« Hotel level service getting dramatically lower »

This is was my 5th stay at Lagare and third with my wife so we have sufficient background to compare. Thanks to my Le Club Accorhotels Platinum status upon arrival we were upgraded to junior suite 219. Also reception staff were quite kind to help my wife with telephone calls to Bottega Veneta shop. I have to say that the list of pros is now over. Cons: during our 4 nights stay in the hotel there were 3 housekeepings in our room and all 3 of them were with issues: 2 times bottles with water, Nespresso capsules with additional coffee stuff were not replaced and one time - we were provided with only one set of bath towels what was discovered in most unpleasnt point of time - when I was taking shower. Afterwards each time we had to go reception and complain to get these issues fixed. But the most remarkable issue happened on July 10 when in the middle of the day I got sms from the bank that my credit card used for guarantee in the hotel was debited for EUR61. Upon return I immediately asked the reception for clarifications, first they did not discover anything, then after 20 minutes investigation they found out that my card was debited for expenses of so-called mister Kolovat who was checking out the same day. The underlying reason for that was that my credit card was assigned to another person room what never happened in my past experience and represents, in my opinion, breach of security policy and possible leak of my personal details. The reception staff promised to return amount to my card within several days - today I do not have confirmation yet that the amount credited back to my card account. There were more some minor issues like too hot and humid atmosphere in the spa area, no removal of dirty plates from the table during breakfasts and so on, but in the comparison with the housekeeping and credit card issues they were not significant. To sum up, for 1-2 years the level of customer service in Lagare dropped dramatically. Management should significantly raise oversight controls over processes of keeping to high standard of service in all areas. If bad things like described above happened, then Platinum status Accor guests staying constantly in Lagare who suffered from hotel mistakes should have got not only formal

« Perfect hotel for a quick trip »

The location of the hotel is unbeatable; although there are not many restaurants or shops nearby, everything is in walking distance, including underground stations. The staff went out of their way to help me in every request I had, they were incredibly polite and professional. Both the check-in and check-out were quick and efficient and I received special treatment due to my Accorhotels membership, which I appreciated. The hotel boasts a nice café and a restaurant that serves a delicious breakfast. The rooms are tidy and well-equipped, but bear in mind that due to the fixed windows, the A/C has to be on all the time, which could make the room uncomfortably cold after some time, and the fact that one has to call the reception to adjust the temperature is somewhat odd. The spa section is worth every penny, it is hardly ever crowded, and it includes the use of bathrobes and slippers, as well as drinks you can have in the relaxation area. All in all, this is a marvelous hotel that caters more to businessmen but it is also ideal for a weekend trip of shopping or sightseeing.

« Elegant hotel close but remote from the train station »

The hotel benefits from modern design, nice rooms, modern shower rooms, a good fitness. Very convenient business hotel near the train station without being too close as the station is not the nicest area of Milan. Only drawback os noisy air con and the inability to open windows.

« Many things are 'not quite right' »

The first impression is that you are unsure if you are in the correct place. I walked from the train station and when I arrived, I actually walked around the entire hotel because it is not obvious where the entrance is. The entrance is not at all welcoming, and having stairs to go up with luggage and no assistance is unacceptable. The other issue is the spa. In the description in the room, it should be clear that you have to go to the front desk so they can charge you for the spa and activate your key. There were at least five different guests that did the same thing that I did. We went down, tried to open with our key, but didn't know what to do. I would suggest that you update the language in the book in the room and also have a clear sign at the entrance to the spa that you need to to to reception for access. Additionally, after I paid to access the spa, my key access didn't work, and I had to go back to reactivate my key. And the sauna wasn't working. It was a little bit warm, not within the temperature range posted.

We stayed in a king room. It was really large. Clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel. Close to great shopping. And Milan Centrale stazione. As silver members we received a discounted breakfast and welcome drinks. Asked for a Spritz and received nibbles complimentary.

Elegant place to stay in Milan for a couple days. Roof deck offers great views and is a great to watch the sunset over the skyline. Room was well curated and clean, and the staff was very supportive and helpful.

Our experience overall was very good. Warm welcome on the front desk, and very warm hostess at the breakfast room! Only negative part is the TV control that is not easy to operate at all, the elevator that takes too long!!!! , and the breakfast buffet new settlement. It was much better before....

I stay at this hotel at least twice a year. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Location is great by central station and a 20 min walk to the main shopping area of milan Rooms are well appointed and comfortable.

Very nice room and good amenities. I stay 3 4 star hotel in milan this is the 1st hotel that provided personal hygiene cleaner kit. And staff is friendly. Only thing thing need to feed back is staircase to lobby is unfriendly I need to carry my luggage up to the staircase.
