Room and beach service was good. Breakfast was nice, but identical for the entire week (some changes would be welcome) Dinner service in the rooftop restaurant was unremarkable in terms of quality and mildly disappointing in terms of service. Unacceptably, after a one week stay, I was not granted a late (2pm checkout) unless I paid for another half day stay (and no, the hotel was not full at all)

« Nice stay after solving the issues with the first room »

The hotel is located in a nice area, provided with good service and is conveniently sized. Above items make the choice of hotel. The structural state of the building/rooms is sometimes poor, mostly experienced in the bathrooms, as this time there was water leaking from the ceiling.

The staff at the hotel was absolutely incredible. The location of the hotel is amazing and the ocean front view from my room was breathtaking. The hotel is located within walking distance of local shops and restaurants and Ipanema. The views from the rooftop pool / restaurant are phenomenal.

Decent room and lovely staff. Meal and drinks on the first night was split between myself and 4 colleagues staying in different rooms, though it is not clear how this made its way onto the room bill

Brilliant location & great staff - especially in the lobby bar/cafe and Roof top. I heard that it is soon to be refurbished & I think it is ready - the windows especially need to be replaced - (to improve sound proofing from the traffic)

Excellent service....! I sent short word documents and boarding passes for printing. They were done and bought to me room within minutes. The food at the rooftop restaurant was excellent and so too was the (Argentinian) wine. I had a ;ate flight to catch and your assistance providing a shower and changing room before travelling to the airport was very much appreciated.

I stayed at Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema for 5 nights in June. The front desk were very friendly and organised a room for me despite me arriving before check in time. The room was beautiful with views of both Christ the Redeemer and Ipanema beach. The staff were helpful in booking taxis and providing suggestions on where to eat and get groceries. Facilities were great (gym and rooftop bar). The breakfast buffet was however only average.

We really enjoyed staying at the Sofitel. We thought it was a very relaxing hotel and the staff were all great. We particularly liked the beach staff, including Pedroso, who went out of his way to ensure he was friendly and helpful.
