« Awesome stay in a beautiful central located hotel in Rome with very friendly and helpful staff »

We loved our stay at the La Griffe Roma ! The staff is very polite and helpful, doing everything to make your stay even more pleasureable. I felt very valued as Accor Gold member, with an upgrade to a beautiful 2-level Junior suite and late checkout. In our room we found a nice welcome letter of the hotel manager, with fruit and sweets and we enjoyed drinks and the good breakfast from the rooftop. The room we had was large, clean, nicely decorated and had perfect airconditioning and bedding so we slept very well after a day sightseeing in beautiful Roma. The hotel is within walking distance of Termini central station and key spots like Trevi fountain and Colosseum. Whenever I go back to Roma, this hotel would be my first choice !

« Total disappointment except for breakfast »

Our 3-night experience (31 July - 3rd August) started with concierge who did open the door as we were carrying heavy luggage. He was busy chatting with his colleague. Our check-in took 20 minutes (there was only one receptionist available during peak season). As we entered the room and checked the minibar, there was missing Twix and some opened chocolate sticks. Although we have highlighted this to the reception and housekeeping team, the minibar was in the same state till the end of our stay. No sugar, no spoons. One glass for 2 guests (again no attention to this until check-out). No complimentary water was provided. Toiletries were not changed even once during our stay. There was a huge puddle forming in the room when someone was taking a bath, due to gaps in the bathroom wall. Many stains on the walls. Shower cubicle is extremely small. The only good point was rooftop breakfast restaurant with great views and good food. In our e-mail to the hotel we have indicated that we had our 20th wedding anniversary during our stay. There was no reaction at all, which is not a big deal, but this kind of occasions is normally handled in a different way by most other hotels. Our room 515 had ugly construction site view - at least this point could have been taken care of.

Room was terrible- no sleep due to noise, from road but even more from water running in pipes. Drains I think from upper rooms. Horrible.

« Friendly »

We had a great stay, was upgraded due to our status at le club. The room was nice and clean. The view from the room however, was misserable. Friendly staff all over and we felt very welcome by all in the team. The reason we rate 7 and not 10 is : 1. The view from the room 2. Even though the bath tub was wonderful, we missed a real shower. 3. The bar prices. 4. Run out of shower gel 2 timesand had to ask for it 2 times during our stay.

« I expected a lot more. »

Check in was relatively quick and staff was very friendly. Our room was big and spacious but didn't seem to be cleaned very well. It was impossible to regulate the temperature of the shower, either scalding hot or ice cold. At night we went up to the rooftop bar and received the worst service I've seen at an Accor Hotel establishment, we were ignore, waited 25 minutes for drinks that never came so we got up and left. The front desk was apologetic and worked hard to make it up to us. Overall a decent hotel but not worth the price at all, I'm sure there are much better alternatives in the area. I wouldn't return.

« good location, private building »

The receptionist is not friendly. Answer few questions with no attention. We 'd stay in the room in the corner not well design space. They put old style bathtub in the middle of bathroom with half curtain close on both side. You can't shower without the water spill out on to the floor. It is very dangerous while step in and out. We request to change new room on the next day. We found very small shower room and very very old and bad mattress . We pay euro 1082.00 for our bad experience. They are not professional management..

« Was decent »

The bath was a little impractical and to use the shower would have made a mess because of the water pressure that came out of the handheld shower head

« Don't care about guests' experience »

Check-in was great, room was nice, but despite multiple requests to fix the shower water temperature control, we were ignored. On one of the hottest weeks of the year, our stay was ruined. Rooftop bar very nice but terrible service, had to ask 5 times for an ashtray, cigarette was finished by the time ashtray arrived.

« Beautiful hotel in the central part of Rome »

This hotel was very comfortable right in the central part of Rome ,close to the railway station and metro. Quiet rooms , cool, and very comfortable and spacious.. Great restaurant on the rooftop. Movie "Romantic holiday in Rome" was filmed there in 1953. .

« This hotel is not maintained properly »

This is probably one of the worst hotel have been staying. Air con can be regulated and therefore too noisy. Bathroom are in very bad condition and not clean. Beds are not comfortable.

