It was good but not great. WE got the type of room we wanted and the staff saw some trouble arranging it. The minus is the bathroom design in room 500.

« Nice hotel but some changes are needed. »

Hello, Please don't offer shuttle service to/from airport if you are not willing to transport your customers. I asked about the shuttle service 1 day prior to departure and was told to take a taxi. The morning of my departure, I asked if there is a shuttle and was told that I need to schedule the shuttle ahead of time. During check-in, I overheard a customer ask about the shuttle service and she was told that it was booked. I paid 40 euros for Uber to take me to the airport. Thank you, James

« Totally disappointed by the attitude of the management. Is this really a five star? »

It is the third time I have stayed at this hotel and it will be the last time. On the previous two occasions the air conditioning in the room failed. This time I was given room 616 with the bedroom on the first floor and a tired mini lounge with a curtain on the window which is best described as a rag. I reported to the staff that the air conditioning was blowing hot air three times during the day and on each occasion, they told me that it was fixed. Eventually when I went to bed at 2330, the room was very hot and I had to "sleep" with the window wide open, and because of the traffic noise this proved impossible. I notified the staff and they found me a new room where in fact the air conditioning worked ! The management REFUSED to give me any compensation for this and offered a minor discount of less than €20! On a minor matter, the toilet seat in room 616 was broken. I am a Platinum Accor Cardholder and stay at many different hotels, from the Ibis Styles to Sofitel and this is the first time that this has happened and in the past where there have been minor problems , the management has acted fast to resolve any problems. On this occasion, the arrogance of the staff is incredible.

« good location, the hotel requires renovation »

the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. the room requires renovation, and was a bit noisy. we heard the noise from the road, even though we were on the third floor, and had the windows shut. the bathroom must have been great when it was new, but now it's breaking apart - the handheld shower head leaked a lot from the side (i thought it might fall apart). the shower jets at the back either didn't work, or were partially broken. i didn't plan on using them, but their state leaves a bad impression. we didn't like the "twin beds turn into a double bed" solution. the gap between the beds was clearly felt, and was quite unpleasant to sleep on - and if i can't sleep on it, i might as well use twin beds... the toiletries were very good (shampoo, conditioner, etc). the closet in the room was spacious. the night before the checkout we asked the person at the reception how much would a late checkout cost, and what's the latest hour we could check out. he said it'll cost about 50 Euros, and that at most it can be 18:00. the next morning we asked to have a late checkout, but were told the room was already booked for the next guests, so it can only be used until 15:00 (i accept that), but the price until 15:00 would be 60 Euros. I don't understand why we were told that a late checkout until 18:00 is 50 Euros, but until 15:00 is 60 Euros. throughout our stay, the staff was very pleasant.

« Unacceptable rubbish »

We stayed at La Griffe in 2016 and liked it very much so decided to stay again. The window of the room we were given this time (224) was looking out to a dead wall. There was only a glimpse of the sky high up. In my view rooms like this should be offered at a discount. This was unfortunately only a part of the problem. The space outside the window was full of litter- boxes with used bottles, a broken chandelier, some canisters half full with some liquid. This is completely unacceptable. The only reason I give it 3 is the excellent shower.

« Clean room and reasonable price with good location »

Location and room were very reasonable and more than my expectation. However service from staff, part of staff at front is not suffient. For example, I asked taxi to airport before i departure a day in advance. Staff explained that cost would be around 50Eur, but actually i had to pay 60Eur when i used service. I was in puzzle what kind of service hotel exactly had. I think there is choice and staff that arrange taxi on my departure day , just arrange taxi as his convenient. Thats why i rated on this hotel 8 excluded 2point.

It is a well located hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful The rooms are excellent but this is the second time I have stayed and the air conditioning is very poor if not non existent! The room was too hot and in the end I had to have the window open all night

It took me 4 days with plenty of emails and phone calls to finally get my invoice after the stay. The front desk team promised few deadlines for creating and sending the invoice via email, but none of them was met. Only when I tried escalating the problem to the hotel manager, they reacted.

« Could have been improved »

The location of the hotel was great and on arrival we were given an upgrade, which certainly improved the start of our holiday. The room was split over two floors and we really liked it, so far so good. However, from this point our experience deteriorated slightly. The keycard to the room failed to work on 4 occasions prompting me to have to go down to reception, where they offered relatively little help other than to say it could be working. On the final occasion I had to demand someone come up with me to make sure it would let us in. Our room wasn't cleaned once throughout the duration of our stay (3 nights). This was possibly due to a sleeping light on the door, which we couldn't turn off. I did however ask at reception when we were heading out for the cleaning staff to be sent up and was assured they would be. On returning to the room in the evening, we found that it had not been cleaned. Overall, for the money that we paid for the hotel I was extremely disappointed. Should we return to Rome, I would look for a hotel in the same location, but would not be returning to La Griffe.

« A bad stay »

As I stayed in this hotel for weeks I'm quite dissatisfied: 1. Many of hotel staff open my room door without knocking at the door. Even I didn't plate a DND, no hotel should do this!!! 2. The hotel skip house keeping a few times. When I came back at night, the room was still dirty. I didn't put DND plate on the door. Which is angry, even I told the house keeping ladies and the front desk staff to clean up my room before leaving and they promised, they still skip. 3. One of your house keeping ladies is very rude and impolite. Others are good. 4. Front desk offered me a wrong bill when I checkout. 5. They don't replace the bed linens when I leave the change linens green card on my bed. Good things: 1. The two doormen are very nice. 2. The location of this hotel is good. 3. Most of the front desk people can offer a warm service.

« Sorted issues out to exceed expectations »

Initially we had several problems but after raising them with the hotel they were resolved and exceeded expectations. The initial issues were: 1. Room 1 using the shower which was placed over a free standing bath the floor was flooded, shower unusable. 2. Rudeness of breakfast staff and lack of communication between reception and breakfast manager 3. Dangerous floor mat
