« lovely hotel,staff and food...the room wasnt great. »

The hotel was lovely and so were the staff.the food we had at the bar was delicous also.we had a standard double room that wasnt as clean as we would have liked.lots of stains on walls,doors and radiators.....slight smell of urine in toilet too and lots of dead spiders stuck too roller blind.as we only stayd for 2 nights we didnt complain.

« A perfect day and night »

We were attending our Neices' wedding and from the first minute we stepped into the Hotel everything went perfectly, the Hotel staff were excellent and friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the staff who coordinated the wedding were also excellent and ensured everything went well. The room was clean and it was all we needed.

As I was the one booking this as a gift. For a Wedding stay,after two weeks. I still had not received email confirmation. So I contacted hotel again. To be told that the booking was for the wrong night (before) Wedding. And not the night of the wedding. Most disappointed

Excellent stay for my 1st anniversary. All staff were excellent and helpful. Food is amazing. While drink is quite expensive it is what you would expect in a hotel. The one down side was the the fact i found a dirty cotton bud the morning we were leaving on hebedroom floor. Other than that we have already spoken about going back soon.

« Staff excellent problem with large housekeeping area on first floor »

We had to change rooms twice, once because there was no lift to the original room and then because we had been placed in room 103 next to the housekeeping area there was bedding and blue bags on the floor and the storage room doors were all open looking a real mess, as we didn't want to be faced with this mess the next day we asked to move. We were then given a room on the third floor, which was perfect. The receptionist on duty was very very helpful an understanding. She was excellent thoughout despite the fact the reception was busy . Unfortunately my husband who hasn't been keeping well got poorly overnight so we didn't manage the second night.

« Very disappointing stay »

Our visit was a birthday treat from my son . Room 101 was awful . Stained and faded blind, no curtains,draught from window, Room cold and damp. Carpet stained and fit for the bin. On our 2 day visit fire alarm went off twice, No coordination in car park, no apology, no communication or explanation and no health and safety check to ensure guests were all out of hotel.First alarm we lost drinks, second alarm we lost out on finishing breakfast. We wanted to go for a swim but pool was closed for maintenance. What a waste of our time and my son's money. I do not expect plastic cups and stirring sticks in a hotel. but I expect them in McDonalds. Please visit The Mansfield Hotel in Hawick and compare yourselves to them.It is night and day as to the rooms, service, communication and quality.

« Not as good aa last visit »

Our stay was interrupted by 2 fire alarms.after check out we went to use the pool.unfortunately the sauna wasnt working.spoke to reception on way out+ was told it was working.seems a button wasn't pressed at reception. Which is disappointing as she knew we were going to use the facilities.

« Could have been much better, very noisy at night myself and husband was awake most of the night. »

Check in was efficient and Pleasant, glass of wine and canapés was a nice touch, evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast. We were in room 102 which was the part of the hotel still to be refurbished and this was pretty clear, room was very tired indeed the blind on window would not pull up so no natural light in the room which was disappointing. Then bedtime came the noise was unbearable the door in the corridor was outside our room and it Constantly opened and shut and people running chatting etc until the early hours, I did report this at checkout and the receptionist did say she was aware of it from the night staff and she apologized but did charge us the full amount of our stay.
