« Excellent option in the confluence of different neighborhoods »

The hotel is located close to public transportation and at walking distance of some of the touristic spots, like Museumplein, Rembrandtsplein, etc. Our room was tidy, but brand new, and breakfast included was an important plus.

Hotel is very closed to the city and very easy to connect to public transport. The only think need to improve is staff. I found the staff are not very friendly. It is could be better if that could be improved.

This charming hotel looks like an Amsterdam house. We stayed 2 days there and loved the localization, close to tram line 4, supermarket, Albert cuyp market. Excellent quality of breakfast, including local food! Would return to this place!

Convenient located near tram stops and only 5 min away from the main city Centre. Some rooms are very small but after one night we got upgraded to a normal size room. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. We only had a little incident, but was solved by the staff very quickly; Although it is a non smoking hotel some previous guest HAD to smoke his joint anyway in the room, which made the room smell like a coffee shop, luckily the friendly staff directly moved my son to another room.

The hotel is situated not so close to the city centre but tram 4 which is across the street gives central access in a few minutes. The room was clean and nice but was rather small (but for Amsterdam standards i'm not certain). We had a problem with our bed and the staff tried somehow to solve the problem as well as offering us some complimentary chocolates and wine to apologise for the inconvenience which was really cute. The breakfast is great with a variety of food to choose from. Overall an ok experience for those who are not much needy but trying to stay somewhere clean and decent.

« Unpleasant stay, hotel not at the level of the other ibis styles we used to experience in other countries »

> size of the room unappropriate: we get a room very small with no one double bed but two separate small beds. The bathroom was not handy at all, not possibility to put clothes nearby the shower for example. this is unacceptable given the fact that we booked the room many months upfront. You had to provide us with a convenient room. > TV in our bedroom was not functionning (needed to provide with a pin code each time we wanted to change channel) > it was very cold in the bathroom/ no healing > breakfast room was not pleasant, no open window, no air, very warm > there was works in the hotel (for which we were not aware/even though we booked the room months in advance) - not great feelings > overall we find this hohtel not at the level of other ibis styles and certainly not aligned with the promise of Ibis styles to be a good balance between quality and price. For what we paid, the hotel was very low quality. Furthermore, going n this hotel for only 2 days in the Christmas break and having to face all these 'bad surprises' really gave us a bad feeling and a disappointing experience that impact the rest of our break time. Parking : we were told that there were only 3 spots for car in this amstel ibis styles for a price of 25€, we saw the area, it wa very narrow and small. We then decided to not park there but were disappointed given the fact that we initially planned to use the parking of the hotel. (as mentioned on the website). Also, all the works happening during the Christmas break lowered considerably our experience and the comfort we expected to have.

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The stairs to the fourth floor are a little crazy- very steep and not very full steps. A warning about the steps would have been nice before we got to them!

« Twin beds in a small room »

With 2 single beds in a room that small meant that the door opened against the bed & 2 people couldn't walk round the room at the same time. Likewise, accessing the bathroom was a bit of a challenge. Nowhere to keep a suitcase, no drawers for clothes only a small wardrobe to hang stuff in. I know it was a cheapish hotel outside the city centre but the room was way too small for 2 beds. Might be OK with just a normal size double bed. Room was also difficult to set to a pleasant temperature.

« Good value, good location, modern & clean »

The hotel was lovely, the reception staff were all amazing except for one gent. We loved the rooms and they were slightly bigger than anticipated for a city hotel. Breakfast was satisfactory, good choices. Liked all the amenities in the room. The only thing that let it down were the stairs, they were far too steep with no option for a lift from 3rd-4th floor. One of the ladies in our party fell down the stairs one night, she fell from the top to bottom and cut her arm open & has bad bruising. She went to reception for first aid but had a frosty reception & felt it was implied it was her own fault for drinking! We were a hen party & some girls were drunk but she wasn’t! She wasn’t drunk but she still fell down the stairs, she is still bruised now. There should be a lift available to all rooms, especially when the stairs are exceptionally steep & winding.

« Very hot room »

It was a convenient location, excellent public transport connections. I really enjoyed the breakfast variety, loads of options available. However, getting to breakfast at peak times was a bit of a nightmare, and with only lift access it made the morning a bit frustrating. I found the elevator very slow, and with housekeeping using the lifts during busy mornings it sometimes took a few turns till we were able to leave the basement level. The room 309 was a quiet one, however the room temperature was extremely hot... even after turned the radiator down, it took 2 days until we managed to have a normal temperature in the room. (air con wasn't working ) however did not want to make a fuss as some other rooms looked a bit noisier... especially the ones located next to the lifts.

« Smallest room ever!! »

The room I had was as big as a closet, maybe 8m2 max with a tiny bed (fortunately my husband who is 1.88m tall was Not with me otherwise he could not have slept in this bed!). It is just unbelievable to pay 160€ for a room like this in an hotel which is not even in the center of Amsterdam. It was my first stay in an ibis style hotel and probably my last.
