« A great break in a friendly, efficient and well-situated hootel »

An an enjoyable three days, enhanced by having our room upgraded to a suite on two floors. The room was a quirky in design but comfortable and stylish. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was very good and served in a room with a spectacular rooftop view of Rome.

« Excelente experience! »

My family trip was at its last hotel staying in Rome. The la griffe hotel would be the only Sofitel labeled hotel of the trip cause we went from Novotel Seville to Malaga and a mercury in Algeciras. The hotel was beautiful and the staff excellent, however it was the only hotel where there was no extra bed for my kids or crib. My room had a problem on the heating with Norway of controlling it only on or off and the safe didn,t work as well. Apart from this difficulties, the staff Was excellent and the breakfast with a view was the cherry of the cake.

Excellent Hotel,Prime location, spacious room and nice breakfast and stuff. Amazing value for money.We went to Rome to spend the new year and it was our first experience with gallery hotels chain, We were amazed with the stuff, the room and the location of the hotel, it is with 15 minutes walk to all main attractions and 5 minutes to the station.

The entire staff at MGallery was helpful and professional. I think they did an awesome job and made the stay pleasant. My suggestions: The hallways feel a bit antiseptic, like a hospital. In the rooms setup with lofts, I highly recommend the hotel installs some type of air circulation. Heat rises and the loft can be 30C while the downstairs is probably less than 20C even when it's 5C outside. We opened the windows and propped the door open in the evening. Had to wear a light coat downstairs, while the upstairs cooled down to a comfortable temperature. A ceiling fan or turning on the air circulation in the AC unit would eliminate this common complaint. The hotel overall is due for a bit of a remodel/update. The spa in the suite is awesome. A nice way to relax after walking all day.

« An excellent stay, friendly and effficient staff! »

The hotel is in an excellent location in the City - very near a metro station, plenty of taxis-for-hire pass the door, wide range of restaurants nearby - and do not forget plenty of Gelato joints also close by for a quick and essential fix. The key tourist sites are all very accessible - and in our opinion, if you are a half way decent walker, many of them within very reasonable walking distance. The hotel was very good, but in our opinion, in the UK would be four star rather than five star. This is an observation only, and certainly not a complaint. Their was an issue with our room, and the Management and staff did us proud in changing - and upgrading - us for the remaining four nights. We did not dine-in, so cannot comment either way concerning food and service, but the bars were excellent. Day by day reception and housekeeping staff were very helpful when we needed advice and assistance. We certainly would recommend the hotel.

« Gorgeous breakfast spot »

Luxe styling and comfortable. Had breakfast in the hotel on the last morning and thoroughly enjoyed the setting, the light, the space and the view. Price seemed high at first glance but actually value was okay if setting yourself up for a big day. High quality foods and coffees. Shower over bath not my favourite. And hotel space heating on the warm side. Comfortable sleeping with the window open. Staff did well, making us feel valued.

The hotel was dated, the shower had mold, the curtains had stains all over. Service was good but I wouldn't stay at this property again unfortunately.

« happy anniversary trip »

We had big anniversary trip (40th year).. well i booked junior-suite (as Platinum accor member).The room was catastrophe!! Second floor (sleep area) hot like sauna. Small living area ...well poor! I asked , like my right as Platinum member better room, you could not give any better....poor! So we agreed to downgrade;by the way first time of my life, to accept normal deluxe room. Anyhow this room was better than Juniorsuite, but i paid for Juniorsuite, so i lost 300€! Is that fare??At least i feel like ripped ,and my wife was big disappointed.

« 40th anniversary »

Every went wrong from beginning. I booked as a Platinium accor member my room as junior- suite level to hope to have upgrade to suite level. What happened.. first time in my life it was recommoded from hotel to downgrade the room!, Ok ; that were fine because the 2 level suites was not for normal human, sleeping area grazy hot, like sauna... and im from Finland. So, i paid 300€ too much only to downgrade my room. Bad Accor . Bad for my great loyality to accor. We had our 40th anniversary, and all this hazzle... Hotel hasnt any happy anniversay skol. Strange as well. They knew it.So this so called 5 star hotel in my eye is max 2. Sorry.

In summary, we had an excellent and pleasurable stay at La Griffe Roma, and once again, its because of the people that represent the premise and the brand that make it all important. I would like to compliment Mara, Valentina and their team for making the efforts to make our stay comfortable and memorable. They took the time to explain how to get around the city, recommended good food, attentive to my family's needs and even helped me out of my situation when it turned unfavourable on my last day due to car rentals and delays of moving to another city.

« Great Location, Not 5 Star Though »

The location is brilliant, 5 mins walk from Termini Station and within walking distance of all the sights of Rome. The staff were fantastic and the hotel was clean. However my room really wasn't upto 5 Star standard, being rather small, far too hot and the ensuite was very tired and tatty. The turndown service did only half their job and the minibar was poorly stocked and overpriced. Overall, an acceptable hotel but not 5* and rather poor value.

