a simple checkout with no extras.
