« Nice stay near Milan central »

My wife and I were given a lovely modern room in this stylish hotel. The breakfast was of a high standard and with top quality products...I judge a hotel by its breakfast and La Gare did not disappoint. Bed was firm but comfortable and we were treated efficiently by the staff. Close to Milan Central, and a nice long stroll to the busy centre of the city.

« lovely modern hotel in an extremely convenient location »

we were in Milan for only one day. thanks to the hotel it was a perfect day :) nice rooftop bar, absolutely excellent cappucino at the lobby, great recommendation of Il Tavolino restaurant by the staff.... comfortable and spacious room and bathroom with powerful hair dryer. What more could one want?

« Good location but lacking certain elements to make it feel like a 4 star hotel »

Hotel location was good and the rooms were nice although a bit small. No irons are on site as they are apparently not allowed. This is not stated on the hotel website or policies prior to booking so you are forced to use their very expensive ironing service. All other hotels I have stayed in provided an iron in Italy. Manager said don't expect luxury as it is 4star and not a 5 star hotel which I found to be quite rude. Breakfast is average and music plays very loud in the rooftop bar. I personally wouldn't stay again and surprised Sofitel has this hotel in their chain.

The reception staff was not friendly and not very helpful. I asked multiple questions to which I received one word answers with no eye contact. I can understand they were busy but maybe a way to deal with it is to tell me to wait a few seconds and then deal with my questions once they are done with whatever they were busy with. The room was not prepared for 2 persons even though I had booked for 2. The spa/sauna center which is in the hotel is actually not free of charge, even for a Platinum guest like myself. I booked this hotel for the Spa/Sauna/Pool and we didn't get to use any of them - the pool is a splash pool rather than one where you can swim. Additionally, the roof-top bar was also managed by some other company and the reception asked me to go to the website of this company to reserve a place for a drink on the roof-top! They didn't even offer me to call and check availability for me. The welcome drink doesn't work in the roof-top bar but only at the lobby and has to be non-alcoholic, which again is not the norm in my previous stays at Accor hotels. Overall a very disappointing stay and I will not be going back.

The hotel is lovely. I stayed in a deluxe room and it was very big, clean and comfortable. Slightly annoyed that you cannot set the aircon temperature higher than 20C, but everything otherwise worked amazingly. Also tried the spa/pool, which was lovely.

Overall hotel was nice and rooms were great. Two issues I had included that there is no iron or ironing board available in the hotel . Guests are expected to use ironing service that is not 24 hours . When I enquired at 2200 for an iron I was told the ironing service would be available at 8am - not a good look walking around Milan , a fashionable city with a creased shirt !! Also one of the reasons I booked the hotel was the rooftop bar to find when we went that all tables are reserved for private functions. When I enquired at front desk how to book a table I was told it's run by another group and you need to speak to them - it's advertised as a hotel bar but was unable to enjoy it On both occasions front desk staff were unhelpful - really disappointing

« Quick stay in Milan »

Nice for a short stay. Happy with room upgrade and reception staff. Breakfast was great! A few improvements? Why are irons not permitted in the rooms? The drycleaning prices were too expensive to consider this as an alternative. The room needed a good sweep as it was quite dusty. Breakfast is overstaffed but none of the staff seem too interested in assisting? Had to ask each morning for espresso, it was never offered...

I received no recognition of my Accor gold status, in fact the room I was given was the total opposite of my preferences, no other benefit offered such as free drink. It's a a shame the spa has limited hours as it's great, rooftop bar very nice. Breakfast was weak very basic the hot food looked disgusting