« Upgraded experience ! »

Very nice room : big room with balcony, very nice bed. I was surprised to discover the program "inspired by her". As unfortunately i forgot my toilet kit at home, i was curious to discover the "emergency kit" but when i asked for it i didn't get it. I got a toothbrush but no brush for the hair as "the shop was closed" which i found strange that in that kind of hotel you don't have some spare in case of.

« Worst 5 Star hotel ever »

Good location and staff were friendly, but overall, extremely disappointed with the outdated room, quality and services provided by this apparently "5-star hotel". I stayed at Mgallery Venice and Florence earlier week those are 4-star but much better rooms and services. I would say the only positive experience would be the delicious breakfast. On arrival, bags were taken to the lobby but were not taken up to the room without having to call the reception to remind them to do so. In addition to this, the room was not cleaned for two consecutive days, and there was no hanger on the door either asking for the room to be cleaned. Once again, I had to personally call the reception to ask for both to be completed. When the room was clean up, I found a slipper under the bed, and the empty tissue box removed but no replacement. And the list goes on. Once again, I can not stress enough the utter disappointment I felt at this hotel. I certainly would not come back or recommend.

I provided comments on Tripadvisor about our experience and you are welcome to take a look. In addition, I like to point out few additional points that prompted my Dissatisfied rating during the stay: 1) we arrived at the hotel very early morning (around 7 AM), on Sat, 11/17/2018, after long 18 hours red-eye flight. Although I was hoping for early check in but mentally I was prepared for some waiting. Surely, at the check in counter, I was told room is not ready but given a room number 807, asked to be come back around 11 AM. So I left my luggage at the lobby and went out for sightseeing. I returned little passed 11 AM and was told the room is not ready yet. And the staffs at the counter assured me that they will give me "the first available room." At that time I was so tired and decided to wait in the lobby. Finally, close to 12 PM, I was given a room key to 807. When I walked inside the room, it certainly hit me - why the staffs said something like "the first available room" early, but in fact I was already assigned room 807 during check in at 7 AM? Was there really no room available when I walked inside the hotel at 7 AM? Or I was made to wait? I am still wondering... 2) When I made my booking from AccorHotel website, I read the full description of the hotel, and understand there is a Lounge Bar La Griffe. Not sure if this serves as "Executive Lounge" for which I have a full access as a Platinum member, I asked the check in counter if there is an Executive Lounge. When told there is none, I asked if a free breakfast will be provided to supplement the Executive Lounge privilege, as this is common practice among all other AccorHotel I have stayed in the past. The hotel staffs at the check-in sounded amused at first by this request and were on the phone with whoever, and told me no free breakfast with my room. 3) About free usage of soft drinks in mini bar - this benefit is clearly listed in the Le Club membership webpages. However, the same check-in staffs refused to acknowledge this even after I showed them the screen shot of the webpage. Later, another staff explained to me apologetically that indeed soft drink in the mini bar is included for the Platinum member. Because of this back-and-forth, we chose not to consume any soft drinks during our entire stay. 4) Next day, I saw a staff (Eillen?) who sit behind a Customer Relation deck. I brought up with her the benefit privileges for Platinum members and mini bar confusion (by the check-in staffs). She listened and offered to look into the issue and get back to me. Later she asked a house keeper to send a plate of pastries to our room together with a hand-written note. In the note, it basically said something like that the entire hotel staffs will be "at our disposal" to make our stay enjoyable. Nice Words! But in the end, neither she nor the hotel manager ever formally responded my questions on breakfast, access to the coffee bar. My overall complaint is that I did not feel I was fairly treated as a Platinum member. I stayed at many other Accor Hotels and resorts, where Executive Lounge was not available. In those instances, the hotels staffs always say a sorry for (my) inconvenience, offers free breakfast and free daily access to the coffee bars. I don't know if La Griffe MGallery has a different policy and practices in terms of the member benefits. However, the service altitude exhibited by few hotel staffers is far below par than other "5 star" hotels. I would not have disappointed so much had this hotel not been listed as 5-Star.

Very welcoming hotel with friendly and dedicated staff, despite not all was perfect. At my arrival I received a voucher by the very friendly receptionist for a welcome drink at the bar, unfortunately the bar was closed the first night. The room was decorated very tastefully but not all was practical like a shower without a rod. Breakfast was very nice, the surrounding on the 9th floor, the products served, and again the very friendly and helpful staff where making the this a very good beginning of the day. the 5th star classification is in my opinion a bit enthusiastic, certainly I will come back when the occasion is there. The staff makes you forget about all the small imperfections of the hotel.

Very welcoming and charming hotel with friendly and dedicated staff. At my arrival I received a voucher by the very friendly receptionist for a welcome drink at the bar and a room upgrade. The room was decorated very tastefully but not all was practical like a shower without a rod.
