I really enjoyed staying at Sofitel, when I came to Shenyang for my business trip. It had a wonderful time. It is definitely the best choice in my opinion. The breakfast is extremly delicious, the fitness room is 24 hours opened. Of couse, the most important thing is that the ladies and gentlemen working at the hotel, were extremly professional and enthusiastic. They were always ready to help me when I encounter problems or had some questions. Here, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the ladies & gentleman at the Club Lounge who made our check-in and check-out. The set-up for our event left a wow effect to our guests. The decoration was personalized and this was really impressive. Definitely a 5 stars hotel service and decoration. Be assured that I will definitely stay at the Sofitel LIDO Shenyang again for any of my business trips in the future! Congratulations to Mr. Martin for joining such a beautiful property with such a good team. Thank you to him for his support during the whole event. I enjoyed my stay at Sofitel very much. From the moment I entered the hotel, I was ushered in by a very professional bellboy. Another surprise was the room upgrade to VIP. Then at VIP, met up with Peter. Another great personality. And to wrap my whole experience, is the room and it’s Welcome fruit basket and chocolates. What more do I want? As if that is not enough, sleeping on the bed, I feel tiantang. When I eventually check out, again there was Peter to see upto the exit. Next time in Shenyang, this will be my new hotel instead of my usual Kempinksi.

The staff are very friendly and make you feel important. In particular, Nicole at the front desk, Lisa at the concierge station, and my housekeeper, Mrs. Han. I also want to mention the woman who delivers an ice bucket for me every night. She is always on time and delivers the ice with a smile. The overall experience was very pleasant.

This trip was a business trip, I looked forward to the stay one, because it was a Sofitel, and two because I had never stayed at this property before. Check in was ok, breakfast was good, then it went downhill from there. I asked at reception whether the Accor dining card was accepted, the reply afforded was a rude "NO". Odd, as I thought this card was valid for the Asia/Pacific region. My room was dated, the 24 hour power outlet did not work. After flying all night, sleep was in order, at least I thought so, but then the renovation work started so no sleep was possible. This I blame on my company for not having organised a different hotel. Coffee available in the room was decaffeinated only, however they did bring normal coffee after I complained. The areas down stairs past the lobby is slippery, having nearly fallen twice, probably due to all the renovation work. Likewise my room was dusty, evident on window sills. In general, the staff attitudes are poor, they treated me like an unwelcome guest with their pompous and condescending attitudes. In general, the question is would I recommend or return, the answer a resounding No.

1) Please do not "hide" the free item, especially the bottled water in the bathroom. A four-star or five-star hotel should not be like this. 2) You might also consider relocating the hair dryer to a place near the bathroom or at least add a sign in the bathroom. Please do not drag the guest in a treasure-hunting of all these small devices. 3) No smoking policy is not effectively carried out. In northeast China, it is difficult to convince people not to smoke. The hotel should divide the floors into two types (smoking and no-smoking) rather than blindly trust the guests to follow the rules. Currently, on a non-smoking floor (24/F), there is still a notice urging the guests not to smoke in the lifts (which suggests that the guests can smoke in their rooms or in the corridor). Actually, I did see a neighbour smoking in their room, opening the door and allowing the disgusting smell flooding the corridor.

« I am A loyalty Member Platinum - My Luxury room looked the same as a Standard room. »

The Internet was terrible and Unstable. After all the stay's and my Platinum member status I had to pay for my Dinner on 2nd floor(Due to 9 nights stay) Where is the loyalty treatment for being a loyal customer. The renovations and workings on the escalators where inconvenient at a time where there is high traffic (6pm in the evening) . The food taste has decreased and is not to the standard it has always been.
