New building/poor service. Needed extra towels, etc but were asked to pick up at front desk. What! Never had to do this in any other Mecure. Management rude when challenged Give this hotel a miss is you can.

« Excellent hotel »

I have stayed at several Mercure and Novotel hotels in Europe and UK but this was the best yet. The "Privilege" room was exceptionally comfortable with a 6ft bed and large wall mounted TV. The bathroom was very large with an enormous walk in rain shower, double sink and heated tiled floor. The room was spotless - well done the housekeeping team. The only downside was that there was only one easy chair but this seems to be a common feature in hotels. There was no separate restaurant but there was a bar/restaurant serving a limited menu but to an excellent standard. We had intended to eat out in Amersfoort but because of the weather we decided to eat in the bar without any regret or problem. The service in the bar was superb - courteous, prompt and efficient. Parking was in a public multi storey car park under the hotel at a subsidised flat rate. The train station was only an easy 10min walk with a 15 min service to Amsterdam. The best yet

The hotel is not proving a proper service these days and is taking things for granted . I have been in the hotel for 1 year now every week but the service has deteriorated . The front office is not provide a proper support to the guests .

« What a pity.... »

We reserved a suite as a treat for my birthday. Suite was lovely except for amenities - two coffee pads for the coffee machine for a two day stay seemed a little on the light side. In the bar, a seventeen year old was serving alcohol - that was slightly disturbing. Our check out experience was horrible - there was a mistake made and the reception staff were rather abrupt and rude all at once! I challenged the information that was given because it was conflicting and they didn't like that at all. We were treated in a huffy manner and not in a professional way at all - no customer focus. As I had taken the time to clarify the issues earlier in the day and be told one thing, to be told something else at check-out was hugely disappointing - especially this was my birthday gift from my husband. .

Dear Pauline, Thank you for taking time to review us. As we all remember your stay with us, I think your review is not totaly the true. And that is a pity also for us. First of all, rooms are getting 2 pads a day, in case you would like to have extra ones, feel free to contact the reception. In the morning with your stay over, the housekeeping will give you new ones, as this also happened in your room. Than the late check out, you offered us the wrong le club number, therefor you where registrated as a silver member and not a gold member. As we all know; a silvermember doenst have the privilege to have a free late check out. After figgering out ourselves you were indeed a gold member (changed status day before arrival) We did changed this for you, and you were offered a free late check out. So actually we do not understand your review at all. We wish you all the best!

« Second stay in the hotel, will be there again in the future »

I stayed in the same hotel last year around the same time and just as it was then it was brilliant from check in to check out, rooms are very clean & spacious, beds are comfortable and your never too cold with the heating being able to be set by yourself to suit you, bathroom was a little smaller this time round but was adequate enough for my needs, the staff are very friendly and greet you with a smile and are always there to help should you need it.

« Not bad but not what I expected »

As a business traveler and Accor Favorite Guest card holder I am little sensitive regarding the quality of hotels. After a long working day I appreciate a clean, quite and little comfortable room. I have to admit that staff was very friendly, hotel reception is professional and they also offer a drink in the reception area. The room was not bad, it was large and spacious but unfortunately when I entered the "privilege room" there was an unnatural strong chemical smell, the air was somehow sticky. To open the window meant to have full voice of the street. The room was in the third floor, just in front of the road and just above the bar. The noise of street and bar was really annoying, and to be able to sleep I needed to use earplugs (which reduced the noise but did not eliminate it). Since the hotel was fully booked, they could not offer me another room. As an AFG member I expected to get a quite room, since I also ask for it in the reservation, but this did not work this time. That the sheet on the bed was damaged was finally an minor problem. So, for this stay only average, might be I have more future luck ;-) and I suppose the hotel has an better overall ranking.

« Good value for money »

Comfortabel new hotel in new urban extension close to the old city and railway station. Rooms and outfit are four star size, price compared to other hotels three star and below, particularly with membership discount. Disadvantage is the lack of bicycle storage: cyclists be aware! Also the indoor all-you-can-eat restaurant may be disappointing as the quantity is better than the quality.

