« Excellent »

I have stayed at the Caesar Park (now Sofitel) approximately 20 times (maybe more) over the past decade, and the renovations and service is as good now as it have ever been. I will say the food on the pool level, while very good, is a bit limited if you are having dinner in the hotel. But that's a quibble.

1. When I arrived room was not made up or prepared for me 2. I had asked for hard pillow and sheets and blanket and NO duvet, none of requirements was respected 3. the room was spartan 4. In a city where tap water is not safe I had to pay 14 real for a small bottle of water in my room 5. breakfast room was small and crowded, not at all peaceful and breakfast was poor. Scrambled eggs were bellow standard and the orange juice... well, was just orange squash and of very bad quality

Our second stay here. We love staying here, some of the staff are fantastic. All the staff at the restaurant/pool area are great, and Marcio at breakfast/pool bar was always super friendly (and remembered us from our stay before). Miriam was also super friendly. Love the pictures around the hotel and overall feel. We were sad to leave. One item of feedback - we had a late evening flight, we used the showers upstairs by the fitness centre, but it would be good if the hotel could provide a more suitable space. It's pretty cramped, no shampoo/shower gel etc.

Really annoying that you can't open the windows in the room - one is next to this beautiful beach, with ocean smell and sound of waves but what you have to put up with is an uncomfortable freezing air condition. Also, the smell at the gym is awful - of poor cooking oil and food in general, again, not leveraing the ocean breeze at all. Lastly, you send a marketing email but you don't send the invoice post stay. I usually stay at Hilton hotels and they always send me my folio automatically, regardless of where in the world I've stayed with them. I will not stay at your hotel again if I have to go to Rio for work.

« Fine, but for the bad toilet »

The toilet had problems flushing before I tried to us it. Reported once, and service came but did not fix it. So, had to use toilet off the lobby on the first floor. The next day I called again and it was finally fixed.

From the minute I’ve booked to the minute we left, the service and attention to details been extraordinary. The team was so hospitable to a level I haven’t seen in a long time. Leonel was in touch with me constantly to make our stay so unique and fantastic. He a one of a kind and we felt we have a new family here in Rio we must come back and visit again! I own a big restaurant in London and I know how hard is to achieve such a high level of service. It was inspiring to see this. I know that sometimes different guests have different needs and it felt your team act like we knew each other for years. Such a personal and attentive attention towards us that really couldn’t fault anything.

The staff were just incredible!! So wonderful, happy and helpful! I’ve never ever experienced customer service quite like it, and I’ve stayed in many 5* hotels before. The staff truly made the trip memorable for us and I can’t thank them enough.. especially Leonel and Pedro! Would also like to thank Pedrosa for kindly looking after us each and every day we visited the beach, making us feel safe, relaxed and at ease at all times. « Decent stay in Ipanema »

Location of the hotel is pretty good, and the staff were very friendly. However, the quality of the room was worn and lacking. Being a Sofitel property, I did not expect to see so much unfixed wear and tear of the rooms, just as holes/scrapes in the walls, dust along the vents, and holes in the curtains. It was an decent stay, however we did not get the value we expect for the Sofitel name or the room rate.