IT was a good experience, as I intentionally chose a hotel in which there were no complaints on the air conditioning as it was summer. I was a little let down by the reception which did not pick up my clothes for laundry after my call on one occasion. Also the management should consider replenishing the mineral water in the room daily as a courtesy to guests. Finally the lifts need to be upgraded as they are very slow. A lot of time was spent waiting to get up to my room on the 11th floor. Overall I was satisfied with my stay, as the room was clean and well equipped. Internet worked well and it was comfortable. Please refer to the email here below, that I sent to Mr Sandri after my stay in LaGare Hotel: Dear Mr Sandri, Following my recent stay in LaGare Hotel MGallery on 20th Jul, I would like to give you my feedback. I do travel 200 days a year and so, I spend a lot of times in various hotels. I am Platinum with Marriott, Diamond with Hilton and ...Platinum member with Club Accor (nr 3081034031017200). I really enjoy the Club Accor. I was in Novotel Suites Geneva a few days ago, I am for the right moment in Novotel Wembley and I will follow with the MGallery les Echiquiers Paris on 26th July. Nevertheless, during my last stay in your hotel, I need to inform you about the extremely poor behaviour of one of the reception members, Mr Luca. Indeed, during our arrival and checkin, Mr Luca showed a complete lack of motivation, to the limit of unpoliteness: - he had no recognition of my Platinum status (didn't bother to look) even if I booked the 3 rooms via my profile on the Club Accor website; - he couldn't find the platinum membership of my colleague (even if 2 days before we were in Novotel Suites Geneva and they had no problem to find it with her card); - he gave NO information at all about the hotel ... I had to ask myself how to operate for the internet ... and when I secondly asked about the breakfast, he sighed (!!) before answering!!! -Also we were informed about the complimentary access to the Spa via the next shift at reception (2 very nice young ladies); - he couldn't be bothered to give the complimentary welcome voucher (except to the last colleague checking in, Mr Giorgetta); - most of all, he was extremely pretentious and totally unpleasant; - When he was challenged about his mood, he replied to us he was tired. Nevertheless when we saw him the morning after ... he had basically the same behaviour (no hello, no goodbye ... but his colleague well)! Was he still tired then?!?! I would also like to inform you that I will file a negative survey on the Accor website. I very very rarely do that because I am always very happy about the excellent services of Accor hotels but this attitude is for me just unacceptable for someone working at the reception. If Mr Luca is too good for this job, he definitely needs to find a new one ( with no contacts with customers) but I don't book a hotel and certainly not a MGallery for anyone to be condescending. I can understand that what I am saying can be very intense and you can definitely crosscheck those information with my 2 colleagues, Mrs Shirley O'Meara and Mr Remi Giorgetta, checking in with me the same day, both Platinum members and equally shoked by this behaviour. I would like also to say that the colleague of Mr Luca ( who did my checkout) and the two women from the next shift on 20th Jul were extremely nice and very helpful. They deserve to be thanked for that as the behaviour of Mr Luca initially completely ruined our appreciation of the hotel, which, by the way, is very nice and well situated. Rooms are fine, most of the staff very nice and helpful. Pretty good location. One little exception was the male check in agend. He only reluctantly greeted me, did not explain anything until I specifically asked. He did not give me the drink voucher and couldn't tell me what kind of room I would be staying in, giving somewhat rude answers instead. Maybe it was the language barrier but all in all he seemed pretty clueless.

We organized a business event at your hotel. Both my colleagues, our clients and the attendee to the event stayed at the hotel. We used your meeting rooms and facilities. Everything was perfect, from the rooms, to the excellent organization of the meeting rooms. To the help of your amazing staff. The event manager (I believe her name is Laura) was superb. Everything was smooth and easy. We will definitely consider this hotel for future meetings and events.

« Wonderful stay at modern luxury hotel, walking distance to much Milan has to offer. »

We stayed for three days after a week long bicycling trip in France. We arrived by train so the hotel was very convenient. Each morning we enjoyed cups of espresso on our terrace watching the city wake up. Then it was out the door by foot or Metro to visit all the sites of Milan. The up and coming Isola area was very close. The room was very comfortable with separate sitting area. We were directly below the rooftop lounge and bar which was quite loud on Friday and Saturday night but the primary annoyance of the bar was the amount of cigarette ash on our terrace each morning. Also the bathroom set up was a bit odd but we overall greatly enjoyed our stay.

We had an excellent stay in this elegant hotel. Loved our room, the bars and the breakfast. It was only a shame that no preferential treatment is given to guests of the hotel for the rooftop terrace.
