The staff Giuseppe and Claudia were so wonderful, helpful and very knowlegeable. They make you feel at ease and very supportive during our stay. I cannot recommend any other hotel. La Griffe is the best.

I loved the location and the hotel, in spite of some irregularities My room faced a wall,it had a little terrace which had been sadly neglected, the plants just gasping to be watered. I asked it be cleaned which was done and used. House keeping service highly irregular, room not truly clean but satisfactory. Staff in restaurant most pleasant especially Monica, the hostess. Front desk varied depending on who was on duty, young men assisting with luggage excellent small and intimate, enjoyed the ambiance. Daily water should be included in charge and box breakfast one day was terrible. I would recommed and stay again

I know that there was a refund applied to the booking, but it would’ve been preferable to have been notified of this before the booking was made (I booked the day before, and there was a notice that the air con had broken several days before I made the booking).

Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. I notified the hotel prior to arrival that my husband was in a wheelchair. We were allocated a shoebox size room...that the wheelchair just got in the door...no room to go to bed. Aircon was ineffective. Next day we moved to a 3 person room...inconvenience as it altered our plans for the day. Room fitted the wheelchair....but aircon still ineffective. Slippery tiles in bathroom and split level from shower to toilet...not good for disabled. Location OK.

We found the Welcome and staff extremely friendly welcoming. We had a beautiful suite and it is well appointed and loved the Etro toiletries and sampled them. The restaurant with glorious views of Rome lovely but staff there not friendly and food disappointing. We had risotto with lemon we could hardly taste and instead of parmigiana mozzarella and cold. Salad not fresh.

Staff very helpful and accommodating. Due to issues with AC, room was hot, so i had the window open all night. Noise from street, due to open window, meant a restless sleep.

I don’t even know where to start. This hotel shattered my faith in the Sofitel and Accor brand. It is THE WORST five-star hotel I have ever stayed. The so-called king-size bed is amusingly put together by two small beds -never seen that before in a five-star hotel. The air-con doesnt work, the toilet flush doesn’t work, the housekeeping neglects the basic duty such as filling a roll of toilet paper. We need to ask for everything , simple thing such as a roll of toilet paper and often times when you call the reception- of course no one picks up! Check at the reviews on TripAdvisor. There has been some serious issues at this hotel. If you continue to let it run like this, this will be the start of self-destruction of your company.

Stayed several times at this hotels because there are no other accorhotels except sofitel in the centre of rome. Breakfeast is quite modest, room could use some refurbishment including bathroom. My shower head was squirting water everywhere which did get replaced after i reported this at the reception. Air conditioning, as with my previous 3 stays at this hotel, was still disastrous. Doesn't almost cool or blow cold air, you need to leave it on during the whole night for the room not to become blazing hot and it's quite noisy. If you are a light sleeper => forget about running the airco at night!

« My WORST hotel experience ever; change your name from LA GRIFFE to LA GRIEF »

Spending the Roman summer in your hotel without air-conditioning was bad enough. On top of it, I paid EUR 236 per night for this terrible experience. But do you know what was the worst part of my entire stay? There was not a single message of apology from your hotel management for this big blunder which you people have made. If you people understand what is fair and what is not, then you need to refund part of the money I have paid. Because I had paid EUR 708 for 3 nights for a 5-star experience. And what you people gave me was a 2-star experience. Definitely not worth the money I paid. I will never visit your property again, and will ask all my friends to avoid you as well

I'm sure that this hotel, on any given day, would more than live up to all expectations however, unfortunately, on the night that I stayed, they had AC issues. As a result, I had a fairly restless sleep. Apart from this, the staff were all very friendly and obliging. I had a meal in the rooftop restaurant; the view, the service and the meal itself was fabulous. I would definitely recommend this hotel to first time visitors to Rome - great location; close to a couple of tourist sites and reasonably priced shops/ a supermarket.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the hotel. We specifically selected the Sofitel as we thought we could trust the brand. The hotel was not five stats as advertised. This meant we were very disappointed from the very beginning. To make matters worse the air conditioning did not work. Even after they said they had fixed it the room was always at a minimum temperature of 26 degrees. The hotel needed to be re-vamped and brought up to standard. The shower was an embarresment for a supposedly five dtar hotel.

There were a LOT of issues #1 - The aircon did not work and one room was at 29 oC We raised the issue some 6-7 times during the stay We were lied to multiple times about fixing it always being told, it's fixed and it'll cool down in a few hours - load of rubbish as after several more complaints we started receiving other "standard" responses that conflicted depending on who we spoke to After 3 days of this they promised to change the room - they upgraded ... to a room not fit for my wife who is on crutches (the Hotel staff knew this) and so was unable to go up the stairs to the bedroom, we declined the rooms. We were offered another suite but that was hot and I did not believe it would cool down In the end after having complained so many times we just stayed in the sauna rooms and left 1 day early and received no refund. We also received no other compensation, not even a complementary bottle of water #2 - there is no shower curtain as the shower glass was broken in both rooms - clearly had been like that for years, meant you could not use the shower without flooding the bathroom #3 - only one cup in the room, one pair of slippers, one bath robe for a room for myself and my wife #4 - no discount on the "partner" parking #5 - there was a smell of smoke as if someone was smoking and it was coming through the aircon - we reported it and were told it is not possible to smell of smoke .. presumably as they did not believe us #6 - one of the beds was like a bathtub, springs totally gone #7 - room dirty on arrival, I mean it was "clean" just badly with hair and rubbish on the floor around the tables .. it was cleaned up after a few days #8 - WiFi disconnects at midnight even if you have access for multiple days so you have to reconnect it #9 - On checkout staff were surprised we were leaving a day early and claimed they knew nothing of the issues which we had spoken to literally every day for 4 days to the front office staff and calling and had the engineer check This should not be an MGallery - there is nothing about the Hotel that would rate it as worthy or more than 3 stars

« Good Result »

Chose this hotel because we are Accor members and it was just were we wanted to be. Some poor reviews made us a little anxious but our experience was terrific. Great welcome from efficient and very friendly staff. Superior room was a good size with a huge bed and great view of the street. Big and bright bathroom. Free drink on arrival in restaurant with good views of city was misheard and not cold enough. Top floor is not open (being renovated?) but great potential.