« Disappointed »

Dear Mr Costella, When I booked for Rome I was deciding between La Griffe and the Sofitel . I looked at the reviews online and while there were many negative ones there were an equal amount of positive ones too. Although there shouldnt really be as many negative comments in a good hotel. I did notice that they were manly about the smaller rooms and I was looking at booking a junior suite anyway. The Sofitel was a bit further out of town so I booked La Griffe. I arrived at about 9.30pm and was checked in by a pleasant young lady however there was no mention of my Platinum Accor membership, no mention of the complimentary room upgrade when available and no welcome drink provided. I was just handed a room key (305) and verbally told how to connect to the internet. I had been traveling 24hours from Australia so I was tired and not really in the mood to bring any of this up at the time. The Junior suite was just average. The fact there is no where for your luggage up stairs is a problem. The bathroom and shower while small was OK however there were black marks in the tub that wouldn't come off. I was disappointed with the bed. It wasn't the MGallery by Sofitel standard of bed. It was hard and the pillows were uncomfortable. I couldn't find an in-room compendium so I had no information on the Hotel facilities. The first morning I went down stairs at about 5am and asked the Night staff at the front desk if there was anywhere I could get a decent coffee (not really a fan of Nescafe instant coffee which you had in your Junior suite - would have expected a Nespresso machine as standard in a suite). He looked at me as if I was stupid and just said "no! breakfast starts at 7am". Then looked down and started fiddling with something in the drawer hoping I would go away. The girls in the restaurant at breakfast are excellent. They were friendly and welcoming which is something i find very important when staying at a hotel. The breakfast food was pretty average though and the scrambled eggs were bad. Food I would expect to see at a 3 star or Ibis property to be honest (not that I've stay at an Ibis) I wanted to arrange a later check out time because my flight was 7pm and before I even picked up the phone I just had this feeling I knew how the conversation was going to go. I range reception and politely asked what would be the latest I could check out (Sunday July 9th). Immediately, without hesitation the male on the phone said 'check out is at 11am". As you know as a Platinum member we are offered last check out times when available. Your staff need to be trained to first look at the system to see who they are talking to rather than just answer with an automatic "no". If its not available then thats fine but to avoid looking incompetent and rude at least take the time to identify who the guest is.. I suggested to him that he check my profile in the system and then answer me again. He said he would have a look and then get back to me. I never heard back from him. On the Sunday morning I went down to reception and asked again and this time the gentleman on reception (no hair on his head) looked in the system and then offered me a 2 pm check out. I did however get a call at 11.30 am from someone (female) asking if I needed help vacating the room so I told them I had a late check out arranged. Regarding some feedback for room 305, the mirrored doors downstairs don't adequately block the the noise from the room next door. You do however have one absolute star of a staff member and that is Joseph K your doorman. He is friendly, helpful, welcoming and just an all round great person. My interactions with him took some of the edge of the negatives to do with my stay. You need to look after him as staff like that are rare and you have very few good ones I am afraid.

« Nice experience, hotel located in the very heart of the city of Rome »

It was a nice experience. There was just one downside of it. It is about the garage. I had written that I needed a garage space for our very expensive car. My message was never answered. When I arrived at the hotel, I realized that the garage was away from the hotel and was very tiny. It was also extremely expensive to leave the car at that garage. I believe that the website should give more explanation about this or at least, my message should have been answered well in advance so that I could book a room at another hotel!

« A fun little boutique hotel in Rome »

I was there with my wife and another couple for a three night stay. The staff were great and very flexible and friendly. We had a larger room (with a mezzanine floor). The room was well equipped and even though we were on a main road frontage it was surprisingly quiet. The style is a little eclectic but fun and there is a great little rooftop bar to be enjoyed on a sunny day. It is a modern fit out and there are lots of features to commend it. The location was outstanding - walkable from most major sights and a short cab ride to others. The main rail station is only 5 - 10 minutes walk away as well. All in all a most enjoyable sojourn in one of the world's great cities.