« Coolest in town »

Located at walking distance from the heart of the gem which Amersfoort is, I do recommend to stay at the Junior suite which is definitely the best hotel I ever stayed (jacuzzi and no doors among the areas of the room). Loved every bit of it.

I find very good service and really like it.free wifi, car parking is massive and very reasonable only €5 a full day . It's in middle of the town and ideal to catch up all links to Rotterdam and maestro dam .

Good quality hotel close to edge of old town. About 700 yards to train station for quick link to Amsterdam. In same complex as two budget supermarkets so handy for essentials. Car parking reasonable at 5 euros/day.

good location both in terms of access from the train station and distance from the city. spacious rooms high quality finish. hugea very comfy bed. kettle+tea and coffee in the room. overall very pleased. would be great if the check in time was earlier.

The hotel is very well located, very easily accessible. The staff is very friendly. The room was always very clean. The bed is amazingly comfortable. Breakfast is served in a very comfortable room. Wifi worked nicely. Accor's Plant for the Planet Program really worked there. I really recommend this hotel.

« unjustified reservation cancelation »

When I arrived with 3 colleagues, the Front Desk Manager Lisa informed us that the confirmed reservation of 4 rooms was canceled in spite of the fact that reservation was confirmed to me by email. Front desk manager could not explain properly and offered that we would take the 3 suites for 4 people at a price of more than double the original booking. Those were the only rooms still available, she stated. We had no choice but to take them as all the other hotels were fully booked. The hotel in Amersfoort claimed they did not have the right email address to contact me and claimed they had sent info re guarantee or cancelation to another colleague of mine but who is not in charge anymore. The hotel claimed they did not have my email address, yet they had sent the initial booking reservation correctly to me! It was just an excuse to sell our rooms at a higher price before we arrived and then they could sell us the suites as well. I have stayed many times in this hotel and the previous times it was always in order and there was no hassle. The way how we were treated was scandalous. Ps I am a very regular traveler, also with Accor, +/- 150 nights /year. and such a bad treatment has never happened to me in any country.

Dear mister Ryckaert, Thank you for taking time to write and share your experience. It is a pity to read that you experienced your stay in this way. Unfurtunately you did NOT made a guaranteed booking. The room was not guaranteed with a vailed credit card. We did contact you many times by email, the email adres you gave with making your booking was (you told us late in the evening by check in) of your colleague. We also explained you upon check in that we did not know that the email adress was not yours. We gave you the possibility to book 3 rooms, our LAST rooms. While there where people waiting in the que for a room, we were still waiting for your response. We called other hotels for you in the area of your appointment the day after. You dicited to book the suites for that evening. And because of the reason that we only had 3 rooms left instead of 4, we placed a complimentary extra bed in one of the suites. So, we think it is not far to be mad at us in this case...

My fifth stay at this hotel. Close to station. Shops and restaurants nearby. Big TV screen in nice rooms. Friendly and efficient staff. Free coffeee in lounge. Pricy breakfast. Next to the hotel is a big cinema center. 10 walk to the old town and 10 min. walk to the railway station.

Good location - 10 min. walk from Central Station and lots of action around. good "All you can eat" restaurant next to hotel. Amersfoort is a lovely town and cheaper than AMS! Hotel is modern with nice staff and this is my fifth stay and as usual answers all my needs. Strongly recommanded!

« Nice, wellsituated hotel. But the service just OK. »

The hotel is right in the center, parking cellar in the same building. Good restaurant, spacy rooms etc. However the service was just up to average, when it was at its peak. Very proactive stuff (however in the worse meaning of this expression). None of the 3-4 times I have stayed there my status as gold card holder was recognized. It is also the first hotel I have stayed in (in my 22 years as business traveler) calling guests half an hour before to be sure that the guest will leave the room on time! At my last booking calling me already at 12:30AM to tell that I had to guarantee my stay with credit card in order to keep my reservation, although according to Accorhotels.com I had until 6PM!

We are a busy hotel and where fullybooked that day. We wanted to avoid the situation that we did not had a room for you after 6pm (in case you had plans for a late arrival) It is a pity to read that you did not appreciate our help.
