Awesome location, great accessibility into town. nice and spacious room. excellent breatfast (though the staff told us it was included, which was a mistake, so we had to pay extra at check-out).

Our stay at La Citadelle was very disapointing for this level and price of hotel. The suite did not have a separate bedroom, there is no air conditionning, the bed for my daughter, although clearly spelled out in the reservation was not ready upon our arrival. There was no help for the luggages. The only positive thing was the breakfast,

We noticed that the shower head in our bathroom (room 218) needed decalcifying as not enough water came and it would splash every where.

We only stayed one night while passing through but we enjoyed it so much we’ll be back for a longer stay. Attention to detail was just right, from helping with our luggage as we arrived to checking out. The hotel is beautifully presented, the staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are a good size and the bed was exceptionally comfy. It’s been the best hotel so far on our three week tour of Europe.

As I was driving and hesitating where to stop for a night sleep, I called first a nice hotel in Luxembourg and asked for a room. The man on the reception was unpleasant, snooty and arrogant. I was timed to arrive at 2:00 am. Next, I called la Citadelle, had Sébastien on the line. What a contrast! Friendly, helpful, inviting. I enjoyed my first ever stay in Metz and in your hotel and intend to be back for sure. Next time, I will plan it so that I can enjoy your restaurant as well. I even had the time in the morning for a short stroll in the old city. Definitely a good place. Thank you.

The bed of the superior room where we where upgraded soit totaly smooth and unconfortable at all, the screen of the TV was like my laptop one and the bathrobe were missing ... What an upgrade. In addition to that no information from the receptionnist regarding the parking rate.

A hotel that I assume used to be luxury, a long time ago

This is definitely a hotel for the older generation. You can tell the hotel was luxury and very stylish 20 years ago, but it's in need of a refurb. The whole stay was far too overpriced considering what you get. There were no facilities to speak of, the breakfast was in a windowless corner where I had the pleasure of begging a disinterested member of staff for a coffee after having been sat down for 15 minutes. We stayed here before and the parking was free. This time we were charged ~20 euros. Like many chains this is just one of those hotels that's opting for the "ryanair" experience- you think everything is included, but there are hidden extras that just leave you feeling cheated and stressed. Why bother?

A really enjoyable stay in a sympathetically converted historic building. The location of the hotel and its proximity to the river and city make it an ideal spot for a city break. The staff were polite, attentive and very helpful. The superior room very pleasant, well equiped and comfortable. The air conditioning in the room was inadequate to cool the room as the temperature reached 24 degrees. The en suite was not a wet room ensuite and as it lacked a shower screen the laminate panels had water damage. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful with great choice. The food in the brasserie was well priced and very tasty. Food service was good. On the Saturday evening of our stay, there was a wedding function which created a lot of noise, late into the night, at the front of the hotel. Lots of shouting and revving of car engines. This was made worse because we had to have the windows open due to the temperature. We should have rung down to reception to complain but has expected reception to deal with the noise. Despite the issues raised we did have a lovely time at La Citadelle and would have scored the hotel higher in the overall experience category but for those issues.

Impressing hotel in the old Citadel. The room: Very nice room, but to dark (lack of lamps made it diificult to read outside the bed). We also had a problem with small flies coming from the bathroom. Eating: Fantastic food in the Brasserie! Breakfast: Average. And we were first asked if we wanted coffee or tea, when we were ready to leave. Service was not in sync with the price.

Our brief stay was excellent. However, again as I have commented in other responses to accorhotels, because I have since been travelling elsewhere, it is not convenient for me to provide a review until I return home. I therefore find it annoying that you send a 'reminder' only 5 days after your initial request. If you wish me to provide a well-thought-out review, do NOT expect that I will compose it on my smartphone which is the only device I carry when travelling.

Located facing a park next to the 'Governor's Residence' and the Arsenal cultural centre, it was only a short walk to the commercial centre of Metz and then on down to the river and islands. Our room was huge, almost a suite, with separate bathroom, toilet and entrance hall. Although overlooking a through road, the traffic was minimal and the only noise we vaguely noticed was the (usual in most cities !) noise of the garbage collection (too !) early in the morning. For dinner we ate an enjoyable meal in the restaurant paired to a great local red wine sugggested by the sommelier. The restaurant personnel were very friendly and attentive and the chef was kind enough to bid us farewell.

I enjoyed a very spacious and comfortable room overlooking the park for 3 nights. The bathroom was well-appointed with a walk-in shower (some rooms do not have walk-in showers). Service was very courteous and attentive. The hotel is near everything you want to see in Metz and I would stay again.

Hotel is nice. TV set in room 212 was not working properly. Had to request repairs 3 times on three separate days before the unit was replaced. Breakfast was excellent. Good choice of breakfast items.
