The location & staff were amazing. The rooms were very spacious. The beds also extremely comfortable. Unfortunately the rooms are very dated, and the red furnishings were not easy on the eye.

Quirky hotel - watch out for some of Concierge/Porters.... very keen for tips without actually performing very well. A bit nasty It seemed like a game to see who could grab our bags and extract tip. Not welcome after 26hours travel though. Gorgeous restaurant, great wait staff for brekkie/dinner, fabulous old building in great position.... I might try a different boutique hotel next time though... put off by some staff... some staff lovely.

The stay from start to finish was not great. We arrived a little bit earlier than 1pm, so after our passports got copied we've been told to see you at 2 after check-in time. Got our luggage taken. We came back to check in at 2... which was very cold and zero attention from the receptionist, no information about the hotel. We got room 518 and my mom got 509. I know, we've only paid cheaper rate, but 518 was a very disappointing room, with no natural daylight, very small and stuffy. My mum's room was nicer however there was a huge crack on her window... which I would consider a safety issue. Room 518 isn't up to scratch, I am so sorry, I really wanted to like it, but there's many issues with the room. The bathroom is nasty, the shower flods the bathroom as there is a huge gap between the doors. It is full of with moulds and cracked tiles. The room has a view to an internal staircase. Aircon wasn't working in the beginning, and it started working randomly at some point. The Wi-Fi wasn't explained and our signal was poor in the room. I didn't like the almost see through door to the bathroom, not private and you can see what the other person does in the bathroom from the bed. Check out again, same guy; got zero interest from him. He didn't understand that we wanted to pay separately for the room. He didn't ask about the stay and seemed more interested about a phone ringing at the reception desk. On the positive side. The doormen were all exceptional and the staff upstairs in the bar were great. And of course thr roof top bar was a delight. They really stood out and the only things I thought were 5 star. I am sorry about this review, but feel disappointed.

It has been a very good experience and a great stay at the “La Griffe Roma - MGallery by Sofitel”. You have there an outstanding team including the reception team (very professional, friendly), the housekeeping team (very friendly, discreet & polite) without forgetting Claudia, the person who impressed me the most. Indeed Claudia, part of the reception team, has delivered best in class quality service with attention to every detail! It would be excellent if all hotels will have a "Claudia" for taking care of us during check-in process, adhoc requests such as restaurant reservation, itinerary explanation, metro advices, check-out process, etc…as she was just amazing, very professional, polite, calm, always smiling by responding to the needs of customers, really much appreciated! The General Manager can be very proud of his/her team and particularly proud of Claudia. According to me she really deserves to be recognized by the direction/management for all the good care she offers to the customers, she is an example for all of us. To summarize, it was very good to stay at this hotel. Thanks again to the team for the wonderful welcome & services, responsiveness, kind hospitality and excellent support!

We really enjoyed our holiday stop over in Rome. Hotel in a very good location for shopping and eating out. Our room was very comfortable and trendy. We didn't like the free standing bath with hand held shower nozzle. The bath was hard to get into and quite high particularity for elderly people.

Good until there was no air conditioning in one room and other room which had didn't have proper working shower. I asked to discuss at check out and no one could help me and I was told I would get a message from the director who could adjust billing for such inconveniences but never was contacted!

Dear, I must admit i was a bit disappointed on the room quality/service. Staff was very welcoming and helpful but the room was not up to standards that could be expected from a M gallery brand hotel. A small summary of the room: - it could use general refurbishment as the wooden floor in the patio had black scratches and heavy usage wear. - the lock of my door locked like it had been forced open which caused the door not to close sound proof; i could easily hear corridor noise Bathroom: - the protective wire of the hairdryer was torn at the handle of this device, this is hazardous as this is supposed to protect from any contact with wires - the shower: there were black spots between the joints, in a humid zone this can only be mold which again is a health hazard; the shower should be disinfected to remove this mold manifestation - shower: the plastic massage wall device clearly had it's best days: it was cracked and quickly repaired with some silicon, the attachment of the handshower was broken open and (again) clearly had mold inside; the massage jets were stuck in place and unmovable, if not popped out in a few cases. - jets of the shower head are hard to regulate and are squirting in every direction: clearly a descaling was needed. - the shower, in general, clearly could use a refurbishment Housekeeping: - while my toilet roll was replaced every day by a new one only after using a few sheets, my cleanex tissues at the mirror ran out after 2 days.. - my dish with fruit i received as a gold member, stayed for 2 days in room after i had eaten the fruit on the 1st day. Checkout: - on checkout, in most hotels i visit, it is a courtesy to print out the customers' bill and explain all items on it. After the customer agrees to it, the bill then is duly settled. My checkout was exactly the way around. I was first charged the amount on my credit card after which my bill was printed and handed over. Wifi: in the patio, the wifi connection is a disaster; on the lower floor it works fine Some of these items might seem like a detail, but from a hotel that is positioned at brand level to be a 4 star M gallery by Sofitel, i think it's obvious details can clearly be expected to taken care of by default rather than on demand or complaint. Clearly, for me, room wise, this was not the expected value for money i always experience as a gold member although my status should not give me expections on this. For this room rate and hotel gradation, details should be a certainty, not a demand. I will be staying in your hotel again coming week, i will be better suited to evaluate the hotel after this visit. Worse ever M Gallery I have stayed so far.. Other than the location, the hotel is old and the M Gallery brand standard was not there. Is more of a Mercure hotel. The lobby is nice. The bath room is very basic

« Disappointing. »

We had a very short 24 hour stay in Rome and the hotel experience was disappointing. We were not expecting to be sleeping in two single beds. Initially the power did not work. The air conditioning unit was so noisy and unable to be switched off and by opening the window it felt you were sleeping out on the street as it was so noisy. We thought the facilities were adequate but the hotel as a whole was run down with the exception of the foyer and check in area. It was not expected to see vinyl in the corridors of an upmarket hotel.
